Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Arnold of Bay City received word Saturday that their son, Calvin L. Arnold, was killed in a fall while on duty with the Air Force in France.
Arnold, 23, was killed Saturday. No details on how the accident occurred were available.
Born and raised in Bay City where he attended public school, Arnold is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lorena Jean Landry of Ft. Bragg, N.C., and Miss Paula Ruth Arnold, and two brothers, Eddie Arnold and Robert Louis Arnold, both of Bay City, in addition to his parents.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

Calvin Arnold Funeral Held
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. this morning at Holy Cross Catholic Church for Airman Calvin L. Arnold, 23, killed in a fall in France May 27. Interment followed in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Rosary was held Sunday night.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Arnold of Bay City; two sisters, Mrs. Lorena Jean Landrey of Ft. Bragg, N.C. and Miss Paula Ruth Arnold of Bay City; two brothers’ Eddie and Robert Lewis Arnold, both of Bay City.

Ruth Mangum Arnold returned to her Lord on Monday, Nov. 18, 1996.
Born in Bay City to Robert E. and Annie Mangum on Jan. 20, 1922, she was a long time resident of Bay City. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Woodmen of the World, the Catholic Daughters of America and other similar organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Arnold, a daughter, Lorna Jean Landry, and a son, Calvin L. Arnold. She is survived by a sister, Ruby Mock of Victoria, two brothers, Richard Mangum of Freeport and Ray Mangum of Columbus, a daughter, Paula Arnold of Bay City, two sons, Col. Ed Arnold of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and Robert Arnold of Austin, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited at the Taylor Brothers chapel Wednesday, Nov 20 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Taylor Brothers Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park officiated by Msgr. Brunner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Pallbearers will consist of her nephews.
Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Edwin Jacob Arnold, 57, a resident of Bay City passed away February 6 at his residence. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a veteran of WWII, member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles, a 30 year member of the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, and American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Ruth Mangum Arnold of Bay City; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lorna Jean Landry of El Paso and Paula Ruth Arnold of Bay City; 2 sons, Edwin J. Arnold, Jr. of Augusta, Georgia and Robert Louis Arnold of Bay City; 1 sister, Mrs. Frieda Ewart of Heightstown New Jersey; 1 brother, Nelson Arnold of Victoria; 3 grandchildren, James Marshall, Davis Allen and Cheryl Ann Landry.
Funeral services are pending at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
