Frederick Law, Sr., married Beryl Bell in Bay City, Texas, on December 24, 1934. Beryl was the daughter of C. R. and Mary Campbell Bell of Rosharon, who had lived and farmed rice in Matagorda County earlier. Beryl was graduated from the Wadsworth school at the age of fourteen and was enrolled at Southwestern University by the age of fifteen. She was so young that Southwestern University was the only school that would accept her; the other schools said, "wait until she is a year older!" In 1923 she and several other teachers from Southwestern University began their teaching careers in the Bay City school system, and she taught there until 1927. She later received her degree from San Marcos State Teachers College and taught school at Wadsworth, Pledger, Van Vleck, and Collegeport.
Frederick and Beryl Law had four children:
Frederick Robbins Law, Jr., born on May 17, 1937, who married Bonnie Sue Fox on June 24, 1956. They had three children: Frederick Harold, who married Sherri Stansell on January 25, 1986; Vicki Lynn, who married Dr. Lee Jan and had two children, Leigh Anne and Charles Robbins; and Allen Woodward, who married Beth Abshier.
Their second child was Constance Merle Law married James Frederick Huitt on March 12, 1960. They had three children: James Frederick, Jr., who married Kelli Hunt and had a child Traylor Hunt; Hank Earl; and Hutch Campbell.
The Law's third child was James Russell Law, born on October 19,
1940, who married Mary Ann Hooper on June 5, 1966. They had three
children: Robin Lynn, Karen Kaye and Debra Anne.
Their fourth child was Stewart Woodward Law, born on April 4, 1942, and died on April 11, 1942.
Frederick and Beryl Law’s children attended school in Collegeport and Palacios. Connie was graduated from San Houston State University, and Frederick, Jr. was graduated from Commonwealth School of Morticians.
Frederick and Beryl Law’s farm and ranching lands were situated in the Collegeport area. After Frederick, Sr., retired, Frederick, Jr., and James Russell assumed the operation of the farm and ranch, and enlarged their acreage at Collegeport.
Frederick Law, Sr., died on May 2, 1978, in Bay City, and Beryl continued to live there in 1984.

Fred Law – Long Time Farmer In Collegeport Dies At Age 76
Lifelong Collegeport resident Fred R. Law died Tuesday at the
Matagorda General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Law was born in Matagorda and in 1931 joined his parents and two
brothers in the rice farming industry in Collegeport. In 1934 he
married the former Beryl Bell on Christmas Eve and the couple moved
to Brazoria County to farm for several years.
Mr. and Mrs. Law moved back to Collegeport in 1936 and set up a
permanent residence where he continued farming and it was here the
couple raised their three children.
Fred Law was known throughout the county all his life as a rice
farmer from Collegeport and although he did not join various
organizations he did devote much time to his family and the farming
industry.
In 1968 Law retired from farming due to ill health and he and his
wife moved to Bay City in June two years ago. Funeral services will be held May 5 at 2 p. m. at the First Baptist Church.
Fred R. Law Fred R. Law, 76, a resident of Bay City died May 2 at the Matagorda General Hospital. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Collegeport was a life resident of Matagorda County, and was a retired rice farmer. Survivors include wife, Mrs. Beryl Bell Law of Bay City; daughter, Mrs. Fred Huitt of Palacios; two sons Fred R. Law Jr. and Russell Law of Bay City; two brothers, Francis and Galen Savage of Bay City; 9 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held May 5 at 2 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. W. D. Baker and E. Leon Maxwell officiating. Interment will be at the Cedarvale Cemetery with pallbearers being Harley S. Savage, Francis Savage Jr., Galen E. Funeral services for Beryl Bell Law, 86, of Bay City, will be held 3:00 PM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Bay City, with the Rev. David Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Mrs. Law was born August 21, 1905, in Bay City to Charles Russell and Mary Eliza Bell, and died June 18, 1992, at Matagorda General Hospital. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a lifelong resident of Matagorda County.
Mrs. Law taught school in Matagorda County and was a member of the Matagorda County Retired Teachers Association. She was an active member of the Matagorda County Federation Home Demonstration Club, a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Collegeport and the Collegeport Women’s Club, the Plus Ultra Class at First Presbyterian Church in Bay City and the Bay City Book Review Club.
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Fred Huitt of Palacios; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred R. Jr. and Bonnie Law and Russell and Nancy Law of Bay City; two sisters, Daisy Bell of Bay City and Marylee Winn of Uvalde; grandchildren, Hutch Huitt of Austin, Hank Huitt of Palacios, Jay Huitt of Bay City, Vicki Jan of Buda, Fred H. Law of Bay City, Allen Law of Paradise, Robin Law of Huntsville, Karen Law and Debra Law of Bay City and Paige Munson of San Marcos; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hart Soli, John Huebner, John Merck, Thomas Holsworth, Gus Franzen and Gerald Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lee Jan, Allen Law, Hutch Huitt, Jay Huitt, Fred H. Law and Hank Huitt.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Fred R. Law, Sr. in 1978 and by a son, Stewart Woodward Law.
Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City.

