Kenneth Ray James Funeral services for Kenneth Ray James, 50, of Pledger, will be at 11:30 a. m. Friday, May 8 at the Grove Hill Baptist Church in Pledger, Texas, with Rev. Derrick Blunt, pastor, and Rev. J. James eulogist. Burial will follow at the Jackson Family Cemetery in Pledger. Visitation will be today until 9 p. m. in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a. m. Friday at the church.
James was born Thursday, Sep. 25, 1947 in Wharton to T. W. James and Ruby Lee Jackson James. He passed away Saturday, May 2 in Pledger as a result of an auto accident. He was a member of Grove Hill Baptist Church in Pledger. Upon graduation in Wharton High School in 1965, he attended Prairie View A & M University. Later, he enlisted in the U. S. Army, where he served until his Honorable Discharge.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Faye James of Pledger; one daughter, Tarnisha Thompson of Houston; a step-daughter, Terry Lynn of Houston; a sister, Helen James of Richmond; six aunts, Earline Rideaux of Pledger, Odessa Moses of New Gulf, Monett Morgan of West Columbia, Essie Boyd of Houston, Doris Floyd and Odessa Rentie, both of San Diego, Calif; six uncles, Roosevelt James and R. L. James, both of Pledger, Freddie James of Danciger, S. H. Jackson of Houston, Lloyd Jackson of Bay City, and Floyd Jackson of San Diego; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Active pallbearers are Reginald Perry, Harold Morgan, Freddie Amey, Melvin McClain, Lawrence James and Ray Penrice.
Honorary pallbearers are Roosevelt James, R. L. James, Freddie James, S. H. Jackson, Lloyd Jackson and Floyd Jackson.

T. W. James, 50, a resident of Pledger passed away at his residence May 31. He was a World War II Veteran. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Helen James of Richmond; 1 son, Kenneth James of Richmond; mother, Mrs. Addie James of Pledger; 2 sisters, Mrs. Earlene Rideaux of Pledger and Mrs. Odessa Moses of Boling; 4 brothers, J. L. James of Van Vleck; Roosevelt James of Freeport; R. L. James of Boling; ad Freddie James of Danciger. Funeral services under the direction of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.
