Robert (Bob) Johnson, 69, a resident of Bay City, passed away at his residence November 27. Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Eliza Johnson of Bay City; 1 sister, Mrs., Claraethel Eidson of Cedar Lane; 2 brothers, Sam Johnson Sr. of Bay City and Coleman Johnson of California; 1 aunt, Mrs. Patsy Rhodes of West Columbia.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, at 2 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church in Bay City with Rev. L. C. Cunningham officiating.  Interment will be at the Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.

Mrs. Sallie Johnson, 83, a resident of Bay City for the past 23 years and a lifelong resident of Matagorda County passed away in the Matagorda General Hospital.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Services will be held at Mother Zion Baptist Church of Bay City on Friday at 2 pm with the Rev. L. R. James officiating.  Interment will be held in the Eastview Cemetery. Duncan Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

BAY CITY—Samuel Johnson Jr., 74, of Bay City died Tuesday, Mary 25, 2004. He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Live Oak, to the late Samuel Sr. and Estella Rugeley Johnson.

Survivors; daughters, Sammy Murphy and Kimberly Eaton, both of Bay City; sons, Brian Johnson of Mississippi and Kevin Johnson of Bay City; sister, Naomi Williams of Houston; brother, Willie Johnson Sr. of Houston; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-9 pm today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Saturday at Enterprise Baptist Church, the Revs. J Weldon Gilbert and Maurice Jones officiating. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery.

Funeral services for Amy Armstead Jones, 79, of Bay City, are scheduled for 2 pm Saturday at Tyree Chapel AME Church in Bay City with her son, the Rev. Walter Jones III, officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.

Visitation will be until 9 pm at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City and from 1-2 pm Saturday at Tyree Chapel AME Church.

Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 12, 1913 in Galveston to Henry and Millie Williams Armstead and died Dec. 11, 1993 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Survivors include two daughters, Edith Hilliard Evans of Elizabeth, N. J. and Dorothy Hilliard Scott of Bay City; two sons, John Hilliard of Houston and the Rev. Walter Jones III of Los Angles Calif.; four sisters, Alma Robinson of Bay City, Edith Gray of Evergreen, Ala., Mildred Norman of Houston and Marion McDaniels of Houston; an uncle, Joel Williams of Cedar Lake; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and kin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Heny and Millie Williams Armstead and her husband, Walter Jones Sr.

Pallbearers are Carlton Hilliard, Darryl Hilliard, Eric Hilliard, Grover Hilliard, Willie Lee Boone Jr., Benjamin Scott Jr., Craig Hilliard, Robbie Hilliard and Robbie Hilliard Jr.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay City.

Services for Cirvan Jones, 69, of Clute were scheduled for 11 am today at Enterprise Baptist Church, with the Rev. M. L. Fields officiating. Burial was to follow at Eastview Cemetery.

There was a wake from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday in the chapel at Green’s Mortuary, and the body was to lie in state from 10 to 11 am today at the church.

Mr. Jones, born Oct. 22, 1916, in Richmond, Calif., to Phil and Mamie Thorton Jones, died at the veteran’s hospital in Houston Dec. 22, 1985. He was a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by two daughters, Sherrie Munis of Bay City and Marva Tanner of San Francisco, Calif.; two sons, Charles Jones of San Francisco, Calif., and the Rev. Alfred Jones of Beaumont; a sister, Mrs. Ester Lemon of Bay City; a brother, Ernest Jones of Baytown; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers included Horace Jones, Chawyer K. Jones, Maurice Jones, Soloman Munis, Robert Windle and George Tanner Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were sons, grandsons and nephews.
