Who founded this town and is staying with it to prove his faith

The Best Possible Proof.
Ought to satisfy Anybody.

We are not trying to send you to live where we would not go to live ourselves, as some land companies do. We are inviting you to come where we are already living. Come and be our neighbors. Mr. Schwind has proven his good faith in this land by moving his family from Lincoln , Nebraska , to live. He has erected on his 400 acre farm, this handsome residence, his permanent home.

This is No Company Far
No Experimental Acreage

But his own private property, on which he intends to show his neighbor farmers of the Francitas District how they can make big money, besides making their farms pay for themselves, by actual practical farming. Be Mr. Schwind's neighbor and make him prove by his own crops this land is all he claims for it.

Head of Burlington Legal Department Secures 1100 Acres in Great Francitas District

(From The Francitas Bee, September 18, 1913)

Hon. Byron Clark, solicitor of the Burlington railroad for Nebraska and Kansas, located at Omaha , has purchased 1100 acres in the Great Francitas District which will be developed into a very fine farm.

The tract purchased is considered one of the best large bodies of land in the entire district. It adjoins the original Francitas land on the west.

It is the ambition and intention of Mr. Clark to make this the best improved farm in this entire state.

This recent purchase of Mr. Clark is a splendid recommendation for the Francitas country. Last November he bought 232 acres northeast of town without seeing it. This sprig he came to Francitas to look over his purchase. So impressed was he with the Francitas lands and climate and the district in general that he expressed a wish for that tract. This week he closed the deal and became the owner of this most desirable property.

En route from Francitas to Omaha , Mr. Clark made a deal with Henry Miller of Oklahoma to farm his new purchase. Mr. Miller bought for Mr. Clark four fine mules and farming machinery and is now breaking out ground. A residence for Mr. Miller will be constructed at once.

Mr. Clark has shown a wonderful confidence in the Francitas country. In adding 1100 acres to his property here, he shows by his deeds his belief in the future of this splendid country. Timid investors and property owners should have no doubt of this country when a man of the great discernment of the dead of the Burlington legal department invests so heavily. Mr. Clark did not buy with the intention of decrease in land value alone making him money, but he bought to make a ram from which shortly he may derive an independent income.

Who has proven it and
bought more

I came here two years ago from Pleasanton , Nebraska , where I was in the mercantile business. The best evidence that I like this country is in the fact that I have just bought another 20 acres. We have had good crops and I am well satisfied land will increase in value rapidly.

RESIDENCE OF
HERMAN WINTER

I came here from Ravenna , Nebraska , a year ago and bought 700 acres of this land northwest of town. I am more than pleased with my purchase. I broke out some raw land this summer and have planted some milo-maize. Within three weeks the crop stood 14 inches high. My hogs and cows are going well. The Francitas country is a great country. THERE IS NONE BETTER.

The Francitas Bee

Attracted to Francitas by the good things I read about the town, I moved here from Salisbury , Mo. , without inspecting the country. I find everything better than it had been set out in the advertising matter of the land company. The climate is ideal; and everything grows that is planted. My figs are doing nicely and this fall I expect to put out several thousand strawberry plants which I have demonstrated to my own satisfaction will do well here.

    RESIDENCE OF J. M. YOUNG

Though 66 years old I have been working out doors every day since coming to Francitas at the opening of the town. The climate is so good that neither in summer or winter have I suffered any inconvenience. I have worked in the soil and I am sure there is no better soil anywhere. Anything planted and cultivated grows better than any place I ever worked. I came to Francitas from Nebraska , and love the country more all the time.

BUNCH OF FRANCITAS
CABBAGE HEADS

Some of the cabbage in the above [picture] weighed 23 1/2 pounds each. These cabbage were raised in the Nebraska Inn garden on light sandy soil. It is said no better cabbage was ever raised in the Gulf Coast Country. All other vegetables grow equally as well here.

"10 acres of Poultry"

I was engaged in the poultry business in Nebraska for a number of years with good success. A year ago I came to Francitas and went into the poultry business. I regard this an ideal place to raise poultry. I never had young chicks do better than mine have done here. During the first fourteen days of February 40 hens laid 248 eggs, which is very good for winter laying.

READ THIS STATEMENT

I came to Francitas before the opening of the town from Alma , Nebr. , and opened the office of the Francitas Land and Improvement Company in a tent. At that time there was practically nothing in the town and houses in the country were few and far between. To familiarize myself with the country I traveled over the prairies and thoroughly inspected the soil; since then we have broken out hundreds of acres of ground and developed orange, pecan and fig orchards for many non-resident property owners. So ideal is the climate and the natural conditions here we have lost practically no trees; on the other hand all the orchards we have developed have grown better than our expectations. The country north of us which was adorned by scarcely a house three years ago is now dotted with magnificent residences and splendid cotton and rice farms. The town proper has kept pace with the farms and is growing rapidly, and in addition to the many fine residences and good stores it boasts a splendid cotton gin and ice plant which is now running day and night to accommodate its patronage. A drainage district has been organized and what is considered the best system of drainage in the entire Gulf Coast Country is now almost completed. Bonds to the amount of $65,000 were voted for this purpose. A road district was recently organized and $60,000 voted to construct a system of good roads.

It is the intention to shell or gravel the streets of the business part of town and construct the country roads out of good black dirt. The people here are alive to their interests and are constantly doing something to improve the community. We have demonstrated there is no better soil in the country than Francitas soil, and the people gather vegetables every day in the year from their gardens. We have good market facilities and our truck brings the highest prices. As a place to live Francitas is ideal; the delightful Gulf breeze tempers the heat of the sun and gives us cool weather in the summer, and the same breeze in the winter prevents the weather from being cold. Francitas is known as the most progressive town in the entire Gulf Coast Country.

RALPH C. YOUNG, President Francitas Land Improvement Co.

MANY OF THE FINEST LANDS AND MOST VALUABLE LOTS TO GO IN THIS
SALE

APPROXIMATELY 2,000 lots and 5,000 acres, being all of the unsold lots in Francitas and which acreage lies adjacent thereto. These lots run generally as the alternate lots in the original platting of the town, and therefore hundreds of them are centrally located; in fact, many of them lie right beside and among some of the finest residences and best stores in town. Considering the rapid growth and substantial improvements of this town, during the past two years, many of these lots have become valuable business sites.

THERE IS NO BETTER ACREAGE IN THIS ENTIRE SECTION

Most of the acreage to be sold is as fine black and fertile land as can be found within a radius of 150 miles of Francitas, whose lands are considered the cream of this section. The value of all acreage lying adjacent to this town is fast increasing, owing to the rapid growth of the town and also to the extensive and high class development going on for miles around.

There will be some 5000 acres sub-divided into 5-acre tracts. With each of these 5-acre tracts will be sold one town lot in Francitas at $300 for the pair, payable $10 per month.

THE GOLD BOND GUARANTEES YOUR MONEY BACK--IF NOT SATISFIED WILL NOT COST YOU A CENT!

The most centrally and best located lots in the town, the most valuable for business houses, etc., will be sold at from $300 down to $100 each, also payable $10 per month and their value also guaranteed by the Federal Guaranty Company Gold Bond.
