Ernest David Reiman Services will be held for Ernest David Reiman, 76, of Bay City, 10 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Leroy Stanton. Reiman died June 28, 1982 at Matagorda General Hospital. Survivors include wife, Marguerite Reiman of Bay City; foster son, Thomas Brown of Bay City. Reiman, a life-long resident of Bay City, was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eagles Club. Burial will follow services at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ronny and Robert Noster and Jim, Bob, Allen and Gayle Brown. Arrangements with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home. Daily Tribune, June 29 or 30, 1982 Marguerite Ellis Reiman Services for Marguerite Ellis Ryman of Bay City will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Seaman officiating. Mrs. Reiman, 77, was born on Aug. 31, 1906, in Pitsfield, Ill. She moved to Bay City in 1912, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Ernest Reiman, who preceeded her in death in 1982 She died Jan. 3, 1994. She is survived by one son, Thomas T. Brown of Bay City, and a nephew, C. B. Hill of San Antonio. Pallbearers will be Robert and Ronny Noster, Jim, Bob, Allen and Gayle Brown. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Henry F. Reinke
Annie T. Reinke Mrs. Henry Reincke, wife of Mr. Henry Reincke, a prominent Bucks Bayou farmer, died at her home three miles east of the city Wednesday night after an illness of some weeks. The Tribune has not been advised as to the arrangements made for the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Reincke have been citizens of this community for about twenty years and in that time built up many strong attachments. The Tribune, on behalf of the many friends of the family, extends to the bereaved family the sincerest of sympathy. Daily Tribune, date unknown [died May 11, 1922] Mrs. Reincke Will Be Buried Saturday Mrs. Henry Reincke, who died at her home three miles east of the city Thursday, May 11, will be buried in the family cemetery on Buck’s Bayou Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Owing to high water, the remains have been held since the death at the Reincke home. It was first reported that the funeral would take place here.

Vada Cabaniss Robertson Funeral services for Vada Cabiness Robertson, 95, of Hunt are scheduled for 2 p. m. Thursday at Markham Baptist church in Markham with the Reverends Joe Ramsey and Howard Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Mrs. Robertson was born May 9, 1898 in Belmont in Caldwell County to Charlie V. and Dora Crenshaw Cabiness and died Dec. 6, 1993 in Victoria. A member of Hunt Baptist Church, she was formerly a member of Markham Baptist Church. She was a resident of Markham. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Bay City and the Women’s Missionary Union. Her family moved to Matagorda County in 1902 to farm rice. Her father and husband were both former commissioners of Precinct 4 and Mr. Robertson was county auditor from 1940-1956. Survivors include three daughters, Jessie Bassett of San Antonio, Gladys Cornman of Bay City and Eudora Hawkins of Victoria; a son, Martin Robertson of LaPalma, Calif.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther M. Robertson on Nov. 24, 1963. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home of Bay City.

Mr. Bert Rose Passed Away Tuesday; Services Today Mr. Bert Rose, age 60 years, 2 months, 29 days, passed away at the family residence in Bay City, Oct. 29, at 8:30 p. m. Mr. Rose has been a resident of Bay City for 11 years, and has operated a gun repair shop. He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Jenkins, Bay City, Mrs. Lillian Sparks, Palacios, Mrs. Emaline Reed, Van Vleck, Mrs. Dorothy Mosier, Palacios, and Miss Mary Rose of Bay City; two sons, Henry and Elmer Kay of Bay City. Three sisters, Mrs. Eda Edwards, Sour Lake, Texas, Mrs. Myrtle Ruley? of Houston, and Mrs. Elsie Caleson of Houston, and five brothers, Mr. Ancil Rose, Delwood, Ill., Mr. Elbey Rose, Damon, Tex., Mr. Charles Rose, Brazoria, Mr. Ollie Rose, Honey Island, Tex, and Mr. Hurless Rose, Silsbee, Tex. Funeral services will be held from the family residence at 3 p. m. with the arrangements in charge of Taylor Bros.

