Mr. Everett Suladie, son of Mrs. Jno. Suladie, and Miss Jessie Southard, an old friend, were visitors at the Suladie home last week. Mr. Suladie has been employed in the Orange field with the Higgins Oil Co. A dance was given in honor of his return and was enjoyed by all present. Mr. T. G. Rice and family moved from the oil field today, and will probably make their future home at Edgerly, La., as nearly all who leave here are going there. Operations in the field are nearly standstill at present, but think activities will be resumed in the near future. The ditching machine, which has been digging up all the country around the oil field, is now digging a ditch near town. A small party went out to visit the machine last night and had quite a time. Most of the party did not want to go at first, but once started there was no stopping them, and they went through water and mud nearly all the way there. One of the party lost one of their low quarters but was easily located. No named mentioned. Lawrence Miller is visiting Clemville this week. Miss Minnie Suladie, Mr. Everett Suladie, Miss Jesse Southard, Mrs. Daughters, Geo. Daughters motored to Bay City Friday afternoon. Geo. Daughters is at Bay City hospital taking treatments of Dr. Jones for catarrh of the stomach. Harley Daughters, L. C. Stensoff, Jim Womack, A. P. Bess motored to Bay City Tuesday afternoon. The farmers in the vicinity of Clemville are making rapid progress with their farming. R. D. Smith has brought the little brown mule back to Clemville. Now Robert can take his girl out for a drive. Otto Middlebrook of Clemville stopped by Wednesday night to cheer us on and to say he, too, couldn't get all his "go" into daylight. He was on the way home in his car. Mrs. Middlebrook has started a Rhode Island Red farm and will be heard from soon.

Dr. Brooks paid the field a visit last week. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell an eight pound boy on April 11. Mr. J. L. Bandy went to Bay City Monday and returned Tuesday. Bob Bandy and bride of Bay City came out Monday and stayed until Wednesday with Mrs. Linn.

Mr. Everett Suladie and Bob Smith paid Markham a visit Sunday afternoon. Bob Bandy, Leo Pile, Abe Beake, of Bay City were out Tuesday and spend the day with Mrs. Linn. Mr. Charlie Daughters went to Sour Lake Tuesday on business and will return Friday. Mr. Jim Carrol paid Houston a visit this week. Mr. Bandy went to Bay City Wednesday. It rained here wavly all last week, but things have dried out awfully these few dry days. They have decided to go deeper on the new "Tate" well and are putting on the strainer; they had dry gas. Prospects are fine for a good well in the next 35 feet. On the Guffey well they have twisted off again but are going to side-track and go on drilling. Mr. Joe Maynard and Frank Johnson visited Bay City Tuesday night. Mr. Teddie Miller went to Houston Tuesday on business. Mr. Bob Smith and Everett Suladie went to Bay City Tuesday on business.

BAY CITY, Texas, March 14—After drilling for only 30 days the Ten Strike Oil company brought in on last Saturday a good producing oil well in the Clemville field. The well was sunk to a depth of 1400 feet, and its daily capacity is 200 barrels. It is a pumper. This company is composed of League City men, B. L. Perkins. The well was drilled by Ed Wilkins, a driller.

As time goes by more definite and reliable reports are reaching news concentrating points, and a clearer idea as to the extent of the damage done is obtained. At Clemville, which is in the Markham oil fields, considerable damage was done, which is estimated upon reliable authority to reach $6000 to derricks and other property and from which point the first report was to the effect that the damage was slight. C. G. Hamill, one of the largest operators in that field, is authority for the corrected report. No lives however were lost there.

BAY CITY, Texas, Jan. 22—In boring for deep oil at Clemville the Texas Company opened a gas pocket. Force of the gas compelled abandonment of drilling. So terrific is the pressure that the roar or it can be distinctly heard a mile away. A few years ago the same company drilled this well and struck gas. They abandoned the well as an oil project, but utilized the gas for fuel in the Clemville shops and pumps. Later on the gas was weak and some time ago the same company began to drill deeper in the well. The present outburst is going wild.

