Those who enjoyed Christmas dinner with Mrs. Bea McFeron and Tommy were: Mr. and Mrs. Bill McFeron and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ronny McFeron and Perry from Vanderbilt, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nawara from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Klaus and family, Mrs. Blanch Thedford, Darrell, Larkin and Bubba.

Mrs. J. V. Billings and daughter, Carolyn, and Mrs. J. H. Hood, and daughter, Sharon, went to Houston last Thursday. Mrs. Billings went to the doctor there.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thedford and family had Christmas dinner for: Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and girls, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Moody, Mr. and Mrs. George Northen from Edna, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moody from Edna, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Moody and Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Smith from Bay City, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Samuelson,

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family went to Mrs. Billing's sister's house for Christmas dinner last Wednesday. Mrs. Billings' mother, Mrs. Addie Adams from Cuero, came home with the Billings.

Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Fisher and family went to Houston last Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fisher.

Mrs. Fisher's father, C. F. Newman, visited the Fishers awhile last week. He is from Goodrich, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Newman and sons from Ritley, Tennessee visited with Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Fisher a few weeks ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody while on vacation last week went to see relatives in Corsicana, Texas and on the way home saw their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody at Beaumont. They also stopped in Houston to visit relatives there.

Mr. and Mrs. Q. R. Thedford had Christmas dinner for Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Thedford and family, Diane and Terry Thedford from Point Comfort, and Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody.

Those who visited with Mr.: and Mrs. Jack Henderson and family on Christmas Day were Mrs. Mary Venglar, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Henderson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Weaver and family and Milton Venglar.

Those who visited Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Sappington Christmas Day were Mr. and Mrs. William Thedford and family, Mr. and Mrs. Doody Sappington and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Sappington and family and Mr. and Mrs. William Sappington.

Mrs. Irma Bozeman and Miss Johnny Bozeman visited the Sappington's on Christmas Eve.

Mrs. J. Sappington went on a business trip to Edna last Tuesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Ogdon from Pleasanton, visited the Coles last week. Also last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cole were home from Houston. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Peters visited Mr. and Mrs. H. Sears last week.

Bro. and Mrs. R. Drews and family were down visiting in Lolita last week.

Betty Sue Karl had a Birthday Party last week. Cake and punch were served among other things. Those present were: Jimmy Fitzpatrick, John Cornejo, Beverly Schneider, Glenda Jones, Carolyn Newton, Jimmy Wimberly, Patsy Sembera, Peggy Horne, Rosemarie Sralla, Sammy Allen, Jerry Stacy, Lawrence Gopffart, Clovis Wimberly, Barbara Huseman, Janice Thedford, Kelly Frels, Mary Ann Sears, Douglas Ledkins, Wiley Hendon, Donny White, Ira Joe Klaus, Farris Samuelson, John Talbot, Carolyn Bowen, Charles Dotson, Patsy Karl, Linda Karl, and Larry Karl.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Karl were present to supervise the party. A treasure Hunt was the main feature of the party, and other games followed this.

Brother and Mrs. Averett were gone last week for Christmas.

Those who were present at Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Argo's home for Christmas dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McFeron and family from New Gulf, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Baca and family from Bolling, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Klaus and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Woodruff, Mr. and Mrs. Facey Woodruff and family from Vanderbilt.

The L. Hornes went to Edna to visit Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Horne

last week.

A group of teenagers gathered at Peggy Horne's house last week. They were Sue Karl, LaRue Gopffarth, Lawrence Gopffarth, John Cornejo, and Pierce Frels. Mr. and Mrs. Frels, also came over to visit the Hornes.

Mrs. Young gave her Sunday School Class a party last Monday Those present were: Sharon Cole, Adair Chapman, Betty Billings, Cissy Fisher, Sharon Bowen, Dorothy Thedford, and Carol Hoskins. Her granddaughter, Donald Lynn, was there too.

Mrs. Young gave each girl a beautiful stuffed dog. They were pink, blue and black.

The Schneiders are down visiting in Lolita..

The Chapmans have a new car. It sure is pretty.

All boys and girls in Lolita 6, 7, and 8 years of age, are invited to attend Sunbeams each Monday evening right after school. The Sunbeams sure have fun, and we are happy to have any new members.

Have you seen the Frel's new car? It's a '58 blue and white Ford. It's a beauty!

A family reunion and Christmas dinner was enjoyed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody December 29, 1957. All of these people were present:

Sisters of Mrs. Moody that were present were:

Mrs. L. M. Absher and children, Pat, Jan, and Donne of Houston, Miss Violet Thedford of San Antonio, Mrs. Jens Christensen and children, Jens and Carol Ann, of Robstown.

Sister-in-law present was: Mrs. Blanch Thedford and Bubba of Lolità.

Brothers present were: Mr. and Mrs. Q. R. Thedford and children, Roswell, Wanda, Hope, Pierce, Dennis and Gary of Lolita, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Thedford and children, Allie, Dorothy, Donald, and Nadine of Lolita, Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Thedford and children, Janice, Glenda and Nancy of Lolita, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody's son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody and son, Michael of Beaumont were there too.

Darrell Thedford of Beaumont and L. T. Thedford of Edna, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Moody and family of Bay City and Mr. and Mrs. J. Boone, our former Lolita school supt. with all of the previously mentioned of Needville also visited the people above,

Mrs. C. T. Fisher, leader of the G. A.'s of the First Baptist Church, Lolita, gave the Intermediate G. A.'s a combined New Years Eve party and a slumber party. Each G. A. was told that she could invite one person, The party was till 12 o'clock, then the rest of the night was a slumber party for the girls,

Those who attended the party were Jerry Fisher, Allie Fox.=, Sharon Basset, from La Salle, Ruby Cornelous, Sue Karl, Peggy Horne, Carolyn Billings, Mary Ann Sears, LaRue Gopffarth, Lawrence Gopffarth, Tommy McFeron, John Cornejo, Don Deyton, and Donny White. Others were invited but due to other things, they were unable to come.

Refreshments consisted of punch, soda water, cup cakes, cookies, sandwiches, and various kinds of candy. Many games were played and everyone had loads of fun.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Bruce and daughters, Mary Ann and Diane, have moved back to Lolità from Chicago, Illinois. We are glad that you all are back with us again.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Skarpa from Edna visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Tate New Year's day. That evening the Tates visited in the Herman Fox's home.

Mr. and Mrs. Barron Snyder, from Corpus Christi, visited his parent, Granny Snyder, last weekend.

A Going Away Party was held for the E. L. Porters last Thursday night. Refreshments of coffee and cookies were served. Everyone had a good time. Out of town guests were:

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Selby of Ganado; Mr. and Mrs. Howell from Ganado, Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Whitstine of Edna. There were others present from Lolita.

Tommy Richards of El Campo visited last week with the Stones.

We are sorry to report the death of Mr. John Fitzpatrick Sr. We extend the deepest sympathy to the family and all the relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Lenord Nawara of Houston visited Mrs. Nawara’s mother last weekend.

Mrs. J. V. Billings went to the doctor at Houston last Thursday. Carolyn went with her. Mrs. Billings is recovering from an allergy.

We are happy to know that Mr. and Mrs. Hood, Sharon and Larry are moving back to Lolita. We will be glad to have them all back.

Mr. C. Argo was in the hospital at Ganado last week. We hope he is doing batter.

Mrs. Bessy Fitzpatrick was in the hospital at Wharton last week. We hope she is feeling better.

Mrs. H. E. Fox, Bennie and Dallas have been sick recently. We hope they are well by now.

Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Jerkins and family of Edna visited Mr. M. Jerkins’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker last weekend. We hear that Mr. Walker is doing fine after his eye operation. We hope he continues doing so.

Mrs. Clem Fisher has announced that the Intermediate G. A.’s have changed meeting days from Monday to Tuesday after school. All girls of Intermediate (13-16) age are urged to come.

Sunbeams also meet on Monday after school. All boys and girls 6-8, or school age are invited to come.

I will appreciate any news anyone can give me for the paper. I did nto send in any news the last two weeks either because I didn’t have any news, or not enough for news. Thanks!

Jimmie and Hugo Gopffarth from Kingsville, and Herb File visited Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gopffarth. Also visiting the Gopffarth's last week was Mr. Gopffarth's brother, George Gopffarth, and Mr. Nance from Buda, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family went to San Antonio last weekend to visit Mr. Foxe's mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Ira Everage from Buffalo visited Mrs. Bea McFeron and family last week.

