Collegeport was founded by the Burton D. Hurd Land Company on May 25, 1908. Plans are in the works for a centennial celebration in 2008.

Heavy
rains didn’t dampen spirits at the 99th Annual
Collegeport Day Celebration held at Mopac House on Saturday, May 26.
The traditional barbecue and covered dish dinner was enjoyed by
approximately 200 residents and friends who gathered inside the
community house and library for an afternoon of food and
fellowship. A slide show depicting the history of the Collegeport
Community was featured in the library, along with other historical
archives.
