DR. EDWARD F. PESEK,
MD
BAY CITY - Dr.
Edward F. Pesek, MD, 80, of Bay City, passed away Wednesday,
Oct. 14, 2009. He was born May 1, 1929, in Wharton, to Frank J.
Pesek and Agnes Studney Pesek. He was a 1955 graduate of the
Baylor College of Medicine and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice
Elizabeth Yoakum Pesek; his brother, Robert Pesek; and his
cousin, Henry Studney.
He is survived by his dear friends: Diane Tyra, Marilyn Bonner,
and Frederick Garcia, and numerous cousins. He is also survived
by his friends and colleagues, Dr. James E. Cowart, MD and Dr.
Joseph N. Cannon, MD.
A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at Taylor
Bros. Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held 9 a.m. today,
Oct. 17, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey
Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale
Cemetery in Bay City.
Pallbearers will be Frederick Garcia, Robert Farley, Kirk Carr,
Don Simons, Elizabeth Bridges, Francis Comeaux, and Garrett
Comeaux.

Alice Elizabeth Ellis Pesek
Funeral services for Alice Elizabeth Pesek, 62,
of Bay City were scheduled for 2 p. m. today at Sixth Street Church
of Christ with Shan Jackson of Palacios officiating. Burial to
follow at Cedarvale Cemetery, Bay City.
Mrs. Pesek was born July 23, 1927, in Hope, Ark.,
to William Luther and Alice Viola King Ellis and died Jan. 27, 1990,
at Matagorda General Hospital.
She was a member of the Sixth Street Church of
Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Edward F.
Pesek of Bay City; a son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Nancy
Yocum of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two sisters, Dorothy Cook and Jeanette
Sliva of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Gary Simons, Frank James,
Richard Starnes, Steve Sliva, Jesse Jackson, Joey Sliva, Frank Baker
and Charles Ryan.
Services are under the direction of Dick R.
Elkins, Bay City Funeral Home.