Mrs. J. W. Cole and Sandra Sappington gave Brenda Cole a birthday party Jan. 17. Brenda was five years old. Pin-the-tail on the donkey and other games were played, also favors of gum and balloons were given out. Refreshments consisted of cake ice cream and soda water. Those present were: Gary and Mark Edmondson, Johnny Ray and Nancy Reeves, Freddy Ray and Delores Jean Tifchhauser, Joan and Cindy Parsons, and Cynthia and Diane and Simon McCloud Jr. Also Kenneth Wayne and Gary Lynn Edwards, Bobbie Thedford, Diane Bruce, Steven Sutton, Judy Casey, Carol Susan Herreth, Doug McFeron, Timmy Deyton and Susie Schoonover. The mothers present were: Mrs. J. V. Reeves, Vanderbilt, Mrs. F. McCloud, Mrs. J. H. Hood, Mrs. L. Edmondson, Mrs. Fred Tilchhauser, Mrs. K. Edwards and Mrs. William Thedford.

Ronny McFeron had a birthday last Friday, Jan. 31. Happy Birthday Ronny!

Whose new pink '58 Oldsmobile have we seen in Lolita lately? It's Benjamin Sembera's car, and it's a beauty too. He is a rider of Mr. Billings, and Mr. Henderson.

Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody went to see their son, daughter-in-law and grandson at Beaumont last weekend.

We're sorry to know that Mrs. Bessie Fitzpatrick is still in the hospital. We hope by the time this paper is issued, that she will be home.

C. Argo is still in the hospital at Ganado at the time of this writing. We hope he's better.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Petrich from Lake Jackson visited with the R. T. Walkers, and the D. J. Walkers last week.

Mrs. Raymond Karl is in the hospital. We hope she comes home soon, and gets well.

Mr. and Mrs., J. V. Billings went to Houston Wednesday. Mrs. Billings had to go to the doctor. She is getting better.

BRIDAL SHOWER

Miss Allie Jane Thedford, bride-elect of Roy Harvey Robinson was honored with a bridal shower at the Lolita Baptist Church Educational Building Friday afternoon.

There were 50 who registered. She received many beautiful gifts.

Cake, coffee and mints were served to the guests.

Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. I. Seale, Mrs. W. W. Deyton, Mrs. Harold Deyton, Mrs. Faye Schoonover, Mrs. Clem Fisher, Mrs. Leon Horne, Mrs. Grover Klaus, and Mrs. Buford Carnes.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Petrich from Lake Jackson visited with Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker last week from Friday till Wednesday. Leo Petrich worked on his rent houses and he also bought 6 8-10 acres of land from R. T. Walker.

Happy Birthday to Danna Suggs. She was 9 years old last week.

Everyone enjoyed the snow we had last Wednesday. Various snowmen were seen all over Lolita. We hope everyone got their share of snowball fighting, but that none's sick from the snow.

BRIDAL SHOWER

Miss Hope Thedford. bride-elect of Mr. Larry Alberty, was complimented with a miscellaneous shower, February 11, at the home of Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody.

The hostesses were Mrs. Roy L. Tate, Mrs. A. Young, Mrs. Nancy Lee Moody, Mrs. A. M. Averett, and Mrs. H. Sears.

The bride-elect received many nice gifts.

Mrs A. M. Averett underwent surgery last Thursday in the Wharton hospital. We hope you are much better by now, Mrs. Averett.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cole and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Wendt, from Houston, visited Mr. and Mrs. William Sappington, and Mr. and Mrs. J W. Cole last week end.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fletcher and daughter, Nita, are new residents in Lolita. We're glad to have you.

Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Williams and daughter, Barbera from Corpus visited Mrs. E. Chapman last weekend.

Basketball Party

The younger Intermediate Training Union Class of the First Baptist Church, Lolita, had a Basketball Party last Friday Night. The sponsors of the party were Mrs. Hood, Mrs. Samuelson, Mr. Willbougy, and Mrs. Billings, Refreshments of sodawater and cookies were served to the people present.

Those who attended the Party were Sharon Cole, Sharon Bassett, Allie Fox, Jerry Fisher, Patsy Sumbera, Carolyn Bowen, Linda Steubing, Mary Ann Sears, Billie Jean McFeron, Peggy Horne, Sue Karl, Glenda Jones, Ronnie Carnes, John Coryeno, Farris Samuelson, Douglas Barfield, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, John Talbott, Don Deyton, Lawrence Gopffarth, Donnie White, and Ira Joe Klause, everyone had a good time.

We hope Mrs. Bessie Fitzpatrick will be home from the hospital soon. She is at Wharton.

The Brownings had a family reunion at Mr. and Mrs. Grover Klauses home last Saturday evening. They had a chicken barbecue. Out of town guests were: E. C. Browning from Houston, Lt. Col. James M. Browning and family from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Nowlin and family from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Knowlin and family from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Lenord Nawara from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Everage from Buffalo, Mr. and Mrs. Ronny McFeron and family from Vanderbilt, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wells from Edna and Mr. and Mrs. Larkin T. Thedford from Edna.

Those from Lolita who attended the reunion were: Mrs. Blanch Thedford, Darrell and Bubba, Mrs. Bea McFeron and family, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Klaus and family, Mr. Klaus's mother, Mrs. Klaus, Miss Anne and Julius Klaus.

Happy birthday to Mrs. H. E. Fox.

The deepest sympathy is extended to the Ed Holmes family upon the loss of Mr. Holmes, husband and father.

We are happy to have the J. D. Hoods back in Lolita. They moved in last week.

Happy birthday to Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and Pat Moody. Pat had a birthday party on the 14th of Feb. About 18 children were present. Everyone had fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody went to Angleton last week and spent the day, with Mr. Moody's brother and his family, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Moody.

Nina Holub from Bolling has been visiting Mrs. Ruth Moody the past week.

Mrs. Jack Henderson, and Johnny and Mrs. Leslie Henderson went to Baytown last weekend to visit friends and to attend the rodeo.

The deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Bobby Fitzpatrick and her family on the passing of her father.

The Junior Training Union and Sunday School division of the First Baptist Church of Lolita had a "delayed" valentine party Feb. 19. The workers present were Mrs. B. E. Carnes. Mrs. T. G. Jones, Mrs. W. Thedford, Mrs. Ed Coker Jr., and Mrs. Ed Coker Sr. Punch, cookies and mints were served. Those present were: Sharon Cole, Betty Billings, Vera Lee Fisher, Linda Shoemaker, Carol Eldredge, Eddie Coker, and Wiley Thedford.

Mrs. Averett came home from the hospital last week. We are glad she is home

The FHA of Industrial High School will go to the Fat Stock Show and rodeo at Houston, Saturday, March 1, 1958. Carolyn Billings will go from Lolita.

The 8th grade class of Industrial Junior High had a party last Friday night. About 25 were present. Mr. Willoughby sponsored the party. Games were played and refreshments of punch, cake, cookies, fudge, and gum were served. Everyone had fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Grover Klaus went to Houston last weekend as part of their vacation. They came home Wednesday.

Mrs. Bea McFeron, Bill and Tommy also went to Houston last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Argo and family took Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Woodruff to San Antonio last weekend to the doctor. They went Saturday and returned Tuesday.

Karen Klaus is working in Houston now.

We are glad to have Mr. and Mrs. Warner B. Reitz and family in Lolita. They have recently moved here.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and family moved beside Mr. and Mrs. Fisher's home.

This week has been very trying for school students at Industrial Schools. The 6 weeks tests have been taken now and we are feeling a little relieved.

The R. L. Bruces visited friends in Channelview last weekend.

Mrs. C. T. Fishers' father, C. F. Newman, visited with the Fishers last week. Mr. Newman is from Goodrich.

H. E. Fox took a group of girls to the show last Friday night. Allie Fox, Dallas Fox, La Rue Gopffarth, Peggy Horne, Ruby Cornelius and Carolyn Billings went.

All girls of Intermediate age are invited to come to G. A.’s each Tuesday after school. All children of Sunbeam age, 6 – 8, are invited to come to Sunbeams each Monday. Girls of Junior age are invited to come to G. A.’s on Monday of each week. There is an age group for you, so come to church regularly.