Stewart Woodard Law April 4, 1945 – April 11, 1945
Stewart Woodard Law, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Law of Collegeport, died Wednesday, April 11, at 1:55 AM in Bay City. He was seven days of age.
Survivors are his parents, two brothers, Frederick and James Russell, and one sister, Constance Merle, all of Collegeport.
Rev. Aubrey C. Maxted officiated at the funeral rites Wednesday afternoon at 5:00, with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery.

Frederick McCullough Robbins Law, Jr. of Bay City, Texas went to be
with the Lord on February 16, 2022.
Fred was born in Bay City, Texas on March 17, 1937. He was raised
in Collegeport, Texas and graduated from Palacios High School in
1955. He attended Commonwealth College of Science in Houston and
obtained his mortician license on July 17, 1958.
Fred married Bonnie Sue Fox on June 24, 1956. He was a funeral
director at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home and Settegast-Kopf in
Houston. Fred was a farmer in Collegeport, Texas for most of his
life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bay City where he
was deacon for many years, and also attended First Baptist Church of
Palacios for several years.
Fred is survived by daughter Vicki Jan (Lee), son Fred H. Law
(Sherri), son Allen Law, grandchildren Leigh Anne Lake (Scott),
Robby Jan, Rachel Hart (Stephen), Regan Law (fiancé, Brad), Dani
Riedell (Hayden), and Morgan Gualy (Alejandro), great-grandchildren
Bryson Lake, Braydon Lake, Remington Jan, Finnian Jan, Cayden
Riedell, Brek Riedell, Emerson Riedell, Joanna Hart, and Andrew
Hart. He is also survived by sister Constance Huitt and
sisters-in-law Linda Rogers (Rothey) and Margaret Fox, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Bonnie
Law, parents Fred R. Law, Sr. and Beryl Law, and brothers James
Russell Law and Stewart Woodward Law.
Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at First
Baptist Church of Bay City, followed by the funeral service at 10:00
a.m. with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Allen Law, Scott Lake, Robby Jan, Stephen Hart,
Robby Woodard, G.W. Franzen, Roger Harris, and Ken Kauffman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Jan, Hayden Riedell, Alejandro
Gualy, and Brad Landrum. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, First Baptist Church of Bay City, or First Baptist Church of Palacios.

Bonnie Sue Law Bonnie Sue Fox Law, 80, of Bay City, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2018. She was born in Palacios Texas on April 5, 1938 to the late Clyde and Beulah Fox. Bonnie graduated from Bay City High School in 1956. She met and married Fred R. Law Jr. on June 24, 1956. They had three children, Vicki Lynn Jan, Fred H. Law, and Allen W. Law. While raising her children, Bonnie attended Houston Baptist University and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Bonnie taught history and government at John Foster Dulles High School and Bay City High School for 27 years. She sponsored several high school clubs and received numerous honors and awards. Bonnie was Sunday school teacher for many years and an active member of First Baptist Church Bay City and Palacios. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fred R. Law Jr. Her children Vicki Jan (Dr. Lee Jan), Fred H. Law (Sherri), and Allen W. Law. Her grandchildren Leigh Anne Lake (Scott), Robby Jan (Rhiannon), Rachel Hart (Stephen), Regan Law, Dani Riedell (Hayden), and Morgan Law. Her great grandchildren Bryson Lake, Braden Lake, Remington Jan, Joanna Hart, Cayden Riedell, and Brek Riedell. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Bay City. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Bay City with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Funeral services for James Russell Law, 53, will be held at 11:00 a.
m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 1994 at the First United Methodist Church with
Rev. Jim Welch and Rev. Burford Finley officiating. Burial will
follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Mr. Law was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Bay City to Frederick and Beryl
Cornelia Bell Law and died Aug. 13, 1994, at St. Luke’s Hospital in
Houston.
A member of the First United Methodist Church in Bay City, he had
been a practicing attorney in Bay City since Jan. 2, 1967. He
graduated from the University of Texas in 1963 with a BBA, graduated
from the University of Texas Law School in 1966 and was a member of
the Matagorda County Bar Association, The State Bar of Texas, The
American Judicature Society. He was elected to the board of The
Matagorda County Fair and Livestock Association in 1983, served as
an Executive Committee Member from 1984 to 1991, and served as
president of the association 1987-1989. He was a life member of the
100 Club of Matagorda County and a Director for the Chamber of
Commerce from 1973-1975.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Law of Bay City; four daughters
and a son-in-law, Robin Law of Conroe, Karen Kaye Law and Debra Anne
Law, both of Kyle and Paige Danielle and Carey Massey of Austin; a
sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Fred Huitt of Palacios; a
brother and sister-in-law, Fred R. Jr. and Bonnie Law of Bay City
and a grandson, Drew Dalton Massey of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his father on May 2, 1978, by his mother
on June 18, 1992, and by a daughter, Robin Dyan Munson on March 11,
1989.
Pallbearers will be E. M. Huitt, Clyde Ashcraft, Russell Matthes,
Bill Baker, John Merck, Jim Gann, J. C. Stanley and O. B. Stanley.
Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home of Bay City.