EDITORIAL. The Work of the P. T. A. The Parent-Teachers Association work is something new for this community, but it is growing in interest and membership. It was first organized in 1923 with Mr. N. W. Terry as president. The work was new and bad weather existed, but in spite of this several interesting meetings were held. Last year Mrs. Frank Johnson was president and 18 members paid. The association enrolled as a member of the state organization for the first time. They erected four swings and got the lumber on the ground for three see-saws. Several very successful social meetings were held and the people in general began to get acquainted better with the school activities and Parent-Teacher work. This year Mrs. Guy N. Wynn has been elected president. So far 58 members have paid their dues. They have finished the erection of the see-saws, and last week they got some men of the community to haul some dirt and fill in the holes that this rainy weather had converted into small ponds. Eight big loads were hauled, and we, the pupils, are hoping they will soon haul some more. The carnival that had been planned by the P. T. A. in connection with the school athletic club which was to have been held on October 30, was again planned for the 11th, but was again rained out. The association has decided to purchase a Bible for the school. Everyone is enthusiastic and co-operating in the work and where such a spirit exists great things will be done. Here’s hoping. Local News Mr. and Mrs. Frank Terry of Crockett arrived Thursday of last week. For the present they will make Clemville their home. Mr. and Mrs. George Delano are visitors at the N. W. Terry home. Mr. and Mrs. George Hathaway were El Campo visitors Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hobbs of Bay City have moved back to Clemville. Mr. H. Bankhead, who has been working in Lockhart, returned home Thursday night. We were all disappointed, but not surprised, when we awoke Wednesday morning to find it raining. All of our plans for the carnival that night were in vain. “But where there is a will there is a way,” and we were all “tuned up” for a grand and glorious time for that night. And we had it! Two of our enthusiastic P. T. A. members, adorned with boots and raincoats, visited all homes in our city; and it was decided that we all bring our candy and pop corn that had been prepared for the carnival and meet at the schoolhouse to see who could have the most fun. Despite the weather, a large crowd assembled at the schoolhouse that night. After singing for awhile young and old joined in playing some “old-fashioned ring games.” The young people laughed at the old ones and the old ones laughed at the attempts of the young ones to learn the games. So just to sum it up, we had a wonderful time, and are looking forward with pleasure for our next community party. Mrs. Bill Carr entertained Miss Ethel Duke of Lockhart with a “42” party at her home last Thursday night. Mr. Ed. Smith and Mr. Hays furnished music for the occasion. Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. Miss Ethel Duke, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. Buck Hill, for the past few months, returned to her home in Lockhart last week. Miss Lillie Sparks of Bay City visited friends and relatives here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Hathaway, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Larson and family, Miss Ivy B. Savage, Miss Hallie Gibbons, Mr. A. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Lynch and family spent Thanksgiving day in Bay City. Mr. and Mrs. George Delano are visiting relatives in Ganado for a few days. Mr. L. D. Whitley of Bay City visited our community last week. Mrs. C. D. Salley and children and Mr. Roy Featherton enjoyed a Thanksgiving with Mrs. Salley at Markham. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winston spent Thanksgiving at the home of Mrs. Wheeler at Bay City. Miss Elsie Larson, who is teaching at New Ulm, spent Thanksgiving holidays at home. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hobbs and Miss Mattia D. Whitley spent Thanksgiving holidays at home. We were all glad to have Rev. Phillips of Blessing to preach for us Sunday night. His sermon was very helpful and from all indications was enjoyed immensely. We hope he will soon be with us again. The presence of several Markham people was also greatly appreciated and we extend to them a cordial invitation to come again. The How to Speak Club gave a party at the school house Friday night, the 20th. All of the young people of the community were present and enjoyed playing all kinds of games until our watches reminded us that midnight was approaching. We adjourned wondering how time can slip by so fast and planning for our next party to be in the near future. Mrs. Wyatt, Mr. Jesse Wyatt and Misses Fay Wyatt, Carrie Larson and Leddie Chrisoffersen went to Gulf Sunday afternoon to get Mr. Buster Wyatt who is sick. Miss Emma Larson and one of her friends took Miss Elsie Larson to New Ulm and returned Sunday night.