Fannie M. Ruth Funeral services for Mrs. C. O. Ruth, 41, were held at the First Methodist Church Friday with the Rev. W. W. Hawthorne officiating. Burial was made in Cedarvale Cemetery with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in charge of the rites. Active pall bearers were J. A. Williams, Wesley Pruett, Cecil Pruett, Ira Blanchard, C. O. Middleton, and C. B. Jeanes. Mrs. Ruth had been ill for some weeks at the Matagorda General Hospital and is survived by her husband, C. O. Ruth, of Bay City; a son, John Alfred Ruth; her father, John Sansom of Brundege; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Jordan of Brundege and Mrs. Eunice Paul of Philadelphia, Pa.; and three brothers, Ira Sansom of Devine, Roy Sansom of Dayton, and Jack Sansom of Houston. Mrs. Ruth had been a resident of Bay City for 13 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, W. O. W. Circle, and Rebekah Lodge 79 of Bay City.

Barbara Carr Rye Funeral services for Barbara Carr Rye, 56, of Bay City, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. LeRoy Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mrs. Rye was born July 24, 1929, to James Kirkpatrick and Ethel Darby Carr in Houston and died July 24, 1985, at her residence. A resident of Bay City since 1932, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Vim X. Rye of Bay City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Wayne Head and Debbi and Hugh Vallely, all of Bay City; other survivors, Laura Carr, Mrs. M. A. Dowdle, Bert Carr, Walton Wright, Mary Frank Burnell and Rosie Paul; and five grandchildren, Ken, Vim and Kirk Head and Lee Northcutt and Jennifer Vallely, all of Bay City. Pallbearers include Scott Richardson, James Humphries, Russell Matthes, Walton Wright, Bob Brice, Drew Burnell, Tom Burnell, Bill Wiginton, Elbert Watson and Bob Kelly. Honorary pallbearers include Gordon Richardson, Harry Wirth, Charles Townsend, Ricky James, Mervin Cole, Jack Huebner, Don Dowler, Ward Rosen, Mickey Moore and Bert Head. James P. Sandlin James P. Sandlin Funeral Rites Set Saturday 3 p. m. James P. Sandlin died here at the family residence, 1203 Ave. G, Thursday, Jan. 18, at 5:00 p. m., at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 2 days. A resident of Matagorda County since 1919 when he came to the area to work for the Texas Gulf Sulphur company, he was active until failing health caused him to retire. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p m. from Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with burial in Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Zeb Milner, Henry Braunstein, Bob Treet, C. W. Smith, R. H. Stansel and F. O. Montague. Mr. Sandlin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Florence Sandlin, and two sons, V. L. of Houston and J. H. of Anahuac

Thomas O. Self & Grace Self
Thomas Self Funeral services for Thomas Self, 83, of Markham will be held 10 a. m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Old Ocean with the Rev. Morgan Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Mr. Self was born Sept. 9, 1907, to George F. and Viola Mae Penn Self in Texas and died Feb. 17, 1991, at Matagorda General Hospital. A resident of Markham since 1976, he war a member of the First Baptist Church in Old Ocean. He is survived by his two daughters, Ella Mae Bolen of Bay City and Dana Becker Dunn of New York City, N. Y.; two sons, M. L. Self of Bay City and Dr. Leon Self of Denton; a sister, Ruth B. Kennedy of Bay City; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Self, who died Dec. 30, 1987. His grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City. Ruby L. Shawler & James A. Shawler James Anthony Shawler Sr. Funeral services for James Anthony Shawler Sr., 77, of La Porte, were held at 2 p. m. Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel with Father Edward Boren of Our Lady of Guadalupe officiating. Burial followed in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mr. Shawler was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Louisville, Ky., to Sidney M. and Mary C. Bader Shawler and died Feb. 4, 1995, at his residence. He was a member of the Catholic church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby L. Kocurek Shawler of La Porte; a son and daughter-in-law, James A. Jr. and Diane of Pasadena; a step-son and daughter-in-law, George L. and Janet Clements of Victoria; a daughter, Mary K. Shawler Alexander of Yorktown; grandchildren, John N. and Gena Cole of Betsdoych, Germany, James Anthony and Scott Patrick Shawler of Highlands and Clayton Alexander of Yorktown and a mother-in-law, Leona Kocurek of Bay City. Pallbearers are Robert Gentry, George L. Clements Jr., Michael Alexander, Jack Dreher, Hadden Dietrich and Wallace Nini. Services are under the direction of Dick R. Elkins, Bay City Funeral Home.