Weekend guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. P, Woodruff last week were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hamilton and family from Freer; Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McFeron and daughter, Mary from New Gulf; and Mr. and Mrs. Tracey Woodruff and family from Vanderbilt.

Mrs. Addie Adams from Cuero, visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family last weekend. Mrs. J. V. Billings is Mrs. A. Adams's daughter.

H. C. Klaus took A. P. Woodruff to Corsicana last weekend to his brother's funeral.

Mrs. Bessy Fitzpatrick came home from the hospital at Wharton last Wednesday. She is doing fine now.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Hood and family went to Houston and spent the weekend last week. Mr. Hood also went to the doctor.

Mrs. Billy Dyson went to the hospital last Thursday and had minor surgery done. She came home Friday night and is now doing nicely.

Mrs. J. V. Billings and Carolyn went to Houston last Wednesday to take Mrs. Billings to the doctor.

Dorothy Walker had the measles last week. We are glad that she is well now.

Mr. Rutz had the mumps last week. We hope he is better now.

Mrs. Blanch Thedford had the flu last week. To her we also ex-tend the get well message.

Mrs. C. T. Fisher's brother, Mr. Charles Dean Newman, is home from Alaska. He is living with them now.

W. A. Valentine, from Yoakum, visited friends in Lolita last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goppert and family visited the Jack Deytons last week. Mr. Goppert will work in Port Lavaca and they will live near Lolita.

The Junior G. A.'s sponsored by Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody, had a slumber party last Friday night. Everybody had fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Snyder and family recently moved back to Lolita. We're glad they are back.

Mrs. Leo Petrick from Lake Jackson, and Mrs. M. E. Rogers from Palacios, visited last week with the D. J. Walker's and with the W. C. Moody's.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Patterson and daughter, Janice; Mrs. Floyd Lanier, Mrs. C. M. Hitt, and B. J. Altom from Seagoville visited with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family the latter part of last month.

Mrs. R. R. Spellmann and family from Cuero spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family last Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Horne and Peggy spent last weekend with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ramsey and Candy at. Houston.

The Industrial Jr. High Band went to Bay City last Saturday to a band clinic. This is to help prepare them for contest.

We hope Mrs. Francis Edwards is feeling better now. She was sick.

Harold Sappington and Don Smith went to Austin last week on business and pleasure matters.

Jimmie and Hugo Gopffarth of Kingsville, spent the weekend last week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gopffarth.

Albert Gopffarth of Baytown spent Monday and Tuesday of last week with his brother, H. R. Gopffarth.

The First Baptist church of Lolita is going to have a revival the 24-30 of this month. The evangelist that will hold the revival is Rev. Abe Hester Jr., pastor of College Avenue Baptist Church, Lubbock.

Mrs. A. M. Averett's mother, Mrs. Susie Byrd from Archer City, Texas is visiting with Brother and Mrs. Averett.

Mrs. J. Hood took her father-in- law, Mr. Hood to Ganado to the doctor last week. He will have his cast removed from his leg in three weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody and son, of Beaumont visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody, last weekend.

Mrs. J. V. Billings went to Houston last Monday to the doctor. Mrs. Bea McFeron and Mrs. Clarence McFeron visited Mrs. McFeron's daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Yates of New Gulf. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Mays of Richmond last week.

The WMS of the First Baptist Church of Lolita had their week of prayer for Home Missions last week. The theme of the program was "Faith Working Through Love." There was a good attendance each day.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. James Gillis and family on the birth of a boy, Allen Scott.

On April 3, 4, 5 in Brownwood, a Queens' Court will be held. This is for girls who have obtained the step of Queen in G. A.'s. Peggy Horne, Carolyn Billings, Allie Fox, and Jerry Fisher plan to go sponsored by Mrs. Hood, one of the G. A. counselors.

Walker and Mary were: Mr. Olan Walker's mother, Mrs. Nettie Walker, and sister, Mrs. R. S. Bradley from Ft. Worth: Mrs. Ida Walker's brother, Felix Hillmer from San Antonio; his son from Victoria and family, Erma Lee, Dorothy, and Bill Walker, and also a cousin of theirs, Shirley. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Jerkins and family also came by to say happy birthday.

We are sorry to report that Mrs. Tracey Woodruff was in the hospital at Ganado. We hope you have a speedy recovery.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Aber of Beaumont were visiting the J. F. Stones over the last weekend. Mrs. Ruby Aber of Cordele also visited with them too.

Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Fox and family went to Corpus Christi last weekend to visit friends.

Lt. Col. and Mrs. J. M. Browning from Houston visited relatives in Lolita last weekend.

Rev. and Mrs. Johnny Barrett of Goliad visited with Rev. and Mrs. Averett or Lolita last week.

Mrs. Averett went to the M. D. Anderson Hospital at Houston Tuesday. She will stay there several weeks, probably. We wish you the speediest of recoveries, Mrs. Averett.

Alvin Lee Moody made a business trip to Houston last week.

Mrs. Fisher's father, Newman, left last Tuesday to go home to Goodrich.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Alberty from LaMarque visited in Lolita last weekend.

The Industrial Junior High Band went to Victoria last Friday evening for UIL contest. They placed second in concert playing. Congratulations.

The majorettes have their uniforms now and they sure are pretty.

Joe and Jack Harris went to Rockport last Sunday week ago to the Drag races. Joe won a trophy in B. fuel three weeks ago at Victoria.

Wayne Argo is driving a model A Coupe. He is planning to put a Chevrolet V8 in it soon.

Mr. and Mrs. Simon McCloud's son, Sim Jr., is home from the hospital after having pneumonia. We wish him a speedy recovery.

The Industrial Senior play, "Sweetie" will be held in the new auditorium at Vanderbilt on April 11. The admission for adults is 50 cents and students 25 cents. Everyone be sure and come.

There is a lot of measles here, and also chicken pox. We wish and everyone that has these diseases will be up and about soon.

The First Baptist Church of Lolita will have their spring revival starting April 28 through May 4. Everyone is welcomed to come and attend these services.

Betty Cornelius was home last weekend from Lamar Tech. of Beaumont to visit her parents and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Cornelius here.

Mrs. J. V. Billings went to see her doctor at Houston last Tuesday.

Mrs. Bea McFeron and Mrs. Annie McFeron from LaWard went along also. We all stopped by and visited Mrs. A. M. Averett in the M. D. Anderson hospital. She is doing very good. We hope she will be home soon.

Clem Fisher hurt his back at work We wish him a speedy recovery.

The Texana Silver Tea is only a week away, April 25. It will be held from three to eight o'clock at the home of Mayor and Mrs. Harry Mauritz, Everyone be sure and go. Try to go in costume if you possibly can.

The eighth grade class of Industrial Junior High took their annual trip to San Antonio last Saturday. We hope everyone had fun,

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings, Carolyn, Betty, and Joe Robert went to Rockport last Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Adams. The occasion was Mrs. Billings mother’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Adams had a turkey dinner in Mrs. Adam's honor. Then Mrs. Addie Adams came home with the Billings.

We are sorry that LaRue, Allie and Dallas had the measles. Hope you are well now.

The Senior Play at Vanderbilt last Friday night was very good. A good crowd attended.

We are sorry that Mrs. Hood hurt her foot at Queens Court. Hope it gets well fast, Mrs. Hood.

Mrs. A. M. Averett came home last weekend. She has been in the hospital in Houston.

The students from Lolita in the Industrial High School Band had a cake sale last Friday and Saturday. The purpose of this was to raise money so the band can go to Chicago in July.

Mrs. Hood took her father-in-law to Houston Monday to get his hearing aid. Tuesday Mrs. Flood's father-in-law went to Kansas visit his relatives.

Mrs. Bea McFeron, Bill and Tommy spent last weekend in Houston visiting relatives..

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cole from Houston visited his parents and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cole last weekend.

We wish a speedy recovery to everyone that has the measles or other sicknesses. La Rue Gopffarth was taken to the hospital with measles. Also Mrs. LaVerne Barfield.

Brenda Cole and Terry Baker are others who have recently had the measles

Mrs. Woodruff's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Kenicell from San Antonio visited them last week.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McFeron of New Gulf also visited Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff.

Grandma Newport is in the hospital in Ganado with pneumonia. We hope that she recovers fast and soon be able to come home.

