HOLMES HOLMES, Alice Roberta, 67, passed away in her home in Sweeny Tuesday night. She has been a resident of Sweeny for six years. She is survived by her husband T. O. Holmes of Sweeny, two daughters Mrs. Ross Fisher of Wharton, Mrs. C. W. Reese of Bay City, one son, James A. White of Houston, one sister, Mrs. Boyd Marsh of Colbert, Oklahoma, one brother, Mr. B. L. Robertson of Llano, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and the Rebekah Lodge number 79. Services will be held at Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will be held in a Wharton cemetery. The Daily Tribune, June 24, 1970
Final Rites Conducted For Norman O. White Tuesday Afternoon Final rites for Norman Oscar White, 56, a Matagorda County resident for 25 years, were held Tuesday from Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in a Wharton cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. W. L. Hughes and the Rev. C. N. Becton. Mr. White died at the local hospital Sunday. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Fisher, and Mrs. Lorene Reese; one son, James A.; one sister, Mrs. Martha Cerney; two brothers Hubie and Noah Huggins.
