Andrew James Jackson
Mr. Jackson was born March 3, 1890 in Pledger to Smith Henry and Betty Jones Jackson and he died Nov. 4, 1992 in West Columbia.
He was a member of the Baptist church and a lifelong resident of the Pledger Community.
Survivors include seven children, Smith H. Jackson of Houston, Monett and Spencer Morgan of West Columbia, Essie Boyd of Houston, Lloyd and Betty Jackson of Bay City, Doris Floyd, Floyd and Bettye Jackson and Odessa and John Rentie, all of San Diego, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Rutherford Jackson and a daughter, Ruby Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Smith H. Jackson Jr., Darrell Morgan, Nathan Morgan, Reginald Perry, Ronald Perry and John W. Rentie Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Jackson, Smith Henry Jackson, Kenneth R. James, Spencer Morgan and deacons of Grove Hill Baptist Church.
Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay City.

Lewis Bell Jackson Funeral services for Lewis Bell Jackson, 67, of Pledger will be held noon Saturday at Grove Hill Baptist Church in Pledger with the Rev. F. R. Cones officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be held until 9 p. m. today at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 12, 1924, to Ira and Ella Robinson Jackson in Pledger and died April 12, 1991, in his home.
He was a retired agriculture teacher, a World War II veteran and belonged to the Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sweetie B. Jackson of Pledger; two sons, Lewis B. Jackson Jr. and Anthony Jackson of Pledger; three daughters, Janet E. Lotimer, Kathy E. Thompson and Constance Janell Jackson of Pledger; a granddaughter, Cheycara E. Lotimer of Pledger; a sister, Cleo Williams of San Antonio; a brother, Roosevelt Jackson of Pontiac, Mich.; an uncle, Andrew Jackson of West Columbia; and a family of friends and relatives.
Pallbearers are Robert Spradley, Herman Spradley, Unice Spradley, Charlie Harris, Freddie Amey and Raymond Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers are Lewis B. Jackson Jr., Ira Anthony Jackson, Lloyd Jackson, James White, Smith Jackson, Alfreddie Anderson and Roosevelt Jackson.
Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City.

Mrs. Willie B. Jackson Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Willie Bell Jackson, 83, of Pledger, 12 p. m. Saturday at the Grove Hill Baptist Church in Pledger.
Officiating at the services will be the Rev. F. R. Cross.
Jackson died May 17, 1982 at Matagorda General Hospital.
Survivors include husband, McKinley Jackson of Pledger; sisters, Mrs. Ella Burnett and Mrs. Maggie Lemon of Old Ocean, Mrs. Daisy Lee of Danciger; brothers, Dave Williams of Cedar Lane, A. C. Hilliard of Old Ocean, Pruett Hilliard of Old Ocean.
Visitation hours are today (Friday) at the funeral home chapel from 4 to 9 p. m. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 to 12.
Burial will follow services at Jones Cemetery in Pledger.
Active pallbearers include Lloyd Jackson, Lewis B. Jackson, Sr., John C. Floyd, Will Burnett, Charlie Burnett and Freddie Burnett.