The Stones have a new 1958 Oldsmobile. It's very pretty.

Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Woodruff and children from Magnolia Camp visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Woodruff last Friday.

We hope that John Heaton will soon be well, and at home. He has been in the hospital about two weeks.

We're glad that A. P. Woodruff came home from the hospital, and we hope he is doing well now.

June and Donal Aber, from Beaumont are visiting the J. G. Stones of Lolita. They are also visiting his mother in Cordele, Mrs. Henry.

Wade Short of Bruni is visiting the J. G. Stones and other friends in Lolita.

Well, the Texana Days are finally here. We, hope everyone will enjoy the parade today. We also hope that everyone will attend the other interesting events.

Mr. and Mrs. John Cornejo spent last weekend in Baytown with the Dallas Homes' family.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Parsons and family went to Waco and Temple last weekend to visit relatives.

Many people, old and young alike, still have the measles. Sharron Basset and Lowana Baker have had the measles, We hope everyone will hurry and recover.

G. A. House Party

The annual G. A. House Party was held at the First Baptist Church in Cuero last Friday and Saturday, May 2, and 3. About 70 girls and counselors attended in all. From Lolita, Mrs. Ruth Hood went as counselor; Carolyn Billings, Sharon Basset, LaRue Gopffarth, Sue Karl and Ruby Cornelius were the G. A.'s who went from the First Baptist Chirch, Lolita. Everyone had a lot of fun.

A group of girls from Lolita have signed up to take bowling lessons. This is being taught at the new Bowling Center at Victoria after school is out. These lessons will teach beginners and other people who don't know very much about bowling, the rules and etc. We are looking forward to a lot of fun.

The annual music festival was held last Saturday. A lot of people attended it and we hope everyone was satisfied with their ratings.

The Junior Senior Prom and banquet of Industrial High School was held last Friday night, May 2. Just from talk, everyone must have had lots of fun, and also, I heard that there were many very pretty formals also.

Mrs. Don Snyder accompanied the Devorak baby to Galveston last Tuesday. We sincerely hope that the baby will be well very soon.

Mrs. Ruth Hood took her father-in-law, Roy Hood, to Houston last Wednesday to get his new glasses and his hearing aid. Mrs. J. V. Billings went also.

The First Baptist Church of Port Lavaca had a youth rally last Saturday night. Those who went from here were Carolyn, Betty and Joe Robert and Mrs. J. V. Billings, Sharon Bassett and Tommy McFeron.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob McFeron from New Gulf visited relatives here last weekend.

GA Houseparty

The annual Junior G. A. Houseparty was held at Edna at the First Baptist Church last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Moody, the GA counselor, took the following girls: Vera Lee Fisher, Pat Moody, Linda Karl, Betty Billings, Jo Marie Moody, Sharon Cole, Barbara Smalley and Carol Bluebaker.

We are happy to welcome Rhesa Sue Averett into our community. Congratulations to Brother and Mrs. A. M. Averett.

Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Braun of Houston and James Tesh from Hallettsville visited Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Koenning of Lolita.

We are happy that Jerry Glynn Dvorak is doing better. We hope he is home soon..

The GA's of Lolita had a swimming party at the Vanderbilt pool last Saturday evening. This past week, May 12-18 was GA Focus Week. The girls who went were Sharon Basset, Carolyn Billings, Jerry Fisher, and Allie Fox. Mrs. Hood took them and went along as sponsor. This party was to close GA Focus Week, as the GA did not have a program in the church.

Mrs. Mary Fox Altom of San Antonio visited with friends and relatives here last week. She stayed one week.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Navawa, from Houston, visited her mother, Mrs. Bea McFeron and brother, Tommy, last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Clem Fisher and family visited her brother and family Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Newman of Harlingen over Memorial Day weekend.

The Golden Circle Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Lolita had their class party at Mrs. Jack Henderson's house. Refreshments consisted of ice tea and cake.

The members present were Mrs. Shoemaker, Mrs. Bobbie Fitzpatrick, Mrs. A. M. Averett, Mrs. Clem Fisher, Mrs. Faye Schoonover and Susie, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Sunshine Edwards, their Sunday school teacher.

Cissey Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Fisher, is visiting in Houston with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fisher. She returned with her grandmother who had been down for the promotion of another granddaughter, Jerry Fisher.

Mr. and Mrs., Clovis King, of Roaring Springs, visited with Rev. and Mrs. A. M. Averett recently.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family visited relatives at Dallas over the Memorial Day weekend. We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Rueben Cornelius is in the Ganado hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Mrs. Ruth Hood, Larry and Sharon left for Kansas last Thursday to visit her mother. Grandpa Hood went with them as far as Houston to take the train for La. to visit relatives there.

Carolyn Billings gave a party last Thursday evening for some children in the neighborhood. Refreshments of punch and cookies were served. Those present were Gary, Carol, Kay, Mark, and Rory Hafernick, Penny Jones, Elizabeth Smalley, Nita Coker, Terry Baker, Linda and Allen Koenning, Johnny Henderson, and Joe Robert Billings. Mrs. Clem Fisher was present to help with the party. This party will help me on my Queen Regent Step in G. A.

Tommy McFeron is staying at Rosenberg with Mr. and Mrs. Nawara, his brother-in-law's mother and father.

The Faith Class of First Baptist Church of Lolita had their class party last Tuesday night at Mrs. Ida Walker's home.

The members present for the party were Mrs. Clint Moody, Mrs. Doc Willoughby, Mrs. J. J. Sappington, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Frank Cobb, Mrs. Nolan, Mrs. Ruth Moody, Mrs. Jean Thedford, Mrs. Alice Bowen, and Mrs. Ida Walker. The W. O. Walker's family were over visiting Mr. and Mrs. Walker.

We are sorry that Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Baker, Dennis and Yvonne have moved back to Tennessee. We shall miss them a lot.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Petrich from Lake Jackson, and Frank Hillmer from Yorktown visited Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker over the weekend Bill Walker went home with them Wednesday to stay for a while.

The Vacation Bible School at the First Baptist church of Lolita starts at 8 o'clock each morning and ends at 11 o'clock. Preparation day is on Saturday, June 7th. The age limit is 4-16 years old. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mrs. Mary Hamilton has returned home from Big Springs and Lubbock where she has been visiting her two sons, Tommy Lee and Norman Hamilton.

Bobbie Sutton went to Houma, La. last Monday to visit relatives.

Mrs. J. P. Allen and sons from Freer are visiting relatives here. The Little League and the Pee Wee League are really in full swing here at Lolita. All we hear is baseball and all we see are bats and balls. We wish them luck.

Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Stone, Jerry and Mrs. Ruby Aber went to Beaumont for the graduation of Donald Aber at Lamar Tech.

We wish to congratulate Jerry Stone upon being chosen from Industrial to go to Boys State at the University of Texas at Austin. It Is June 8-14, sponsored by the American Legion.

Rev. and Mrs. E. E. Smith of Round Rock have been in Lolita part of the last two weeks repairing their house and visiting their relatives. They returned to Round Rock Friday, where they both will be busy with revivals and vacation Bible school.

The J. J. Sappington's had for dinner, Sunday Jerry Sutton, Mr. and Mrs. James Sappington and son, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Sappington and son and Mr. and Mrs. William Thedford and children.

Doody Sappington was operated on Wednesday, May 18. He is in the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Victoria. He is doing nicely and is expected to be home in two weeks.

Mrs. J. J. Sappington spent part of Wednesday evening and Thursday morning with her son in the hospital at Victoria

At the First Baptist Church the time of the GA's and the Sunbeams has been, changed to 2:30 each Monday and Tuesday evening. Don't forget the new time

Charles David Newman, Mrs. Fisher’s nephew, visited the Fisher’s last week. Last Wednesday Fisher and Charles D. Newman went to visit their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fisher at Houston.

Mrs. Addie Adams is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family. Mrs. Billings entered new Herman Hospital at Houston last Friday. She hopes to be home in a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and girls have gone to Ft. Worth to visit the O. L. Whitakers, and then on to Oklahoma.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nawara, from Houston and Tommy McFeron of Rosenberg, visited Mrs. Bea McFeron last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Valentine came down last weekend and visited all of their friends and relatives here.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox, Dallas, Bennie, Allie and Herman, Tommy McFeron and Carolyn Billings and Mrs. Thedford and children went to Port Alto for a picnic, and then swimming afterwards. All had a good time.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and children, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Moody and Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Walker and children, all of Lolita. Mrs. Leo Petrich and children of Houston were also there. Later, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Jerkins and children also came to visit.

