Miller, an old and highly respected citizen of Markham, died at that place Friday morning, July 25, aged seventy-two years. Mr. Miller was born in Hanover Germany, February 14, 1841, and came to America with his parents at the age of eleven years. The family settled in Adam[s] County, Illinois. He was wedded to Miss Tine Sathoff in 1863 and in 1865 moved to Nebraska, where they resided until 1899 when they moved to this county. Mr. Miller was county treasurer of Gage County, Nebraska, for three full terms, and was tax collector for a number of years. Mr. Miller was a farmer, and was a very successful one. He was successful in his business transactions, and was always honest and straight forward in all his dealings with his fellow man. He was held in the highest esteem in the community in which he spent his declining years. Immediate relatives surviving him are as follows: Two sisters and one brother, Mr. E. J. Ehmfen, Le Prairie, Ill.; Mrs. Hannah Weaver, Victor, Colorado; and Mr. H. G. Miller, Dalton, Nebr.; sons and daughters: John F. Miller, Kalispel, Montana; Martin Miller, Mrs. R. A. Miller, Mrs. Henry Daubendick, Beatrice, Nebr.; Mrs. Martin Koenig, Olpie, Kansas; Geo. F., Fred C. and H. H. Miller of Markham, and his widow. Matagorda County Tribune, August 1, 1913

Mary/Marie Elizabeth Koenig Both buried Conrad Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana John F. Miller John F. Miller was born to Katze and Foulke Miller in Golden, Adams county, Illinois on April 11, 1866, the eldest child in a family of eight. He grew up in Golden and there received his education. On January 11, 1892 he was united in marriage to Marie Elizabeth Koenig of Beatrice, Nebraska. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. In August, 1900, Mr. Miller and his family came to the Flathead valley from Texas and settled in the Pine Grove community. Six years later they moved to Kalispell and had since made their home. Mr. Miller had been employed for a number of years as a projector in the local theaters. He passed away on Nov. 7, 1948 at his residence at 195 Third avenue east north after a lingering illness. He was 82 years of age. Mrs. Miller preceded him in death here on September 4, 1947. Surviving Mr. Miller are his two sons, Fred J. Miller of Spokane, and Theodore A. Miler of Kalispell; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Campbell of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. W. W. Wensinger of Washington, D. C., and Louise Miller of Kalispell; also two grandchildren, John and Richard Miller; one sister, Mrs. R. A. Miller of Venango, Nebraska, and a brother, Herman H. Miller, of Long Beach, California. Mr. Miller was a life-long member of and took an active interest in the Trinity Lutheran church and the community of Kalispell. Mary Elizabeth Miller was born to Margaret and
Theodore Koenig in Baltimore, Maryland on October 21, 1866. At the
age of 10 she came with her parents to Beatrice, Nebraska to make
her home. On January 14, 1892, she was married to John F. Miller and
this union was born two sons and three daughters.

Hannah Miller Koenig had been in ill health for
many years. She and her husband came to Flathead Valley in 1899. In
1902 they moved to Oklahoma. There she became ill. In the hope of
finding relief for her, the family moved to Kansas in 1905. However
it was found that the climate of Flathead had agreed with her better
than any other, so the family returned to this valley in 1908 and
has been living here since then. About two weeks ago Mrs. Koenig
became seriously ill. She was taken to the hospital last Thursday,
but on Friday afternoon she succumbed. The Daily Inter Lake, Kalispell, Montana, November 17, 1924 Martin H. Koenig Passes Away Suddenly Martin H. Koenig passed away Saturday evening after a brief illness having been at his usual work only the day before. He was 60 years of age and had farmed north of Kalispell for about 12 years, moving to town a few years ago after the death of Mrs. Koenig. The body is at the Waggener and Campbell chapel and funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran church by Rev. Albert Jordan. Interment will be made in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

Married Both buried Danevang Lutheran Church Cemetery, Danevang, Wharton County, Texas Sarah G. Minton Markham—Sarah G. Miller Minton, 79, of Markham, died at a Bay City hospital Wednesday after a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 21, 1902 in Fayetteville, Texas, she was a longtime resident of the Bay City and Markham areas in Matagorda County. Funeral services will be held at 4 p. m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City. The Rev. Leroy Stanton will officiate. Burial will be in the Danevang Lutheran Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Clara May Hiltpold, of Markham; a sister, May G. Wilkinson of Dallas; and two brothers, Chester F. Gloeckner of Pierce, Texas, and William Gloeckner of Wharton. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home of Bay City is in charge of arrangements.
