Louis Jules Ducros

In the death of Jules Ducros on Monday, June 5, there passed from our midst a gentleman of the old school widely known over this section of the Gulf Coast and a resident of Matagorda County for nearly a half century.

Son of P. V. Ducros, an extensive Louisiana planter, and his wife, Marie Alice Reegio, Jules Ducros was born on August 25, 1869 in St. Bernard Parish near New Orleans where he received the highest educational advantages and where he spent his earlier manhood. His family had been established in this locality for generations.

On October 1, 1892, Jules Ducros was married to Rose Fuselier de la Clair, a worthy and charming representative of an old Louisiana family, and in 1904 moved to Bay City, where he resided at the family residence at the time of his death.

His business activities were varied, and in his business life he was recognized as a man of keen intellect, kindliness of heart, the highest integrity, highest standards, and most likeable personality. He was a member of a Holy Cross Catholic Church. He will be sorely missed by his large number of friends.

Surviving Mr. Ducros are his wife, one brother, L. E. Ducros of Bay City, a sister, Mrs. Ernestine Pille of New Orleand and a number of nephews.

Delores Ann Dykes

In Memoriam

In loving memory of Delores Ann Dykes, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Dykes, who died February 7, 1935.

Delores Ann

Just one year ago today,
God carried you away.
We miss you, yes, everyday
In Every way.
We miss your loving little arms,
That hugged us tight;
Those dear little lips that kissed good-night.
The memory of that little smile you always wore,
It makes us lonesome, more and more.
Sometimes dear, when the skies are grey and I feel blue,
I imagine I can see you on that Golden shore.
You who are so happy with that Angel band,
Makes us want to live closer to God,
So I can meet you someday in that promised land.
Not always shall this parting be,
Although we travel slow;
We all shall claim eternity,
And find the way you go.
And so our daily task we do and await
The opening of those pearly gates.

One who loved her.