Mrs. F. M. Thompson has been in Palacios for the past ten years at the bedside of her mother, Mrs. J. W. Stewart. Mrs. Stewart has been dangerously ill for the past few days, but is much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Robstown and Alice, visiting friends and relatives. Mr. N. W. Terry had as guests the past week-end Mr. G. M. Reynolds and Mr. Kaiser of Houston. They enjoyed two days hunting and the guests returned to Houston with "game in the bag." Miss Merrimac Johnson was on the sick list for a few days this week. Evelyn and Charlene Hooper and Bob Walter Wakefield of Bay City, were visitors at Sunday School the past Sunday. Freda Johnson spent the day Sunday with Ruth Burkett. Bill Sherrer, while playing baseball at school Wednesday had the misfortune to stick a large splinter through his foot, it was so deep that a knife was needed to remove it, so he was sent immediately to obtain medical aid. The ball games last week were as follows: Tuesday, Gulf and Markham at Gulf; Friday, Gulf and Markham at Bay City. The first game was a victory for the Gulf team, score 27-25; but Friday night Markham brought home the bacon in a fast one, score 37-31. At the end of the game the score was a tie, but an added five minutes of play ended with a different result. School children and teachers are busy practicing for the Christmas entertainments. The first entertainment will be given Thursday night, Dec. 22. This will be for the primary and intermediate children and is entitled "The Christmas Toy Shop." The entertainment includes twenty-six musical numbers. On Friday, Dec. 23, a one act play entitled, "The Clarksville Choir's Christmas Carols," will be presented. The community Christmas tree will occupy a part of the program on this date. Miss Irma Kilpatrick spent the week-end with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. I. Hiltpold spent the Thanksgiving holidays in New Baden, Texas, visiting kinsfolk and friends. Dolly and Edward accompanied them and report an enjoyable trip. The ladies attending the 4-H Club demonstration at Uland's Thursday afternoon were Mrs. R. L. Hamill, Mrs. N. W. Terry, Mrs. Plez Harvey, Mrs. Burt Russell and Mrs. E. S. Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. George Hathaway spent several days in Houston the past week. Mrs. Hathaway was under medical treatment. They spent Saturday and Sunday in Clemville but returned to Houston Monday for several days stay. Miss Irma Kilpatrick spent the week-end at home. Many adults and school children viewed the whale, and sea elephant on display at Bay City. The school bus took fifteen school children in Sunday afternoon. A disastrous fire swept away the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wyatt on Wednesday night, Jan. 5. Early in the evening the cook stove fell off some blocks which it had temporarily been set on and spilled ashes and coals on the floor. In sweeping up the ashes a tiny live coal must have slipped unnoticed under some object. About an hour later, Mr. Wyatt who was alone reading in the next room discovered the fire. Futile efforts were made to extinguish it. Only one mattress was carried from the fire. The family was preparing to move to their farm west of Blessing and had that day taken a small load of furniture out. Mrs. Wyatt was at the farm when the fire occurred. Mrs. Clyde Farthing and Mrs. Fred Thompson were joint hostesses on Wednesday, Jan. 11, honoring Mesdames J. E. and W. Wyatt with a miscellaneous shower. After several games the many gifts were brought in. Later refreshments of Bavarian cream and cake were served to the thirty guests present. Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Gaston were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson Wednesday evening. Miss Dorothea Green spent Monday night in Palacios. Mrs. Fred M. Thompson and Giovanna spent the past week-end in Palacios. Misses Harris, Green and Helander attended county institute in Bay City the past Saturday. Mr. Fred M. Thompson and Mr. N. W. Terry made a business trip to Austin the past week-end. Mr. George Reynolds and two friends of Houston spent Sunday as guests of N. W. Terry. They spent the day hunting and report a nice kill. Mr. Jay C. Hevener and son, George, of Boling, spent Saturday afternoon hunting with Harry Cowger. On Friday afternoon, Jan. 6, seventeen of the school children were taken to Bay City to attend a clinic. The children were examined for tonsils, adenoids and teeth. Necessary extractions were made at the time and tonsil operations are pending. We take this means of thanking Doctors Heiman and Livengood who spent their time and efforts to hold the clinic. We also wish to express our appreciation to Mrs. Patricia Martyn for her work. Miss Nelle Harris has been elected as Epworth League leader for the next three months. So few are going to league that it is very difficult to render a program, so lets all come to league promptly at 7 p. m. and cooperate with our leader in making our league more interesting and helpful.

