Funeral services for Ola Mae Edwards, 91, of Angleton will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Vine Grove Christian Church, 6041 FM 25405 in Bay City, Texas with the Rev. Gary Edison, eulogizing and the Rev. Larry S. Fletcher, officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in the Live Oak Community.

She passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.

Ola served as a private duty nurse and a nurses’ aide until her health failed. She also served as a housekeeper in homes and remained very involved in the church. She was the Sunday School secretary, choir member and a member of the City Wide Choir. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, frying fish and hair care for others.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Leon Edwards; parents, Sharper and Jessie Mae Edison; brothers, Leige Edison and Hubert “Frog” Edison; sister, Cherrie Lee Polk; sister-in-law, Vivian Edison and brothers-in-law, Kermit Monroe and Billie Polk.

Ola Mae is survived by: her daughter, Jerline Jackson (Emery) of McBeth; sister, Ada S. Monroe of Live Oak; grandchildren, Necole Jackson of McBeth, Donyell Brown (Jeremy, Sr.) of Houston, Texas, Howard L. Edwards of Brazoria and Marc A. Edwards, Sr.(Lasonia) of Fresno, Texas; four great-granddaughters, Shelby Jackson of McBeth, Latasha Edwards of Angleton, Dynasty Edwards of Houston, Texas and Paris Brown of Fresno, Texas; nine great-grandsons, Jeremy Brown Jr., Jashun Brown, Justin Brown, Taij Cooper all of Houston, Texas, Chris Williams and Marc Edwards Jr. of Fresno, Texas, Brayden Edwards, Nicholas Thomas and Devon Farley all of Angleton; one daughter-in-law, Johnnie Mae Edwards-Bell of Brazoria and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Willie M. Haywood III, Warren Polk, Alfred Carl Monroe, Vernon Polk, Robert James Polk, Herbert Lee Polk, Sylvester Edison, Marc A. Edwards, Sr., Larry Edison and Howard L. Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Vine Grove Christian Church ushers and nurses.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 E. Mulberry in Angleton, Texas.

There also will be viewing at the church from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012. There will be no viewing afterwards.

Funeral services for Elijah Fletcher, 50, of Bay City will be held 11 a. m. Wednesday at Vine Grove Christian Church, Live Oak, with the Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial to follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak.

Friends and relatives may call until 9 p. m. today at Duncan Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City.

Mr. Fletcher was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Bay City to Lucious and Neomi C. Law Fletcher and died Dec. 29, 1989, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City.

He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Johnson Fletcher of Bay City; four sons, Robert and Warren of Bay City and Simon and Sheldon of Colorado; mother, Neomi C. Fletcher of Live Oak; seven brothers, Thomas, Roosevelt, Sherby, Calvin, Kent and John of Live Oak and the Rev. Larry Fletcher of Lake Jackson; two sisters, Hattie Fletcher of Live Oak and Evelyn Love of Houston; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Clemis Brown, Travis Williams, Fredrick Fletcher, Russell Armstrong, Eric Fletcher and Leo Roberts Jr.

Honorary pallbearers include brothers and friends of the deceased.

Funeral services for Neaomi Castle Fletcher, 81, of Live Oak, will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Vine Grove Christian Church in Live Oak, with the Rev. Larry Fletcher eulogist.

Burial will follow at Vine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p. m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

She was born in Live Oak, Texas, June 5, 1923, to Walter Law and Hattie Wyche Law, and passed away August 28, 2004, at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston.

Survivors include: two daughters, Hattie Fletcher of Bay City, and Evelyn Love of Houston; six sons, John Fletcher, Thomas Fletcher, the Rev. Larry Fletcher, Sherby Fletcher, Calvin Fletcher and Kent Fletcher, all of Houston; one brother, Howard Law of Palacios; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were: her husband, Lucious Fletcher Sr.; three sons, Elijah, Roosevelt, and Lucious Fletcher Jr.; her parents; and siblings.

BAY CITY - Roosevelt Fletcher Sr., 51, of Bay City, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004.

He was born June 4, 1952, in Live Oak, to Naomi Law Fletcher and the late Lucious Fletcher Sr.

Survivors: daughters, Fallon and Chelsea; sons, Roosevelt Fletcher Sr., Adrian Fletcher, Jason Fletcher, Jeffrey Fletcher, and Demerius Fletcher; sisters, Hattie Fletcher of Bay City and Evelyn Love of Houston; and brothers, John Fletcher, Thomas Fletcher, the Rev. Larry Fletcher, Sherby Fletcher, Calvin Fletcher, and Kent Fletcher, all of Houston.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Vine Grove Christian Church in Live Oak, the Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating.

Sha ‘Mar Steven Fletcher

Funeral services for Sha ‘Mar Steven Fletcher, five months old of Houston, Texas will be held at Vine Grove Christian Church, Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Vine Grove Community Cemetery in Live Oak, Texas.

Sha ‘Mar will lie in state at Vine Grove Christian Church from 1 to 2 p.m. Visitation will be Friday afternoon until 8 p.m.

Sha ‘Mar blossomed on August 2, 2001 to Shandra Marshell Fletcher and Eustacio Mora Hernandez. He passed away January 11, 2002 at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Shandra Fletcher and father, Eustacio Hernandez of Houston; grandparents, Beverly and Frank Stugis of Katy, Texas and the Rev. Larry Fletcher of Houston, Fiora Mora Hernandez of Costa Rico; great grandparents Lula Mae and John Aldridge of Bay City, and Naomi Fletcher of Live Oak, Texas. Uncle Shan Fletcher and Frank Sturgis, III of Houston, aunt, Tammie Lowe of Lawton, Oklahoma and LaTonya Gibson of Houston, and a host of great uncles, aunts, cousins, and special loved ones.

Sammie Franklin, 68, passed away Monday, December 18, 1995. He was born May 13, 1927, in Live Oak to Azalena Wyche Polk and William Franklin who both preceded him in death. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Cheryl Y. Wilcox (and Mitchell) of Bay City, one step-daughter, Mrs. Debra M. Hill of Baytown, Texas; eight brothers, Billie Polk of Live Oak, Henderson Polk, Curtis Franklin, Frank Franklin, all of Bay City, Gilbert Franklin of Brazoria, Sherman Franklin of Houston, Wilbert Franklin of Oakland, Calif. and Harold Franklin of Italy; nine sisters, Blanche Johnson of Bay City, Bobby Johnson of Cedar Lane, Willie Singleton of Hempstead, Bettye Fields of Fairfield, Calif., Helen Times of Live Oak, Jerald D. Smith of Port Arthur, Angel Franklin, Gloria Fobbs, and Dina Burton, all of Houston; one grandson, Chivas Wilcox, a great-grandson, LeTevin Wilcox of Bay City; two devoted sisters-in-law, Cherrie Polk of Live Oak and Edna Polk of Bay City; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Taryn Marsai Harris, 18, of Bay City, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Bay City Civic Center on March 4, 2023.

Visitation will begin Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services following after. She will be laid to rest at Live Oak Community Cemetery, located in Live Oak, beside her great grandparents, the late Kermit and Ada Monroe.

Taryn is survived by her parents, Todd and Ora Harris; older sister, Jazmine Harris; and stepsister, Brenna Coleman-Harris.

Funeral Arrangements are with Sacred Funeral Home in Cedar Hill, TX. All flowers, gifts or donations can be sent to Duncan Roberts funeral home up until 2 p.m. on Friday.