Mrs. J. V. Billings came home last Friday from the hospital in Houston. Her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Capac came to see her last Saturday night. Their children and wives who also came were: Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lambright and Rickey of La., and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Lambright of Arkansas. Miss Glenda Jones visited in Port Arthur last week.

Mr. and Mrs., R. L. Bruce and family went to Channelview last weekend to visit relatives. Mr. Bruce also went hunting.

The Lolita Little League played Ganado last week and won 7-0. The pitchers of the Lolita team were Pokey Jones and Wiley Thedford. Karl Allen made a homerun.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Fitzpatrick and family went to Ft. Worth last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to visit relatives there. LaRue stayed at Fort Worth for a visit. The Palace Bowling Center at Victoria is giving free bowling instructions to those who wish to take them. A group of teenagers from Lolita, taken by Mrs. Hood, went last Friday for the first lesson. They plan to go again June 27.

The ones who went were: Sharon Basset, Larry Basset, Carolyn Billings, Mary Ann Bruce, Tommy McFeron, Jerry Fisher, Allie Fox, Lawrence Gopffarth, Sue Karl and Linda Steubing.

Everyone had much fun and we are looking forward to our next lesson.

We are glad to report that Edwin Lee Coker is out of the hospital at the time of this writing.

Mrs. Addie Adams of Cuero went home last Sunday after a three weeks stay with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings of Lolita.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Earp and children of Crane visited the C. T. Fisher family over the weekend. The Earps are former residents of Lolita.

Bill Turner, of Baytown, visited the Fishers and the Bruces over the weekend.

Dean Newman is visiting in Houston with his mother.

The Intermediate GA's of First Baptist Church of Lolita had a swimming party and picnic at Port Alto last Tuesday. The leaders, Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Hood went. The GA's who went were Jerry Fisher, Sue Karl, Sharon Basset, Allie Fox, Ruby Cornelius and Carolyn Billings.

The Intermediate Training Union had a hayride last Saturday night. Bro. A. M. Averett and William Thedford went along with: Melverene Huseman, Herman Fox, Barbara Huseman, Tommy McFeron, Glenda Jones, Ronny Carnes, Willard Schoonover, Mary Ann Bruce, Sue Karl, Jimmey Fitzpatrick, William Gopffarth, Bobbie Sutton, Don Deyton, John Derald Talbot, Helen Sanders, Sharon Basset, Carolyn Billings, Allie Fox and Jerry Fisher. Everyone had a good time.

A group of teenagers went bowling last Friday evening at the Victoria Palace Bowling Center. Those who went were: Allie Fox, Sharon Basset, Jerry Fisher, Mary Ann Bruce, Peggy Horne, Sharon Cole, Sue Karl, Carolyn Billings, Larry Basset, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Kelley Frels, Tommy McFeron, Herman Fox, Lawrence Gopffarth and Mrs. Hood. Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. J. V. Billings, Betty Jean and Joe Robert went along but did not bowl.

The General Encampment is going on over at the Palacios Encampment. Everyone is invited to go.

The Junior GA's of the First Baptist Church, Lolita, had a swimming party last Monday evening. Those who attended were Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody, Pat, Jo, Betty Billings, Cissey Fisher and Sharon Cole.

Billings, Mrs. Roy Tate, Mrs. Herman Fox, Mrs. W. W. Deyton, Mrs. B. E. Carnes, Mrs. Faye Schoonover, Mrs. Sam Allen, Mrs. J. B. Sutton and Gail, Mrs. L. H. Nagel, Mrs. Bobbie Fitzpatrick, Mrs. U. W. May Ann Bruce is out of town visiting relatives.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy fourth of July. The Lavaca River Park was filled to capacity.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hood are adding on to their house. It sure will be nice.

Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Jerkins, Richard and Norman visited Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker and other friends and relatives last weekend. They are from Longview.

Rev. and Mrs. Raymond Drews and family were visiting in Lolita and Vanderbilt last weekend. Everyone was glad to see them. The same group of teenagers are scheduled to go bowling at the Victoria Palace Bowling Center in Victoria Friday evening, July 11. This group really has been having fun and you are really missing a lot of fun if you don't bowl.

The Tri-Community singing will be held at Lolita in the First Baptist Church the 20th of this month. Everyone is invited to come and sing. You can hear some good old time singing. Be sure and come. Mrs. J. V. Billings is still going to the doctor in Houston. She went last Thursday along with Carolyn Billings, Mrs. Hood and Sharon Basset. We sure had fun.

Congratulations to the proud grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tate and daughters, on the arrival of their granddaughter born the 9th at Ganado hospital. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Skarpa of Ganado.

Mrs. A. P: Woodruff's sister and brother-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Morris and family from Washington, D. C. has been visiting them last week.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Slade and son from New Iberia, La. visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hood and family. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hood and son from Victoria.

Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Cornejo and Guy of Sherman, Texas visited in his brother's home, Mr. and Mrs. John Cornejo and family, last week.

A barbecue on the 4th was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and girls, Pat and Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Moody and Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Smith of Bay City, Mrs. Helen Abshire and four children of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody and baby of Orange, Mrs. Doc Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Samuelson and boys, Mrs. Marion Whittaker and girls of Ft. Worth. Hosts for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thedford and daughter

Mrs. Helen Abshire and children of Houston visited in the home of her sister, Mrs. Doe Moody and family on the weekend of the 4th.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Maxey and his mother of Edna, visited in the home of Grandma Moody last weekend. Mrs. Maxey is the granddaughter of Grandma Moody. Again say don't forget this date, July 20, for the tri-community singing to be held at The First Baptist Church of Lolita at 2:30 p. m. Everyone be sure and come.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gopffarth stayed several days at Garner State Park last week, LaRue returned home with them last Sunday.

I know that our Industrial band students had a wonderful trip to Chicago. I want to congratulate them in getting to make that trip. The students that went from here were: William Gopffarth, Patsy Karl. Nita Fletcher, Carol Bowen, and Dorothy Walker.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings, Carolyn, Betty and Joe Robert visited relatives at Brownwood last weekend and also at Zepher.

Jerry, Cissy and Gene Wayne Fisher returned home last weekend after visiting relatives at Baytown and Houston.

We were sorry to hear that Mrs. La Verne Barfield broke her right hand while playing baseball. We wish her a very speedy recovery.

Mr. and Mrs. Doc. Willoughby and Dorothy visited friends and relatives at Brownwood last week..

Mr. Newman from Goodrich is visiting his daughter, Mrs. Clem Fisher and family for awhile. He had been very sick. We hope for him a speedy recovery.

Welcome home to Edgar Coker who was discharged from the Navy and is at home here with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Ed. Coker Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bender and children from Boling. spent last Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Coker Jr. and family.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family are leaving today for their vacation.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family went to Cuero last Tuesday and Wednesday to visit Mrs. Billings mother, Mrs. Addie Adams, and sisters, Mrs. R. R. Spellman and children, and Mrs. C. L. Finch. Mrs. Adams has recently returned home from the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fox and family had the following for dinner last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Fox and family from La Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thedford and family, and Joe Robert Billings.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hood and son from Victoria visited his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. H. Hood and family, and his grandfather, Mr. Roy Hood.

We are glad that Sharon Bassett is home from the hospital, after a brief illness,

Joe Robert Billings had a Birthday Party last Thursday, July 24. He was nine years old. Games were played and punch and cake were served. Those present were Gary and Mark Hafernick, Dallas and Bennie Fox, Lawana and Terry Baker, Raymond Holloway, and Jack Temple, Harvin Suggs, Elizabeth Smalley, Linda Thedford, Dennis Hemple, Johnny Henderson and Brenda Henderson.

Joe Robert received many nice gifts.

Tommy McFeron visited in Rosenberg last week.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family vacationed last week at Seagoville, visiting relatives, and later went to the bay.

A youth rally will be held at the First Baptist Church August 2 at Cuero at 7:30 p. m, Burny Marten of Howard Payne College will be there. He is the world's Yo-Yo champion. Everyone is invited to come.