Mr. Ed Reed and family were Boling visitors Sunday. Mr. Bob Reed and family spent Sunday in Van Vleck visiting friends and relatives. Miss Helander spent the past weekend with Miss Harris in Bay City. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Sparks and family motored to Pierce Junction, Monday, immediately after receiving a message that Mrs. Spark's brother-in-law, John Sandes had been fatally injured. Mrs. Priestly is making an extended visit in the home of her son, Mr. Clyde Farthing.
The students having the highest average at mid-term are as follows: The ball team is anticipating some lovely games in Palacios Friday night and Saturday. The tournament begins at 7:30 Friday night and continues through Saturday. Reverend Gaston will fill his regular fifth Sunday appointment here on Sunday night. Remember League at seven o'clock and the church services at 7 o'clock. Dellie, Ruth and Herman Burkett underwent tonsil operations Friday of last week. This was follow-up work of the recent health examination carried on through the county health department. These operations are only a few of the many corrections made since the examinations so we can say that we have wonderful co-operation between school and parents. Parents, let's strive to make these corrections 100 per cent.
The Epworth League and church program for Sunday night is as follows: N. W. Stewart of Palacios was a Clemville visitor Sunday. Mr. Stewart and Mr. Thompson were guests at the Terry home for dinner. Miss Dorothy Green spent the past week-end in Houston shopping and visiting relatives.

Mrs. George Hathaway will spend the week in Houston where she is undergoing a sinus operation at the ear, eye, nose and throat hospital. She is reported doing nicely. The home of Mrs. Ada Johnson was the scene of a delightful surprise party on the night of February 21st, honoring her son and daughter, Totsy and Ima Kilpatrick. After an evening of stunts and games, delicious refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to about twenty-five guests. Mrs. N. W. Terry and Mrs. George Hathaway were joint hostesses at a shower given at the home of Mrs. Fred Thompson last Wednesday afternoon honoring Mrs. Gaston of Markham. At the close of the afternoon refreshments consisting of delicious sandwiches, chocolate and cakes were served to those present. Misses Helander and Green spent the week-end with their parents in Palacios. Miss Harris spent Saturday in Houston. Despite the rain and cold keeping them inside the school house at recess the children seem to appreciate the seesaws, trapezes and rings that have been erected for them on the playground. The Epworth League meets promptly at 7:00 o'clock each Sunday evening. Members are urged to be present and bring some one else next Sunday. Miss Marimae Johnson spent the week-end with Miss Green in Palacios. Mrs. N. W. Terry left Tuesday for a several days stay in Houston.

