Mrs. J. Quinney, Sr. - Anna Staggs Quinney

"Ma" Quinney, as she was lovingly called by everyone here joined her beloved husband in death Sunday evening, just nine days after his departure last week. Markham will indeed be an emptier place now that these friends are not with us. They are survived by two sons, John and Frank, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Hardy, numerous grandchildren, great grand children, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Quinney were held from the Baptist Church.

Edward Quinney, Sr.

Funeral services for Edward Quinney Sr., 71, of Port Aransas will be held 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Ashby Cemetery in Ashby.

Mr. Quinney was born Nov. 14, 1920, to Frank and Anna Mae Butcher Quinney in Markham and died Feb. 9, 1992, at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

A former longtime resident of Markham, he was a resident of Port Aransas for the past 20 years. He was also affiliated with the Baptist church.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha Lacy of Bay City; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Quinney Jr. and Lois Quinney of Markham; two sisters, Ida Mae Sanford of Magnolia and Elnora Richardson of Bay City; two brothers, Frank Quinney of Markham and J. B. Quinney of Sheridan; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Milner, Thomas Freeze, Darrell Quinney, Lester Fonse Jr., Michael Figart and Grady Quinney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Adams and Odie Milner.

Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

John Jasper Quinney

Mr. John Jasper Quinney, Markham, Texas, passed away at his home Fri, morning at 3:40 a. m., at the age of 77 years, 8 months and five days. Mr. Quinney had been a resident of Markham for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Quinney, one daughter, Mrs. A. C. (Alice Clara) Hardy of Bay City, two sons, John Jasper, Jr. of Markham, and Frank of Bay City; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Suitor of Comanche, Okla., and Mrs. Anna Jabes [Jobes] of San Antonio, Texsa, and one half-brother, Sam Gibson of Cuero, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at the Baptist Church in Markham at 10:00 a. m., Saturday, June 1st.

Rev. R. E. Black and Rev. Arthur Maxwell will officiate. The funeral arrangements will be under the direction of the Walker-Matchett Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Ashby Cemetery.

John Stanford Robertson
Funeral Services For Ashby Resident Held September 14

Funeral services for J. S. Robertson, 76, of Ashby were held last Wednesday at the Ashby Cemetery with the Rev. George Gillespie officiating.

Mr. Robertson, who was a member of the Church of Christ, died at a hospital in El Campo.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Irene Robertson; a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Hicks of El Campo; three sons, Theron, Ortho, and Rufus Robertson, all of Ashby.

John Theron Robertson

John Theron Robertson of Ashby passed away at 11 p. m. Sunday, October 27th, in Veterans' Administration Hospital in Houston. He had been seriously ill for several weeks.

Louis "Butch" Schneider, Jr.

Funeral services for Louis "Butch" Schneider Jr., 39, of Palacios, are scheduled for 2 p. m. today at the Palacios Funeral chapel with the Rev. Don Delaplain officiating. Burial will follow in Ashby Cemetery.

Mr. Schneider was born March 1, 1955, in Port Lavaca to Louis Willie and Birdie Neldine Spoor Schneider Sr. and died July 1, 1994.

He was a lifelong resident of the Palacios area.

Survivors include his father, Louis Willie Schneider Sr., of Palacios; a son, Taylor; a sister, Deborah Murray of Palacios; a brother, Roger Schneider of Bay City; a half-brother, Jeffery McGallion of Silsbee; two step-brothers, James Koch of Olivia and David Koch of Edna.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie Spoor Schneider and by a step-mother, Sue Schneider.

Pallbearers are James Koch, David Koch, Donnie Lenz, Ricky Milam, James Cepak and Vinson Tollison.

Honorary pallbearers are his uncles.

Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home of Palacios.

Louis Willie Schneider, Sr.

Funeral services for Louis Willie Schneider Sr., 69, of Palacios are scheduled for 3 p. m., Feb. 4 at the Palacios Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Kopecky and Rev. Ronald Fields officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashby Cemetery near El Maton.

Louis Schneider passed away Feb. 2 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. He was born Dec. 1, 1928 in Shiner to Alfred and Rosie Schumann Schneider. He was a lifelong resident of Palacios; a former employee of Alcoa Aluminum;  and a member of the Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Michael Murray of Palacios; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Neil and Freda Schneider of Bay City, Ronald Wayne Bradshaw of Bay City, David and Beverly Koch of Edna and James Koch of Olivia; his sisters, Ruby Mae Boettcher of Palacios, Olga Kusak of Needville and Lillie Marek of Port Lavaca; brothers, Edgar Schneider and Marvin Schneider both of Bay City, Weldon Schneider of Houston, Alfred Schneider of Point Comfort, Melvin, Herbert and Ted Schneider, all of Palacios and Dickie Schneider of Port Lavaca; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glada Rae "Sue" Koch Schneider in 1988; a son, Louis W. "Butch" Schneider in 1994; a sister, Gladys Rice; and a brother, Walter Schneider.

Pallbearers are Gaven Schneider, Derin Schneider, Jayson Malone, Joey Koch, James Earnhardt, Robbie Murray, Traylor Rains and Leland Boyd. Honorary pallbearers are John Glenn, John Boettcher and James Cepak.

Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