The Faith Sunday School Class had their party at Mrs. Clint Moody's house. The members present were Mrs. Doc Willoughby, Mrs. Rosie Moody, Mrs. Marie Hayes, Mrs. Ruth Moody, Mrs. Flossie Newport, Mrs. Florence Johnson, Mrs. Freida Klaus and Mrs. J. D. Walker. Mrs. A. M. Averett and her mother, Mrs. Bird, were visitors. Mrs. Averett brought the devotional on friendship. It was a very inspiring devotional. Refreshments of kool aid and coconut layer cake were served. Everyone had a good time. Those that weren't present really missed a blessing by not being there.

Mrs. Monroe Jerkins and three girls from Edna visited Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Walker last Sunday evening.

Vera Lee Fisher and Gene Wayne returned home last Friday from Baytown, where they have been visiting relatives. Jerry is visiting there for two weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family went to San Antonio last weekend to visit relatives there.

We were sorry to hear that Mrs. A. M. Averett has been put in the Herman Hospital in Houston. We wish her a speedy recovery. Bro. Averett, Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Averett’s mother, and Rhesa Sue are staying in Houston with Bro. Averett’s niece.

Mrs. Francis Temple’s sister, Miss Faye Reeves, has been down visiting Mrs. Temple and her family and friends.

The Baptist GA Camp is going to be held at Palacios this year, the last part of August. Every girl is invited to go.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goppert last Friday, August 1, at Ganado Hospital to gladden their home. We wish to congratulate the parents and the grandparents.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Deyton and sons went to Indianola week before last to camp out. Last week they went to Rockport and camped out.

Congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. John Young. She was formerly Miss Bobby Jean LaBan?.

Happy birthday to Molly Jean Billings on August 9. She will be 12 years old. Also Vera Lee Fisher who will also be 12 years old in August.

Miss Diana Bruce hurt her foot last Thursday evening. We hope she is better now.

Mr. and Mrs. William Thedford and children spent a week at Seadrift while he was working on a construction job there. He and his family enjoyed an outing and fishing with some swimming also.

Mrs. Johnnie Sappington and son, Harold Sappington, and Don spent the past weekend in Houston with Mrs. Sappington's sister and uncle's family. Friends of Mrs. E. E. Smith will be glad to hear she is strong and enjoying the best of health.

Miss Betty Jean Billings was honored with a birthday party last Saturday night. Refreshments of cake, soda water and ice cream were served after games were played. Those who attended were Barbara Smalley, Linda Schumaker, Betty Jo Dvorak, Cissey Fisher, Lawana Baker, Ralph Smalley and Wayne Smalley. Betty received many nice gifts.

The annual GA camp is being held at Palacios this week. Sharon Bassett and Carolyn Billings went from the First Baptist Church of Lolita, They were accompanied by their GA Counselor, Mrs. Ruth Hood.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody and son from Orange visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody, last weekend.

Mrs. A. M. Averett underwent surgery last Monday morning at the M. D. Anderson Hospital at Houston. We hope she will soon be better.

School will soon begin. Seems like we have had a very short summer.

Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Jerkins and family from Edna visited Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker last weekend.. Mrs. Marie Hayes also visited with the Walkers.

Mrs. L. Horne and Peggy visited Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ramsey in Houston last weekend. Peggy is staying there this week.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Nawara of Rosenberg visited Mrs. Bea McFeron last weekend. They brought Tommy McFeron home.

Mr. and Mrs. William Thedford and family sure are driving a pretty, new Plymouth. We are happy for them.

Jack Harris visited his parents this past weekend. He will be stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Samuelson and family came back last weekend from a three weeks vacation. They visited Laguna Beach, California with their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leissner, and visited Mr. Samuelson's sister in Los Angeles. They also visited Disneyland, Yosemite Park, Grand Canyon and the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.

DELAYED FROM LAST WEEK

The GA's of the First Baptist Church of Lolita presented a coronation last Sunday night, Sept. 26.

Those that took part in the coronation were presented their awards by Mrs. Blankenship from Baptist Temple, Edna. The GA counselors who helped plan this and made it a success were Mrs. Clem Fisher and Mrs. Ruth Hood. A reception was held directly afterwards in the old parsonage.

Linda Shumaker and Linda Karl were the maidens; Barbara Smalley was the only Lady-in-waiting and Sue Karl and Sharon Basset were the princesses.

Mary Ann Sears and Peggy Horne were crowned queens. Mary Ann's attendants were Sarah Ann Tate, flower girl, and Dennis Sears crown bearer. Peggy's attendants were Brenda Cole, Flower Girl, and Johnny Henderson, crown bearer. These two girls were presented with crowns.

Jerry Fisher and Allie Fox were presented as Queen with a Scepter. Jerry's attendants were Charleen Hemple, flower girl, and Timmy Deyton as her Scepter bearer. Allie's attendants were Nancy Tate, flower girl, and Benny Fox, Scepter bearer. These girls were awarded with Scepters.

Carolyn Billings was presented as Queen Regent. Her attendants were Connie Cornejo, flower girl, and Kenny Fitzpatrick, Cape Bearer. Carolyn received a cape as an award. Sharon Cole was our trumpet player.

We wish to express our thanks to each and every person who made this coronation possible.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fox and family went to Corpus Christi Sunday before last to visit friends there.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Page of Dallas visited in the home of her sister, Mrs. R. L. Tate, last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Capac and family from Port Lavaca visited the Billings last week.

Mrs. Leon Horne was hospitalized last week in the Herman Hospital at Houston. She underwent surgery last Thursday and is now doing fine.

Mrs. Addie spent several days with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings, and family last week. She came down to attend the GA coronation which was Sept. 28. Her daughter, Mrs. R. R. Spellmann and family brought her and spent the day. Sunday, with the Billings.

Rhesa Sue Averett was supposed to be brought home last Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Byrd from Ft. Worth and Mrs. Susie Byrd from Archer City.

The GA's of the First Baptist church had a slumber party at the home of Mrs. Ruth Hood. Refreshments of soda water, sandwiches, cookies, gum, and grapes, were served. Those that attended were Sharon Basset, Jerry Fisher, Allie Fox, Carol Billings, Sue Karl, LaRue Gopffarth, Mary Ann Sears, and Billie Jean McFeron.

Elbert Schoonover was honored on his 12th birthday with a party. Games were played, and refreshments of cake, ice cream and soda water were served.

Those that attended this event, were Pierce Frels, Timmy Alexander, Pokey Jones, Billie Jean McFeron, Adair Chapman, Sharon Cole, Vera Lee Fisher, Betty Jean Billings, Linda Shumaker, Elizabeth Baker, Elbert and Susie Schoonover and Willard Schoonover.

The Jr. High Band from Lolita, and the ICI High School Band from Industrial went to Bay City to march in the Rice Festival Parade.

Dorothy Willoughby is attending college in Abilene.

Mr. and Mrs. Glover Klaus and Ira Joe visited Pat at Austin last weekend. He is attending college there.

We're glad that Mrs. Hattie Horne is home now, and getting along fine.

The Cobras were sure proud of their victory over the Columbus Cardinals last Friday. This Friday is the Cobras' homecoming game. We will play Ganado.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Sappington who are the proud parents of a baby boy, born last Thursday morning at Ganado Hospital. They have another son named Mickey.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Smalley took their son, Wayne, to Galveston last Tuesday to go through the clinic there at John Sealy Hospital. We hope he will be well and at home soon.

Mrs. Ruth Hood, Grandpa Hood, Sharon and Larry Bassett visited relatives last weekend at Alvin.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hood and son from Victoria visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hood, and family last Friday night. They all attended the Cobra Columbus football game.

Our revival at the First Baptist Church of Lolita will start Oct. 19 and end the 26th. Brother Bill McDaniel, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bellville, will be the evangelist, and Brother Dell Mingus, pastor of the Baptist church of Telferner, will be our singer.

The morning services will began at 10 a. m. and the evening services at 7 p. m. Everyone is welcomed to come and hear some good preaching and singing.

The First Baptist Church of Lolita gave a social last Friday night after the football game. Ice cream and soda water were served. Those present were Allie Fox, Sharon Bassett, Jerry Fisher, Carolyn Billings, Peggy Horne, Bill Browining, Tommy McFeron and Herman Fox. Mr. and Mrs. William Thedford and son sponsored it. Brother Averett was present also.

A get together honoring Mr. and Mrs. Glen Leissner was held a week from last Sunday. The Leissners have recently returned from California.

