Funeral services for Christine Stredic, 68, of Pledger will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Grove hill Baptist Church, Pledger, with the Rev. Frank Cones officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Pledger.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

Mrs. Stredic was born May 21, 1920, in Matagorda County, Texas, to Lee and Fredricker James Jones and died Dec. 28, 1988, at Methodist Hospital, Houston.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Doris Jones of Richmond; a stepson, Roy Murray of Pledger; two sisters, Ella Washington and Dorothy Jackson, both of Pledger; a brother, Curtis Jones of Pledger; two sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; three grandchildren, Brandi, Tera and Dominique Jones of Richmond; and several other relatives.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City.

Ollistine Strauther

Strauther, Ollistine, age 79, died in Angleton April 14. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at Grove Hill Baptist Church Pledger with Rev. H. L. Landers officiating. Mrs. Strauther, a resident of Pledger is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Velma Tlummer, and Mrs. V. L. Jackson of Pledger, Mrs. Lurlene Amey, Mrs. Leotis Hanchett and Mrs. Leola Roberson all of Port Arthur, five sons, Roosevelt Spradley, Clarence Spradley and Carlos Jackson all of Pledger, Ira Jackson and Sam Strauther of Freeport, two brothers, Frank Spradley of Pledger. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