"Fool's Holiday" A Success The three act comedy-romance "Fool's Holiday," directed by Nelle Harris, attracted quite a crowd together with several visitors from nearby towns on May 2 when the Clemville High School group made their bow to the public. The well-selected cast showed that they knew a thing or two about acting and the audience regretted to see the curtain fall on the last act. The cast was as follows: Jed Bradley, Arkansas fruit farmer, Dalton Lynch. Tom, his son, Glenn Sparks. Clark Masters, friend of Tom's, Harry Cowger. Tony Drew, hired hand, Totsy Kilpatrick. Mrs. Bradley, the family drudge, Mrs. Fred _____ Thelma Bradley, Dorothea Green. Bennie Be___, Marimae Johnson. Myra Haviland?, the berry picker, Nelle Harris. Grandma _____, Mamie Lee Sherrer.
Misses Helander, Green and Harris were visitors in Freeport Sunday, going over to attend the regatta.
Junior-Senior Banquet The seniors and juniors of the Markham school whose homes are in Clemville were royally entertained by the Clemville faculty with a formal banquet, May 6 at 8 o'clock. At the appointed hour, the guests assembled at the schoolhouse where one of the classrooms was converted into a banquet hall of rustic beauty with the aid of Spanish moss, crepe paper, balloons, and hot house flowers.
The dinner table laid for twenty with gleaming tapers, pink glassware and flowers was a beautiful sight to the happy seniors when the toastmaster, Mr. Fred Thompson, asked them to find their places at the table.
A four-course dinner composed of fruit cocktail, tomato salad, chicken in pattie shells, new potatoes, string beans, buttered beets, rolls, iced tea, cake and ice cream were served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Ulland, Rev. and Mrs. Carroll Rae of Palacios, Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Terry, Mr. Bob Reid, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson, Miss Dorothea Green, Miss Nelle Harris, Miss Mildred Helander, Laura Larson, Ruth Gates, Marimae Johnson, Herbert Hiltpold, Harry Cowger, Glenn Sparks and Andrew Rasmussen.
Throughout the dinner the following program rendered:
Greetings to the seniors, Laura Larson. Response, Harry Cowger. Song, Frank, Jr., Johnson. Tap dance, La Fawn Johnson and Jerrimae Brazil. Talk, Rev. Carroll B. Rae. Song, Miss Hleander and Harris. Serpentine and confetti helped to make the evening a hilarious one for the seniors.
"What's the Matter With Sally?" an operetta, directed by Miss Helander, will be presented at the Clemville schoolhouse, May 15 at 8 o'clock. A small admission fee will be charged.
The Clemville High School players, under the direction of Nelle Harris, will present their play "Fool's Holiday" at the Blessing Community House, Wednesday, May 17 at 8 o'clock. A small admission fee of 5 and 15c will be charged, the proceeds going to the county health fund. The public is cordially invited to attend. Don't fail to see "Fool's Holiday."

Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Daughters and son, Harley Lewis of Eagle Pass, spent Thanksgiving with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Daughters. They returned to Eagle Pass Monday. Albert Townsend who has been stationed in the reforestation camp at Oakhurst, Texas, spent the holidays with his mother in Clemville. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hickey have moved in to the Lynch cottage opposite the store. Harry Cowger spent the holidays at home. He returned to Austin Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Thompson. Mr. Thompson and Harry are both attending Texas University. Misses Helander and Green spent Thanksgiving holidays in Houston with friends and relatives. Leroy Lynch who is attending school in Houston was home Thursday of last week. The Rex Teat and Glover families spent Thursday in Carancahua Bay. George "Buddie" Sherrer spent Thursday at home. He returned to his work at Freer Thursday night. Mr. Eugene Harvey and family o f Palacios spent Saturday and Sunday in the Plez Harvey home. They were accompanied home by Miss Anna Laurie Snell who has spent several weeks in her uncle's home here. Mr. and Mrs. G. Mack of Franklin, Texas, visited in the home of Mr. Mack's sister, Mrs. U. Hiltpold and family the past weekend. Miss Selma Hiltpold returned home with them after several weeks visit at Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. G. There will be a pie supper and forty-two party at the school house Friday night. A short program will be rendered by the school children. The event is for benefit of the church. Mrs. Lucy Harvey of Collegeport, visited in the Plez Harvey home Saturday. Mrs. Lindy Gee left Clemville last week to make her home at Pierce Junction. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Jones and children spent the past week-end at Louise with relatives. Mr. Claud Hickey has returned to Houma, La., where he is employed by the Texas Company. He has spent several weeks at home as a result of an injury. Mrs. Naomi Ryberg and children of El Campo visited in Clemville the past week. A large number attended church Sunday and also the special Thanksgiving service on Thursday night. Let's keep up the good work. Friday night, Dec. 29 is the date announced for the school Christmas program. There will be a play of one hour, "Christmas Eve in Fairyland," together with many musical numbers.

