Judson W. Austin C. Berry Austin Clarice Berry Austin Mrs. Clarice Berry Austin, 74 of Bay City, mother of Mrs. Charles E. Stark of Victoria, died at midnight Tuesday in a Houston hospital. A former resident of Victoria for many years, Mrs. Austin had resided in Bay City for the past 10 years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bay City. Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery, Bay City. Besides Mrs. Stark, Mrs. Austin is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. George J. Durocez of Bay City; two sons, Merrill J. Austin of Portland, Tex.,and Justin P. Austin of Bay City, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Dragoo of Joplin, Mo.

Frances Louise Bess, 96, of Bay City, died June 20, 2001 at
Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. She was born February 25,
1905 in Middletown, Ohio to the late George Francis and Florence
Gerard Agnew. Funeral Services Are Held Saturday For Sims Bess, 53 Funeral services were held Saturday for Bartlett Sims Bess, 53, who died Thursday. Services were Saturday morning in Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. James F. Eaves, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Bess is survived by his wife; a son, Clyde of Orange; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Southall of Houston, and a brother, Cecil Bess of Houston. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery with Taylor Brothers in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services for Luetta Shafer Williams Callaway, 87, of Bay City, were to be held Sunday, December 19, 1999, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment was to follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Mrs. Callaway died December 18, 1999, at the Sweeny Nursing Home in Sweeny. She was born June 18, 1912, in Chamal, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late James Edward and Robbie Ann Frazier Shafer. Mrs. Callaway was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a resident of Bay City since 1926, and a former interior decorator and painter.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Jack E. and Sally Williams of Bay City; step-daughters, Barbara Stovall of Magnet, Carolyn Maples of Sealy, and Marilyn Fobes of Water Town, Wisconsin; sisters, Clara Benedict and Laverne Stevens, both of Bay City and Annie Titt of Van Vleck; brother, Robert E. Shafer of Bay City and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Claud Williams and Wayman Callaway; daughters, Barbara Green and Wanda Davis; step-son, Bruce Callaway; sisters, Emma Larue and Bertha Klingaman; brothers, Billy and Leslie Shafer; and by two granddaughters.
Pallbearers included: Bennie, John, and James Stevens, Mike Green, and Jimmie and Freddie Williams. Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Luetta Calloway, five daughters, Mrs. Eugene Miller, Waco, Mrs. Randolph Ryman, Bay City, Mrs. V. H. Beldomme, Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Buck Green, Glessing, and Mrs. Leland Davis, Greenville, Miss., two sons, Bruce Callaway of Houston and Jackie Williams, U. S. Navy. Two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Wise, and Mrs. B. F. Schulz, Bay City. Three brothers, A. F., H. G., and Morris Callaway, all of Houston. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p. m., at Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. R. O. Fincher, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. formerly of Victoria and Bay City, died Thursday, July 31,
2003. George Durochez Funeral services for George Durochez, 79, of Victoria were 2 p. m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home on Red River with Rev. Michael Berry officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p. m. at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Mr. Durochez was born April 14, 1915 to George R. Durochez Sr. and Julia Maria Danville Durochez in Foxtown, Kansas and died Sept. 8, 1994. He worked for Central Power & Light Company until 1972, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: his wife, Clarice Austin Durochez of Victoria; a daughter Clarissa Ann Durochez of Houston; two sons, Bert Roy and Gilbert Lloyd Durochez of Houston and Wichita Falls respectively. Pallbearers are Gary Austin, Bert Durochez, Ronnie Thomas, Butch Durochez, Arthur Schoeneberg, Craig Austin. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas and Robert Hillyer and James Schoeneberg. Arrangements are through Colonial Funeral Home in Victoria.

Mary Elizabeth Dykes W. E. Dykes' Infant Daughter Dies Mary Elizabeth Dykes, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Dykes, died this morning at 6 o'clock at the Matagorda General Hospital. Besides the parents, two brothers, William E. Dykes II and Curtis Lynn Dykes, survive. Funeral services were held today at 1:30 from the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Lancaster officiating. Interment was in Cedarvale Cemetery.

