Sergeant Glenn Ledale Gray (August 22, 1927 - August 1, 1950), son of Louis Wesley Gray (May 4, 1900 - February 1, 1958) and Alice Marie Orchard Gray Bradford (
September 27, 1904 – August 24, 1943) was born in Matagorda County and died in South Korea. He is buried in Section 6, Block 62 at Cedarvale Cemetery. His mother is also buried in Section 6, but in Block 12. His mother died in 1943, but he was survived by his father and brothers Leslie Winston Gray and Wesley Louis Gray.
 


Sergeant Gray was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on August 1, 1950. Sergeant Gray was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

Sgt. Glen L. Gray Reported Missing In Korean Action

Sgt. Glen L. Gray, with the army in Korea, has been reported missing in action.

He is the nephew of Odrian Rooth of Angleton. Mr. Rooth formerly lived in Bay City where he was engaged in rice farming.

He is presently connected with a water company in Angleton.

Mrs. Henry Bradford Killed

In Auto Crash Tuesday Eve.

 Car Turns Over When Rear Wheel Slides Off Road 

Mrs. Henry Bradford, 39, of East Sixth St., mother of three children, was killed instantly last evening about 8:30 when the car in which she was riding near Van Vleck, turned over as the rear left wheel slid from the road, as an attempt was made to pass another car.

Tom Biddle, worker at Sweeny, was injured but was released from the Matagorda General hospital this morning suffering from slight injuries and bruises. 

The car was completely demolished as it rolled over several times.

Mrs. Bradford is survived by her husband, Henry Bradford, who is in the army hospital at Camp White, Oregon.  She is also survived by three sons, Leslie Wenson Gray, Wesley Lewis Gray, and Glen Ladell Gray; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Orchard of Bay City.  Two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Mae [B?L?]ackner, and Mrs. Annie Berniece Rooth; three brothers, Paul H. Orchard of Brazoria, George Henry Orchard of Kingsville and William Orville Orchard of Tulsa, also survive.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Bros., but no announcement of the time of the funeral has been announced, pending further arrangements.

Wreck Victim 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Henry Bradford, 39, victim of an automobile wreck at Van Vleck Tuesday evening at 8:30, will be held Friday afternoon at [?].

Taylor Bros. are in charge of the arrangements and burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery.

Mr. Henry Bradford, soldier, stationed at Camp White, Oregon, husband of the deceased, will arrive Friday for the service.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children and her parents all living in Bay City.