The benefit event of last Friday night was very successful financially as well as socially. There was a short program after which forty-two was enjoyed by the older crowd. The children and young people were amused with various games. The crowning event of the evening was the raffling off of a large fruit cake. Mr. Vic Burchfield held the lucky number. The proceeds were given to the church, a total sum over fifteen dollars. Miss Edith Posey and Mr. Harry Mallard were married on Saturday of last week. Monday night a crowd gathered bent on hilarity. The young couple was spirited to Markham where a barn dance was enjoyed in the clubhouse. The young people report that the refreshments certainly touched the spot. Goodboy, Harry. Miss Dorotha Green was called to Houston Sunday to be at the bedside of her brother who was accidentally injured Saturday night. Miss Green reports that he is not seriously injured and will be out of the hospital in a few days. Rev. and Mrs. R. E. Black were guests in the R. L. Hamill home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Daughters and Mr. Sam Johnson spent Sunday in Houston. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Ward and family were Houston visitors Sunday. In last week's news the Christmas program of the school was erroneously reported for December 29. The correct date is December 22. The school will present a play "Christmas Eve in Fairyland" and other musical numbers at 7:45 p. m. Word was received from La Port, Ind., this week that Miss Marimae Johnson was married there Thanksgiving Day. Miss Johnson made her home in Clemville for a year with her parents. She returned to their old home in September where she has been visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, Mrs. Doyle Kilpatrick and Miss Ima Kilpatrick attended the County Federation at Blessing Saturday. Mr. N. W. Terry has been ill several days the past week. He is improved now and able to be at work. Clyde Everett Farthing has suffered an attack of neuritis the past week and missed several days in school. He will undergo a tonsil operation during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mallard will make their home in Clemville. We wish to extend heartfelt congratulations to the young couple and welcome them to our community.

The Clemville Women's Home Demonstration Club met at the home of Mrs. Berta Sparks Thursday afternoon, Feb. 22. Before the meeting was opened, we all had a very neighborly chat and we firmly resolved to talk about every member that doesn't come from now on. So members, you had better attend! You know how we can talk! The meeting was called to order. The roll call was answered by ten members and no visitors. Mrs. Draughn made a final decision to be our pantry demonstrator. Motions were in order to pass a rule on who should use the club canning equipment. Any club member who is absent three times in succession becomes a non-member and is not entitled to the use of the club equipment. Our parliamentarian was absent so we corrected each other and everyone was good humored about it. We filled in a little more of our year books. Next our president had some articles read aloud on the color harmony and dyeing of rug materials. Then we adjourned to the kitchen to due. The result was pleasing and we are expecting to see some lovely rugs in Clemville by autumn. Business over we adjourned to meet March 8 at the home of Mrs. Alvin Sparks. Mrs. Sides will be with us. Everyone come.

Mary Evelyn Reed of Markham visited Pauline Sparks Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Burkett and son of Lake Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Autry and son, of Freeport, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Harvey and children and Mrs. Emma Fowler of El Campo were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gates and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Richie Roecker and children visited relatives in Glen Flora Monday evening. Mrs. Alvan Sparks, Mrs. C. E. Farthing, Mrs. Bill Massolletta, Mrs. G. P. Hathaway, Mrs. C. D. Salley, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cornett, attended the all day services at the Methodist Church in Markham Sunday. Budger and Johnnie Cornett, spent the weekend with their Dad, Mr. Elmer Cornett and wife.

Charlie, and daughters, of Conroe and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mallory, and Mr. Cornett of El Campo, visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cornett and son, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jordan, and Mr. and Mrs. H. Coffman, of Angleton, left Sunday for Ft. Worth to be at the bedside of Mrs. Coffman's and Mrs. Jordon's brother, who is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Massolletta, and children, visited Mrs. Massoletta's parents in El Campo, Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sparks and children, visited relatives in Bay City Sunday. Mrs. Mary Salley, of El Campo, visited Mrs. C. D. Salley, Sr. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton La Beff, and daughter, of Old Ocean, visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom La Beff Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lynch and son, visited relatives in Ganado, Sunday. Mr. Bert Logan, and Mr. B. B. Rhodes, of Blessing, and Mrs. Harry Cowger, attended the ball game in Houston Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burton and son, of Wharton, visited relatives here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hebert and children, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Steinmeyer of Bay City Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Sherrer, of Bay City and Mrs. Maude Freize, visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tucker of Yoakum, Monday. Mrs. Mary Freize, of Bay City, visited her children, May Evelyn and Billie Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Stephens and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, Sr. of Markham Sunday. Mrs. Minnie Wyatt, and a friend, Mr. Johnson, of Houston, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hickey and children. Mrs. Luhn, of El Campo, brought Mrs. Lanier Hester and baby, home Tuesday, from the hospital, where the baby had been confined the past few days. We are so glad she is able to be home.