Earl W. Eidlebach Nora White Eidlebach Earl W. Eidlebach Earl W. Eidlebach, 76, of Bay City passed away March 12, 1997 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. He was born Oct. 10, 1920 in Matagorda County to William John Henry Eidlebach and Pauline Mary Gest Eidlebach. He was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a member of the Masonic Lodge #865 AF & AM, and a member of the Eagles #3232. He is survived by two daughters Delores Y. “Dee” Spurlock of Austin and Marsha J. “Jan” Eidlebach of Eagle River, Alaska; by two sons Earl R. “Buster” Eidlebach and Gene E. “Tinker” Eidlebach both of Bay City; by four sisters Virginia Klingaman, Isabelle Gernand and Evelyn Eidlebach all of Bay City and Katherine White of Washington State; by three brothers, Burris E. Eidlebach, Ross S. Eidlebach, and Arthur C. Eidlebach all of Bay City; by 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, March 15, 1997 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marshall White officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Willie J. Eidlebach Pauline Eidlebach Final Rites Held For W. J. H. Eidlebach Last Wednesday. Final rites were held last Wednesday for William John Henry Eidlebach, 75, who passed away in Bay City March 18. Burial was in the Cedar Vale Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Lancaster officiating. Mr. Eidlebach is survived by his wife, Pauline; six daughters, Mrs. Katherine White of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Miss Evelyn Eidlebach of Houston, Mrs. Isabell Gernand and Mrs. Virginia Klingaman of Bay City, Mrs. Joyce Smith and Mrs. Wilmer Jennings of San Antonio; five sons, Carroll of Cleveland, Texas, Burris of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Earl, Ross, and Arthur, all of Bay City.

W. Rilley Elkins W. R. Elkins Passes Away After Lengthy Illness W. R. Elkins, age 61 years and 7 months, died at the family residence in the eastern part of the City Friday morning after an illness of some time. Mr. Elkins is survived by his wife, Pearl Elkins; one daughter, Mrs. Margery Cook of this City; one son, Willie Elkins of Dayton, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. A. Ruth, Mrs. Lee Brown, Mrs. Frank Roby, all of Houston, and Mrs. H. G. Nagle of Dayton. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. R. Glenn Reginald Ellis Glenn Reginald Ellis Funeral services for Glenn Reginald Ellis, 86, of Bay City were scheduled for 2 p. m. Sunday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. W. E. Dugger Jr. officiating. Burial to follow in Cedarvale Cemetery, Bay City. Mr. Ellis was born Oct. 22, 1903, in Norton, Kan., to Harry C. and Eva Mae Dopps Ellis and died Jan. 5, 1990, at Wagner General Hospital, Palacios. A resident of Matagorda County since 1920, he was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ham Radio Operator’s Club and First United Methodist Church of Bay City. He is survived by a first cousin, Mrs. Joel Morrow of Bay City and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Braden of Bay City. Pallbearers include Bill Boeker, George Serrill Jr. Vance Verbeck, Rick Gangluff, Larry Greenberg and Milton Jarrell. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

Harry C. Ellis Eva Mae Ellis H. C. Ellis Mr. H. C. Ellis, barber, age 54 died this morning at his home at 8:30. Mr. Ellis had been in ill health for several weeks and since an apoplectic stroke four weeks ago last Monday his chance of recovery has been slight. The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons, Glenn and Harry, Jr. He was well known and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. For several years he followed the barber trade. He was in the employ of Britt’s barber shop. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Taylor Brothers, morticians. The services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church. Daily Tribune, January 23, 1931 Harry Clyde Ellis The funeral for Mr. Harry Clyde Ellis was held this afternoon from the Methodist church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. P. T. Ramsey conducted the services. Mr. Ellis passed away at his home yesterday morning at 8:30 o’clock following an illness of several weeks and his condition had steadily grown worse since an apoplectic stroke some four weeks ago. He was born in Peoria, Ill., on Nov. 30, 1875. At the age of 13 he moved to Nebraska with his parents, William and Adaline Ellis. In 1902 in Norton Kansas, he was married to Miss Eva Dopps. From this union two sons, Glenn and Harry, were born. They moved to Texas in 1911 and settled at Francitas, where they remained until 1920, when they moved to Bay City. Mr. Ellis was a barber by trade and was in the employ of the R. E. Britt barber shop here. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Glenn and Harry, Jr., five sisters and one brother in Nebraska.
