Zula May Tobeck Funeral services for Zula May Tobeck, 91, of Bay City will be held 10:30 a. m. Thursday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with Dr. W. D. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mr. Tobeck was born May 10, 1896, in Oklahoma and died Dec. 21, 1987, at Seton Medical Center, Austin. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include three sons, Carlos R. Montague of Antonito, Colo., Jesse B. Montague of Cedar Ben, Texas and Leroy Cervenka of California; and two daughters, Zula M. Bedynek of Bay City and Dorothy Munson of Canyon City, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husbands Brodus Montague, Jim Servenka and Bill Tobeck; by sons, Jim Montague, Bill Montague and Robert Montague; and daughters, Mary Jane Montague and Ruby Lee Montague. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

George B. Truitt George B. Truitt Dies in Houston Mr. George B. Truitt, 83, long time resident and pioneer settler of this county and Bay City, died in Houston last night at midnight. His death followed many months of illness and years of bad health. Until he moved from Bay City to Boling a few years ago, Mr. Truitt lived at his old homestead here in the city. He was a landowner and he engaged in farming and some cattle raising. His many years in the county gathered for him many friends who discussed the topics of the day with him as he made his usual rounds of the city. This pleasure was denied him and his friends, however a few years back when his health began to fail. He is survived by three daughters, Miss Nannie and Miss Gertrude of Boling and Mrs. Leroy Johnson of Victoria; one son, G. W. Truitt of Oakland, California and one sister, Mrs. Sally Dukes of Maryland and one brother, Marcus Truitt of Eagle Lake, Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at three o’clock from the Matchett-Newman Home. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Matchett-Newman Funeral Directors are in charge of the arrangements.

Sallie Gertrude Truitt Sallie Gertrude Truitt passed away on Thursday, May 30, 1974 in Wharton. She was 73 years of age. Miss Truitt was born in La Grange to G. B. and Lena Alley Truitt. She had been a resident of Wharton since 1951. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a. m., in the Chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home. Interment was in Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Rev. A. Wayne Jones officiated at the services. Miss Truitt is survived by her sisters, Nannie Truitt of Wharton and Mrs. Leroy Johnson of Victoria, and her brother George W. Truitt of California. Pallbearers were Delno Schulz, Chester Francis, H. O. Galloway, B. D. King, Jr., Donald Scheller and Charles Sansing.

Andrew R. Valigura June 16, 1895 – February 17, 1952
Mr. Andrew R. Valigura, age 56, died in the Veterans Hospital in Houston Sunday. Rosary will be said tonight at 8:00 o’clock. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. C. J. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Cedarvale Cemetery under the direction of the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post of El Campo.
Mr. Valigura is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Mary Valigura of Buckeye; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Mitchon of El Maton and Mrs. Pearl Mitchon of Buckeye; 4 sisters, Mrs. Mary Kutiek of Seamore, Texas, Mrs. Rosa Roznosky of Houston, Mrs. Agnes Lynat of Hattesville, and Mrs. Emma Buresk of Eagle Lake. Also eight brothers, Charles and Joe of El Campo, Morton and Anton of Hattesville, John of Edna, Jim of Galveston, Ernest of Markham and Frank of Bay City.

Lewis Taylor Waddell [NOTE: Even though this obituary says Mrs. the marker has the name Lewis Taylor Waddell. According to family trees, the Mrs. was a mistake on the part of the person who wrote the obituary.] Mrs. Lewis Taylor Waddell Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis Taylor Waddell, 77, of Bay City were scheduled for 2 p. m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Earl M. Clary officiating. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mrs. Waddell was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Richland Springs, Texas, and died Feb. 24, 1987, at Matagorda General Hospital. She retired in 1972 as a secretary for Ranger Pan American Insurance Co., Houston, after 20 years service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors include two nieces, Mary Lee Whipple of Dallas and Jane V. Murph of Carrollton; three great-nephews and two great-nieces. Pallbearers include Tom Pivonka, Billy Hargraves, Terry Birkner, James E. Birkner, B. F. Schulz and Woodrow Noster. Arrangements are under the direction of Dick R. Elkins, Bay City Funeral Home.

Kent Rowland Wade
Funeral services for Kent Rowland Wade, 33, of Bay City, were held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 18, 1999, at First United Methodist Church in Bay City, with the Rev. Mike Toland and Rev. Elizabeth Moneau officiating. Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Kent was born September 21, 1965, in Bay City, to Mike and Janice Rowland Wade. He is survived by: his father Mike and step-mother Judi Wade of Bay City; mother Jan and step-father Bill Johnson of Bay City; sister Kathryn and her husband Kent McVey of Friendswood; step-brother Scott Martin of College Station; grandparents, Tom and Alma Rowland of Bay City and George and Glendine Short of Bay City; and two nephews, Michael and Matthew McVey, both of Friendswood.
Pallbearers included Dennis Gann, Randy Holman, Gail Tolson, Ronnie Bose, Kent McVey, and Kenneth Ryman. Honorary pallbearers included Scott Steves, Troy Keen, and Greg Metcalf.
Kent was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the UM Army at First United Methodist Church, 300 Ave. H, Bay City, Texas 77414.
Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Louis E. Wade Funeral Services For Louis Wade, 44, Are Held Friday Funeral services for Louis E. Wade, 44, were held Friday at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. W. W. Conerly officiating. Mr. Wade was killed in an automobile accident in Houston March 24. Burial was in the Cedarvale Cemetery with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Wade was a business man in Bay City and had lived here for 16 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Arabia Temple, and the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glendine Wade; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Wade; two sons, Michael and Pat, all of Bay City.

Dorothy McCain Doyle Wainner Funeral services for Mrs. George A. Wainner, 75, of Bay City, were held Friday at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Mouzon Bass officiating and burial in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mrs. Wainner, who had been a resident of Bay City for several years, took an active part in the Methodist church, of which she was a member. Members of the Philo Christo Class were named as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Wainner is survived by her husband, George A. Wainner; a daughter, Mrs. R. M. Jeter of Houston; three sons, Orville of Columbia, S. C., Floyd of Freeport, and George of Bay City.

Mrs. Nettie May Wainner Mrs. Nettie May Wainner died in her home on Friday night, Dec. 23, 1932 at 10:30 after a long illness that confined her to her home and bed for some time. She was 58 years, 3 months and 16 days old. The burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery, the funeral service being conducted by Brother McCary of the Methodist Church in Bay City on Saturday afternoon. Nettie May Overton was born in Lincoln township, Deno County, Kan. on Sept. 7, 1874 in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. McMurray where she spent most of her girlhood. She married George Alfred Wainner, Nov. 4, 1900 and they lived in Haren, Kan., until 1908 when they moved to Matagorda County in Texas. Of this union, four children survive, two having died in infancy. She was a member of the Methodist Church from early girlhood and was always active in some part of the church organization. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. R. M Jeter of Houston, three sons, Orville of St. Louis, Mo., Floyd H. and George D. of Bay City; one half sister, Mrs. W. A. Belcher, Harper, Texas and one step-sister, Mrs. Maggie Finrock; Optima, Okla., three half brothers, Harvey Allen, Lamesa, Texas; Irvin F. Allen, Silverton, Texas and Ellart? Allen, Phoenix, Ariz., and two granddaughters.
