Funeral services for Mary Ella Trent 89, of Bay City, will be held Saturday June 17, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Jesus Freewill Holiness Church with Bishop John Johnson pastor and Elder Lester Colter officiating. Burial will follow at East View Cemetery in Bay City. Mrs. Trent will lie in state at the church Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Visitation will be Friday afternoon until 9 p.m. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. in the chapel at Green's. She was born June 30, 1910 to the union of Sam Henderson Polk and Doshia Ann Gray Polk in Lowita, Oklahoma. She passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at the Bay Villa Nursing Home.

Survivors are two nephews Henderson Polk and Edna of Bay City, Billie Polk and Cherrie of Live Oak, Texas; four nieces, Dorothy Mae Nelson, Ella Mae Harris and Bertina Walker of Houston, and Lois Harris of Detroit Michigan; god daughter Debra William of Inkster, Michigan. She raised Shelia Johnson of Houston, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her son A. D. Johnson, Jr.; sister Fannie Tapscott and brother James Polk preceded her in death.

Active pallbearers are: James Polk, Lester Polk, Chavis Wilcox, Warren Polk, Herbert Lee Polk, and Michael Dawson. Honorary pallbearers are Henderson Polk, Sr. and Billie Polk. Green's Motruary is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services for Wayde Kapiece Wallace, 20, of Houston, will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. L. C. Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. A wake will be held from 7 to 9 pm today at Green’s Mortuary Chapel.  The body will lie in state at the church from noon to 1 pm.

Mr. Wallace was born Aug. 12, 1964, to Thomas E. and Phyllis J. Royster Wallace in Bay City, and died April 22, 1985, in Houston.

He attended Bay City High School and Aldine High School in Houston and was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis J. Frazier, and step-father, Richard Frazier of Houston; a sister, Karla Y. Barnes of Houston and Jeffery Royster of Germany; a grandmother, Essie Royster of Houston; three aunts, Mary Smith, Beulah Brown and Ardessie Royster, all of Bay City; two uncles, Ira Royster and George Reeves of Bay City; his fiancée, Dietrich Payton of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Samuel Miller, Eric Revis, Edward Smith Jr., Lamont Lewis, Bobby Stredic and Henry Brinkley Jr.

Honorary pallbearers include Jeffery Royster, Ronald Royster, Phillip Royster, George Reeves, Ira Royster and Richard Frazier.

Arrangement are with Green’s Mortuary.
