Henry McBride Services for Mr. Henry McBride, 86, of Bay City are set for 1 pm Monday at Tyree Chapel AME Church, Bay City, with the Rev. Roy W. Brown officiating. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery. Visitation is set from 3 to 9 pm Sunday at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. McBride, who was born July 29, 1899, in Danciger, Texas, died Oct. 24, 1985, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. He was the son of Henry and Sarah Baugh McBride, both of whom preceded him in death by his wife. He was a member of the Methodist church and of Gulf Coast Lodge No. 272. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roxie O’Neal and Mrs. Elnora Parks, both of Bay City; a son, Lemmon C. McBride of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Alberta Paige of Pledger; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. Active pallbearers are the stewards, trustees and laymen of Tyree Chapel AME Church.

Lucille McGrue Funeral services for Lucille “Baby Doll” McGrue, 61, of Bay City will be held 2 pm Sunday at Enterprise Baptist Church, the Rev. L. V. Harvey. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held until 9 pm Saturday in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home and 1-2 pm Sunday in the church. Mrs. McGrue was born March 5, 1926, in Wharton County to L. E. and Alja Montgomery Johnson and died Jan. 6, 1988, at John Sealy Hospital, Galveston. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include her husband, Dave McGrue Jr. of Bay City; a son, Edwin Ray McGrue of Bay City; a godson, Frank James Jr. of Van Vleck; a foster daughter, Mrs. Arbodeen James of El Campo; a foster son, Lawrence Howray Jr. of Houston; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johnson of Bay City; a sister Emma Jewel Earls of Bay City; a grandson, DaMarcus Rayshawn; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relative and a family of friends. Active pallbearers include Randall Knapp, Lawrence Howray, Jerry Stredic, Jimmy Gipson, Arthur James, Randy Brown and Bobby Flannel. Honorary pallbearers include Dave McGrue Jr., Edwin McGrue, Cortland Byrd, Tracy Williams, A. C. Tellison, R. H. Jackson, Gary Alliniece and Michael Ezell Spiller. Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.