Those who were at the gathering were Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Byars and son, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Samuelson and daughters from Boling, Ronna Curlee from Victoria, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Quarles from Edna, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Partridge and son John from Edna, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Samuelson and boys, Mrs. Vernon Thedford, Janice and Nancy, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lee Moody and family. Cake and coffee were served.

We're glad for the 50 men who are going back to work this week. J. V. Billings is among them.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Valentine from Yoakum visited friends and relatives in Lolita last weekend

Linda Koenning was honored on her eighth birthday with a party. The party was on Oct. 22; how-ever Linda's birthday was not until the 28th.

Games were played and later cake, ice cream, punch, cookies, and favors were served.

Those who were present were Johnny Henderson, Susan and Dana Suggs, Betty Joe, Jimmy, Bobbie, and Jerry Glen Dvorak, Elizabeth Smalley, Susie Schoonover, Charlie McFeron, Dennis and Charleen Hemple, Nita Jean Coker, Lavern Reynolds, Kathy Johnson and Penny Jones. Happy birthday, Linda!

Mrs. Bea McFeron, Bill and Tommy went to Houston last weekend to visit Mrs. McFeron's daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nawara.

Happy birthday to Tommy McFeron, whose birthday was Oct. 28.

The Cobras were very happy over their victory over Bloomington. Beat Tidehaven, Cobras!!

Harvin Suggs had a birthday party last Thursday evening. Cake and ice cream were served to these boys, who played football, instead of games: Mark and Gary Hafernick, Gary Thedford, Bill Walker, Larry Dvorak, Dallas Fox and Gene Wayne Fisher.

Last Sunday ended the revival at the First Baptist Church of Lolita. We had a good attendance each night.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Capac from Port Lavaca visited her sister and husband and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings last Saturday night. They attended church with the Billings:

David Redding was honored on his tenth birthday last Saturday evening at his home with a party. Those that helped to celebrate his birthday was Gene Wayne Fisher, Gary and Mark Hafernick, Gary Thedford, Francis Samuelson, and Jack Temple, Joe Robert Billings, Dennis Karl, Harvin Suggs, honoree's brothers, Jimmy and Clayton Redding, and David Redding. Refreshments of punch and cake and bubble gum. A good time was had by all. We wish you many more happy birthdays David.

Alvin Lee Moody was hospitalized last Sunday and was to undergo surgery last Monday. We wish him a speedy recovery.

A. P. Woodruff is a patient at the Ganado hospital. We wish for him a speedy recovery.

Mrs. W. W. Deyton was visited by her two daughters and families from Victoria last weekend, they were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beals and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goppert and family.

Hugo Gopffarth of College Station spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gopffarth last week.

Mrs. H. R. Gopffarth's mother, Mrs. Johnson, is visiting relatives and friends in Houston at this writing.

Lolita was well represented at the Bloomington, Cobra football game last Friday night.

We're so glad that the Lolita Jr. High Rattlers won their game with Tidehaven last Tuesday night here -Keep up the good playing boys.

Rev. E. E. Smith and wife and son of Round Rock visited in Lolita with friends and relatives last Thursday and Friday. Don will remain a few days longer.

Mrs. Leon Horne took a group of teenagers skating last Thursday night in Ganado. Those that went were Peggy Horne, Dorothy Walker, Carolyn Billings, Sharron Bassett, Allie Fox and Ruby Cornelius. Skating really pays off—in blisters.

Clem Fisher’s brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turner and son of Jacinto City, visited the Fishers last weekend.

C. S. Newman is visiting relatives and friends in Goodrich.

Many mothers were busy last Friday evening at La Ward and Lolita, preparing for the annual Halloween parties that are given each year. We hope everyone had fun.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings and family went to visit Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Valentine and Mrs. Billings went to visit her mother, Mrs. Addie Adams in Cuero.

Mrs. Stanley Samuelson underwent surgery last Thursday morning at the Wharton hospital. At this writing she is doing just fine, and we hope she will soon be home.

Mr. and Mrs. John O. Heaton will be missed here by everyone. He has assumed his duties as the new Edna fire marshal. They moved last week into the apartment adjoining the fire station there.

Our pastor Brother A. M. Averett, attended the Baptist Convention at San Antonio recently.

Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Seals attended the 9th District Postmasters meeting at Schulenburg last Satuday.

Last weekend Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Seals went to Alice and Bishop to visit with relatives.

Bill's skating rink is here, and everyone is welcome to come and skate. The old and young both have been skating, and there are a lot of good skaters here. There have been a lot of blistered feet. Anyway it is lots of fun to skate.

Mrs. J. V. Billings and Mrs. Ruth Hood were in Houston last Monday.

B. E. Carnes, mother, Mrs. P. K. Carnes from San Marcos visited them recently.

We are very glad to report at this writing of the improvement of Miss Annie Schilitzkus condition. She is Mrs. J. Klaus' sister. We hope she will continue to improve.

Mrs. Judd of El Campo visited Mrs. J. Klaus last Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Faith Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church met with Mrs. Ruth Moody at Red Bluff. There were twelve members present.

Mrs. Bea McFeron gave the devotional taken from the Book of Romans. They decided at their next meeting, that each member would find scripture verses that started with the first two letters of their name.

The song "Living For Jesus", was sung by all the class. Mrs. Ruth Moody was chosen to be their social leader. Refreshments of tuna sandwiches, angel food cake, pickles, stuffed olives, and coffee and cold drinks were served by the hostess and Mrs. D. J. Walker.

Those visiting in the home of Mrs. Marie Hayes last Sunday from Edna was her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sadie Stell, and also her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stell.

Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hayes took his mother, Mrs. Marie Hayes, to Houston last Saturday to visit her sister, Mrs. Erle Whitfield there.

Last ____ afternoon the GA girls of First Baptist Church, along with their counselor, Mrs. Ruth Hood, met at the church annex for their mission study book, "Temples of The Dawn," taught by Mrs. Sally Young. The WMU women furnished their refreshments for supper which consisted of sandwiches, potato chips, cake and cold drinks.

We sure are proud of our new service station that is being built. The owner being J. J. Sappington. C. K. (Pat) Fitzpatrick is in the Veterans hospital in Temple. We hope he will soon get to come home.

Mrs. H. Brown and children of Olivia was visitors in the J. V. Billings home last Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hood and children were visitors in his parents home, Mr. and Mrs. Hood, last weekend. Mr. Hood's son, Milton, is being transferred to Abilene. He is in the air force, and was stationed at Foster Field in Victoria.

Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Harris went to Leesville, La., to visit her mother and other relatives last weekend,

Last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Harris left to go and visit their son, Jack, at Springfield, Missouri. He is in the service and expecting to go overseas before Christmas.

We are glad that Linda Thedford has improved from her illness and hope she will soon be completely well.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob MeFeron have been visiting her father, A. P. Woodruff, who has been sick, and at this writing, he still is in the hospital. We hope that he will soon be well enough to come home.

Also, Mrs. J. R. Hamilton and son, Joe, of Freer, have been visiting her father, A. P. Woodruff, who underwent surgery recently.

The FHA of Industrial High is selling Mrs. Leland's old fashioned candy. It sure is delicious. Be sure and buy some.

Happy birthday to Peggy Horn on Nov. 14, and also to Glenda Jones on Nov. 15, may you girls have many more happy ones.

We are very glad that the Cobras beat Weimar last Friday night. It was a very good game. That ends up the football season.

Peggy Horn had a slumber party last Friday night, after the football game, The occasion was her birthday. Mrs. Ruth McFeron and daughter, Betty Sue, of Boling and Mr. and Mrs. M. E. McFeron of Beaumont have been guests in the home of their sister, and Mrs. I. T. Seale last week.

Mrs. S. McCloud, organized a den of Cub Scouts. There are six cub scouts to aden. They are den members of Vanderbilt Pack 102. Mr. Weber is the scout master there. The Vanderbilt firemen are the sponsors. Cub scouts that are members from Lolita are: Joe Robert Billings, Jack Temple, Charles McFeron, Glen Knoblock, Gary Hafernick, and Simon Mc Cloud Jr.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Frances Edwards on the death of her mother, Mrs. Hattie St. Clair, of Corpus Christi. Funeral services were held last Wednesday evening. Those that attended from here were Mrs. Bea McFeron, Mrs. S. McCloud and Mrs. Virgie Shelton.

Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Thedford of Victoria visited his mother, Mrs. Blanche Thedford on Thanksgiving.

Beverly Spaw and son, of Austin came last Wednesday and stayed until Saturday, visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Shelton and family.

Pat Klaus, who is attending the University of Texas, was home for the Thanksgiving holiday, visiting relatives, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glover Klaus, and his brother, Ira Joe.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Huey and children, Bathy and Grey, of Point Comfort visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Shelton and family Thanksgiving day

Norman Cook of Houston visited last Wednesday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Shelton and children.

Harry Walker, who is attending the University of Texas, was home for the Thanksgiving Holidays, visiting relatives and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Walker.

Mrs. Bea McFeron and Tommy spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Houston visiting relatives, and her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nawara.

Mrs. J. V. Billings and family had Thanksgiving dinner at Cuero, with her mother, Mrs. Addie Adam and her sister, Mrs. R. R. Spellmann and children. Mrs. Billings nephew Charles Spellmann, was there from Southwestern University of Gerogetown. He is studying to become a Methodist minister, also, present was her sister and brother-in-law of Port Lavaca, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Capak, and their daughter, Mrs. Glen Bushong and Sharon Bay of Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Englehart, and children, Karen Sue and Billy from Alvin, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hood, Sharon and Larry, last Wednesday and Thursday. Also her grandfather, Roy Hood.

Those who visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Walker on Thanksgiving day were their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Jerkins, Dennis, Joerene, Rusty and Donnie and Danie of Edna. Also their son and family of here, Mr. and Mrs. W. O, Walker, Doro- thy and Bill.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Horne and Peggy ate Thanksgiving dinner with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Barron of Edna.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ramsey and Candie of Houston visited her parents and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Horne and Peggy Thanksgiving Day. Candie stayed with her grandparents for a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Thedford had the following for dinner Thanksgiving day at their home: their son and family of Point Comfort, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thedford, Diane, Terry and Chris Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Whitfield and family of Vanderbilt.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moody and son of Orange, visited a few days before Thanksgiving with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Moody here. They are driving a new 1959 4-door, two tone beige and ivory Chevrolet.

Last Tuesday night a pair of skates were given away at Bill's Roller Rink here. Elhert Schoonover won the skates. Ladies' night is each Tuesday night and their price is 65 cents. Everyone is welcome to come and skate. It opens each night at 7:30.

The Golden Circle Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church had their class meeting at the home of Mrs. Hattie Horn, last Thursday night at seven p. m.

A devotional was brought by their teacher, Mrs. Jessie Lee Thedford, on the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter 13. Mrs. Babe Klaus led us in prayer.

The members present were Mrs. Klaus, Mrs. Ruth Hood, Mrs. Faye Schoonover and Susie, Mrs. Ruby Fox, Mrs. Thedford, Mrs. Laurice Billings and the hostess, Mrs. Hattie Horn. Refreshments of a congealed salad, crackers, cookies and Cokes were served.

Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Rutherford of Cheyenne, visited his uncle and aunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hood, Sharon and Larry Bassett, and his grandfather, Roy Hood, Thurston Rutherford was recently discharged from the air force M. P's.

Carolyn Billings was at home, all last week from having the strep throat. She attended school last Friday.

We hope that everyone will have a merry Christmas. And that the students and children will really enjoy this long vacation. We get out the 19th.

We are glad that Herman Fox has improved with his illness.

There will be a lot of Christmas parties going on today at the many schools. We hope that every one is pleased with their gifts.

There were several from here that attended the Bible Conference at Yoakum last Thursday night to hear Brother Bumstead of Houston and also Brother Pete McGuire of Houston. This was all held at Brother Newman's church there.

Mrs. C. K. Fitzpatrick went to Victoria last Thursday evening to get her husband, Pat, who came in on the bus from the Veterans hospital at Temple. She Christmas shopped while there at Victoria.

The ICI Jr. High band of here marched in the parade at Victoria last Saturday morning. The theme of the parade was “Keep Christ in Christmas.” Mr. McGuffey is the band director.

Tommy McFeron and H. J. Fox Jr. attended Melverine Huseman’s birthday party at Vanderbilt held at the Fireman’s hall, last Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sartin and family of Corpus Christi visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fox and family last Sunday.

Lolita News

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Alberty of La Marque visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Thedford and family last weekend.

Mrs. Dora Deyton is visiting at San Antonio with her two daughters.

A. P. Woodruff is still at the Jackson County Hospital. We wish for him a speedy recovery.

The La Ward Elementary school and the Industrial Jr. High School Chorus and bands presented the Christmas program last Thursday night, which was held in our new auditorium at Vanderbilt. They all did very good. The six huge candles were beautiful, that Mr. McGuffy made for part of the decoration used that night. The costumes of the younger children were very colorful and pretty.

Mr. and Mrs. Otis Goodin left last Tuesday for Ranger, Texas. They will be gone a week on his vacation. They will visit her sister, Mrs. Vergie Goswich, and her brother, Tommy Strong, while there.

Happy birthday to Carol Kay Hafernick last week, and also to Grandma Moody. We wish both of them many more happy ones.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nawara of Houston, spent last weekend with her mother and brother, Mrs. Bea McFeron and Tommy. They returned home with them for the holidays.

Last week Mrs. Shoemaker under went a tonsillectomy at Ganado Hospital. We are glad that she recovered so quickly and now is at home.

We were very happy to see Gayland Steubing here last Sunday night, visiting our church.

Also, home for the holidays from the University of Texas is Pat Klaus.

Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Rickaway. Mr. and Mrs. Glover Klaus and Pat, and Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Carnes visited their mother, Mrs. J. Klaus last Sunday afternoon.

We were glad to see Jack Harris home for the holidays. And glad that his foot has healed up to the extent where he just uses a cane. We hope that he will soon be completely healed. He is in the service and stationed at Fort  Levnywood, Missouri.

We pray that Clem Fisher will soon be feeling better.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Billings were at Houston last Thursday, she is still going to the specialist there.

We surely did have the rain last week, It was much needed.

The Christmas decorations are very pretty everywhere. I hope that the people everywhere will always keep Christ in Christmas.

Mrs. Simon McCloud and Mrs. Clarence Hafernick took the six cub scouts over to Vanderbilt last Tuesday night for their monthly meeting with the scout master, Mr. Meher, and his boys there. Our boys made their mothers for Christmas, a nice chopping board.

W. C. Gasaway and I. T. Seale visited Sam Grimes, who is ill, last Sunday afternoon.

Pierce Thedford is home for a few days to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Thedford and family. Pierce has been working in Louisiana on a survey job.

The Intermediate Union I of First Baptist Church had a party at Mr. Suttons. The Christmas theme was used in the centerpiece. Party games were enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Sutton, Stevie and Gayle,, Mr. and Mrs. John Young, Jerry Sutton, Madlyn Lesissner, Sharon Bassett, Sharon Cole, Don Deyton, Sammy Allen, Lawrence Gopffarth, La Rue Gopffarth, Sandra Knoblock, Jerry Fisher and Tommy McFeron.

Home made ice cream was served. A good time was had by all that were there.

The coffee club met Dec. 26 the home of Mrs. Jack Henderson. It was also a surprise birthday party for Mrs. Eldon Edge and for Mrs. Pere Schoelman. Refreshments were served to the following, Mrs. Jo Jones, Mrs. Pete Schoelman, Mrs. Eldon Edge, Mrs. Mary Hickman, Mrs. Johnny Cornejo, Mrs. Russell Reich, and Mrs. Bill Amey.

Rev. and Mrs. John Alexander and family left last Sunday for West Virginia for the holidays to visit relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hamilton and son from Lubbock visited his mother, Mrs. Mary Hamilton last week.

The adult Sunday School Class of the Lolita Methodist Church met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reichardt of La Ward on Monday evening for their annual Christmas party. Those attending were Rev. and Mrs. Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Caraway, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Parnell, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Suggs and family, Mrs. Annie Allen, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gayle, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Stayton, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wade, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. McCallister, Mrs. La Verne McCloud, Mrs. Wally Simons, present also were Miss Shirley Revel and William Reichardt, and Miss Charlene Hayes. A dinner was served buffet style and afterwards the guests enjoyed games of bridge and dominoes.
