Sam Edward Dickinson Rosie Caroline Dickinson Funeral Rites Held Tuesday Afternoon For S. E. Dickinson, 72 Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the chapel at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home for S. E. Dickinson, 72, former resident of Matagorda County. Mr. Dickinson, who lived at Angleton, died Sunday afternoon at the Newgulf Hospital. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne S. Smith officiating. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Tiner of Boling and Mrs. Effie Sherrer of Freeport. Pallbearers were Scotty Hayes, John Fachtner, Howard Govier, Charles Allen, J. C. Jameson, Ruby Smith, Ray Miller, and Mamie Brown. Funeral rites will be held in Bay City Thursday, the hour to be announced by Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Dickinson is survived by her husband; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Sherrer; one daughter, Mrs. May Drennan of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Gest and Mrs. Ida Gest; three brothers, John and Frank Sherrer of Bay City and Thomas Sherrer of Wadsworth.

Henry Wilson Freeman Mary Poole Freeman Funeral Services For Mrs. Freeman Held Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Poole Freeman, 89, were held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Bay City with the Rev. A. T. Dyal officiating. Mrs. Freeman died Monday in the local hospital. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Poole and Irene Tourne Twitchell Poole of Indianola and was born during the War Between the States in Matamoros, Mexico, on November 20, 1865. At Kansas City, Mo., she married Henry William Freeman, native of Nova Scotia. Surviving are three nephews, Donald K. Poole and T. J. Poole Jr. of Bay City and Dr. Mark K. Poole of the Belgian Congo; four nieces, Mrs. George R. Burke and Mrs. J. Lane Barbour of Bay City, Mrs. Reginald R. Burbank of New York City, Mrs. Irene Barber of New Jersey; a half-sister, Mrs. Grace Grimes Wilson of Newport Beach, Cal.; three grandnephews, nine grandnieces, seven great-grandparents, and eight great-grandnieces.

Fryou, 55, Are Held Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Rogers Fryou, 51, were held yesterday in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Claude Snowden officiating. Mrs. Rogers, who died Monday, is survived by her husband, A. A. Fryou; a son, J. A. Fryou of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren, Jonelle and Roger Fryou of Corpus Christi; four sisters, Mrs. LeRoy Franz of Bay City, Mrs. F. B. Lacy of Houston, Mrs. M. E. Reeh of Needville, and Mrs. L. C. Pierce of Livingston; four brothers, Herbert and Roy Rogers of Houston, J. H. Rogers of Corpus Christi, and Jack Rogers of Brazoria. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and of the Royal Neighbors. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and interment was in Cedarvale Cemetery. Daily Tribune, March 3, 1950 A. A. Fryou Dies Here This Morning Suddenly Mr. A. A. Fryou, for 35 years cashier for the Santa Fe Railroad here, died suddenly at the Matagorda County hospital at 6:30 this morning. He had been making plans with his sister-in-law and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Franz last night to go to the football game. He was taken to the hospital this morning early and death struck suddenly soon after. He was preceded in death about five years by his wife. He is survived by one son, Joe of Corpus Christi and two grandchildren, Jonelle and Roger. No arrangements have been made pending the arrival of his son.

Lorna Greer Fryou Joseph Arthur Fryou Joseph Arthur Fryou Graveside funeral services for Joseph A. Fryou, 79, of The Woodlands, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Thursday at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City with the Rev. Dave Kleinfeldt officiating. Mr. Fryou was born Aug. 8, 1915 in Rosenberg to Alphonse A. and Florence Rogers Fryou and died Sept. 5, 1994 at his home in The Woodlands. He attended public school in Bay City, graduating from Bay City High School in 1932. After graduating from the University of Texas, Mr. Fryou served in the U. S. Air Force, Pacific Theater, during World War II. He retired from Exxon in 1969, then pursued another career as a realtor in Austin for many years. Survivors include his wife of 52 years. Lorna G. Fryou of The Woodlands; a son, Roger Fryou and his wife, Kim, of Houston; a daughter, Jonelle Miller and her husband, Jim, of Austin; and grandchildren, Bradley and David Fryou and Jamie Miller. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10 a. m. to noon Thursday. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City.

Joseph Azolin Fryou Final Rites Are Held Sunday Afternoon For Joseph Fryou, 73 Final rites were held Sunday for Joseph Azolin Fryou, 73, who died in the Matagorda General Hospital Friday. Mr. Fryou was a retired Texas Company employee. Services were Sunday afternoon in Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Saunders officiating. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mr. Fryou is survived by one brother, A. A. of Bay City.

Adolph Gest Margaret Gest Margaret Mae Gest Margaret Mae Gest, 80, Angleton, died Tuesday, June 26, at the Lake Jackson Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Basils Catholic Church and Altar Society and a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court Immaculate Mary 2134. Survivors include: two daughters, Catherine “Catine” Pelsner? of Danbury, and Hazel Jones of Liberty; one sister, Ida Cox of Houston; three brothers, W. J. LeCompte of Danbury, George LeCompte of Brazoria, and Albert LeCompte of Bay City; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Rosary will be Wednesday, June 27, at 7:30 p. m. in the Palm Funeral Home Chapel, in Angleton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, at 10:30 p. m. in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Danbury, with Father Anthony Orlando. Graveside services will be at 2 p. m. at the Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Palm Funeral Home in Angleton is in charge of arrangements. Local arrangements with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Fred Franklin Gest, 58, of Houston, Texas, former Bay City resident, died September 16 in Houston. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Opal Minton Gest, a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Dale Steed of Houston, two grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Ellen Gest of Bay City, two sisters, Mrs. Otis Birkner of Bay City and Mrs. Charles Stephenson of Plymouth, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held at the Oaks Christian Church of Houston, September 18, at 10:00 AM, with graveside services at 3:00 PM, September 18, at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Local arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
