Richard Clyde Ware

Richard Clyde Ware, 68, a resident of Collegeport for 35 years and a retired farmer passed away June 20 at his residence. Survivors include: wife, Bessie Mae Ware of Collegeport; 2 daughters, Mrs. James Slone and Mrs. James Rector both of San Antonio; 2 sons, Jimmy Mack Ware and Richard Clyde Ware both of Houston; 1 sister, Mrs. Joe B. Marshall of Madisonville; 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held June 22 at 3 p. m. at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with Mr. N. E. Balsh of the Palacios Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at the Hawley Cemetery with pallbearers being: Mason Holsworth, Thomas Holsworth, Earl Williams, Johnny Williams, Gerald Wells, and Don Fowler. Arrangements with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Bessie Mae Jenkins Ware

Funeral services for Bessie Mae Jenkins Ware, 75, of Collegeport will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Hollie Briscoe officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Blessing.

Mrs. Ware was born May 28, 1910, in Hamilton, Texas, to Freeland F. and Annie Duncan Jenkins and died Feb. 2, 1986, at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Wharton.

A resident of Collegeport since 1928, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collegeport.

Survivors include two daughters, Bobbye Slone of Bay City and Ann Rector of Spring; two sons, Richard C. Ware Jr. of Tyler and Jimmy Mack Ware of Collegeport; a sister, Lottie B. Knight of Centerville, Texas; two brothers, Joe Frank Jenkins of Collegeport and Austin L. Jenkins of Centerville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Mason Holsworth, Thomas Holsworth, Russell Corporon, James Robert Murry, Frederick Huitt and Gerald Wells.

Honorary pallbearers include W. L. Ellis, Tom Simpson, Andy Johnson, Dean Merck, J. C. Slone Sr. and Dick Corporon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clyde Ware.

Bertha Mae Ware
Jun 22, 1929 - Dec 16, 1929

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ware (Bessie Jenkins) after a struggle for life during the past two weeks died Monday and was buried Tuesday. The little child first taken with meningitis developed pneumonia. Bessie Jenkins is well known as she was one of our school pupils and was practically brought up in the community. The parents have the sympathy of al who know them.

Annie Bell Rector

Funeral services for Annie Bell Ware Rector, 64, of Spring Branch, Texas will be at 2 p. m. today, May 19 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny James officiating. Interment will be at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.

Rector died May 16 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. She was born May 31, 1993 in Centerville, Texas to the late Richard Clyde and Bessie Jenkins Ware, Sr.

She was a resident of Spring Branch for the past 20 years and a former long-time resident of Collegeport. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James A. Rector of Spring Branch; a daughter, Nancy Burns of Kerrville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Greg Dunn of Odessa, Texas, Kenneth A. and Jackie Rector of The Colony, Texas, and James A. and Deann Rector of Jonestown, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Bobbye and James Slone of Bay City; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Tina Ware of Houston; four grandchildren, Rachael Purnell, Katti and Kelli Burns and Josh Rector; four nieces, Mary Shiloh, Kelly Shiloh, Dana Drouin and Chrystina Weeks; seven nephews, Jerry Slone, Jimmy Slone, Richard Clyde Ware, III, Richard Clyde Ware, IV, Tyler Ware, Tanner Ware, and Weston Weeks.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James L. Dunn; and a brother, Jimmy Mac Ware.

Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Richard Clyde Ware Jr.

December 6, 1936 – June 22, 2010

Richard C. Ware, Jr., 73 passed away on June 22, 2010 in a Houston hospital. Mr. Ware was born to Richard C. Ware, Sr. and Bessie Mae Ware in Palacios, TX on December 6, 1936. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Ware is survived by his children Dana Murphy and her husband Jack, and Richard C. Ware, III; step-children Cynthia Fedock, Mark Hall, and James Hall; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Opal Ware who passed away in June of 2009. The family will receive friends at San Jacinto Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in San Jacinto Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Cole officiating.

Jimmy Mack Ware

Funeral services for Jimmy Mack Ware, 43, of Palacios are scheduled for 2 p. m. Sunday at the Taylor Brothers Chapel in Bay City. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.

Mr. Ware was born Dec. 4, 1943 in Collegeport to Richard Clyde and Bessie Mae Jenkins Ware and died April 23, 1987.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Anne Rector of Spring Branch, Texas, and Bobbye Slone of Bay City and a brother, Richard Ware of Tyler, Texas.

Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.
