Last Sunday night, Aug. 17, at 7:30 o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. Thomas R. Horne and Miss Lena Knowles were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. While this even has been anticipated for some time, it came as a surprise to most every one as only a few of the intimate friends knew the exact date. This wedding was a very quiet little home affair. Only a very few of the relatives and friends were present. The bridal couple entered the door from an adjoining room and as they approached the center of the parlor Rev. J. T. Griswold met them and in a few impressive words made them husband and wife. The bride's dress was of pure white chiffon, beautiful in its simplicity, and she carried in her hand a bouquet of white roses. She was indeed a lovely bride. The groom wore the conventional black and looked the straightforward, upright character that he is. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Knowles and is well known, having lived in Moody since early childhood. Her lovable disposition and sweet manners have won for her many friends and admirers. The groom, who is one of Moody's best young business men, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nep. Horne, who are among the oldest settlers of this country. He is highly esteemed by all who know him for his integrity and many noble qualities. The many friends of the two young people wish for them the greatest possible happiness in this life. A FRIEND. The groom is a son of Mr. Nep. Horne, and also well known here. He is one of Moody's young business men, and by his upright life has won the confidence of his fellowman. He has scores of warm friends all over this country, who rejoice with him in his happiness and who are proud of the wise step he has taken.
The Courier joins the hosts of friends in
bidding this happy couple a long, happy and useful life. |
