Mr. and Mrs. Gerjes have three children and two grand children.
The children are Robert, Jean and Joyce, all of Edna.
Mr. Robert Kelton was born August 20, 1876, in Hall County,
Georgia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kelton, of Hall
County, Georgia. Mrs. Emma Kelton was born June 20, 1882 in
White County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. J. D.
O’Kelley and the late Mrs. Hassie O’Kelley of Moultrie, Georgia.
Mr. and Mrs. Kelton were married on June 23, 1900 in McKay,
Tenn. To this union eleven children were born, seven daughters
and four sons. All but one of these was present to help
celebrate the happy occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Kelton have
twenty-two grandchildren.

Everyone enjoyed a
barbecue dinner with all the trimmings. Open House was held from 2:00 to 6:00 p. m. at which time a large host of friends and acquaintances called.

Robert Kelton, 84, Retired Farmer, Is Buried Sunday
Funeral services were held at Slavik Chapel at 2 p. m. Sunday for Robert Alexander Kelton, 84, well-known retired farmer. Rev. Jack Moore and Rev. Oral Speed, Baptist ministers, officiated, and interment was in the Edna Cemetery.
Mr. Kelton was born Aug. 20, 1876 in Hall County, Georgia, and had been in Jackson County about 49 years. He passed away at his home here, 510 E. Kerr, on April 13, after an illness of 11 months. Mr. and Mrs. Kelton would have been married 61 years on June 23.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Kelton, and four sons, Grady and Loyd “Buck” of Edna, Henry of Lufkin and Harvey of Houston; and seven daughters, Mrs. Belle Gerjes of Edna; Mrs. Lillie Lyons and Mrs. Mattie Miller, both of Seguin; Mrs. Lucille Fojtik and Mrs. Minnie Reed, both of Houston; Mrs. Anne Morse of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Margaret Margolotti, San Jose, Calif.; and by 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers were Robert Gerjes, Fred Kelton, Laddie Matusek, Wendell Hamilton and Larry Lyons and Michael Lyons.

Mrs. Emma Eunice Kelton
Edna—Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Eunice Kelton, 92, of Edna will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday from the Slavik Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Webb officiating.
Burial will be in the Edna Cemetery under direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robert and Bobby Ray Gerjes, Wendell Hamilton Jr., Michael and Larry Lyons, and Laddie Matusek. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Simons, Milam Simons, W. W. Walters, John M. Hutcheson, Allison Gayle, Darrell Rowlett, Claudius Branch and Charles Slavik.
Mrs. Kelton was born June 20, 1881 in White County, Ga., and had lived in Jackson County since 1911. Her husband, R. L. Kelton died in 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and died Tuesday in an Edna rest home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests those who desire make a contribution to a charity in memory of Mrs. Kelton. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Ed (Belle) Gerjes of Edna, Mrs. Lawrence (Lillie) Lyons of Seguin, Mrs. Lester (Annie) Morse, Savannah , Ga., Mrs. Lucille Fojtik of Houston, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Lamar of Houston, Mrs. Jene (Boots) Miller, and Mrs. Minnie Reed, both of Houston; three sons, Grady, Buck and Harvey, all of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Annie Williams of Moultrie, Ga.; a brother, Herbert O’Kelly of Berline, Ga.; several half brothers and half sisters of Georgia and Florida; 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Henry Kelton, 62, Retired Officer Buried at Lufkin
Funeral services for Henry
D. Kelton, 62, of 615 South First, Lufkin, were held at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, May 20, in the Gipson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Luther
Dillard and Rev. J. D. Baines officiating. Interment was in the
Hillcrest Cemetery of Lufkin.
Graveside Masonic services
were under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Kelton was born July
6, 1901 in Copper Hill, Tenn., and died Monday, May 18, in a Lufkin
hospital after a long illness. He was a retired law enforcement
officer. Mr. Kelton had been employed by the County of Angelina and
the City of Lufkin as law enforcement officer, was a member of the
Methodist Church, the Lufkin Masonic Lodge No. 669 A. F. and A. M.,
and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his
mother, Mrs. R. A. Kelton of Edna; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Carroll
of Lufkin; seven sisters, Mrs. Belle Gerjes of Edna, Mrs. Lilly
Lyons of Seguin, Mrs. Annie Morse of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Mattie
Miller, Mrs. Lucille Fojtik and Mrs. Minnie Reed, all of Houston,
and Mrs. Margret Lamon of San Jose, Calif.; three brothers, Grady
and Loyd C. “Buck” Kelton of Edna, and Harvey Kelton of Houston; and
three grandchildren.
Those who attended the
funeral services were Mrs. R. A. Kelton, Grady Kelton, Mrs. Lillian
Matejicek, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Kelton, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gerjes, Robert
H. Gerjes, Mrs. J. B. Pahmiyer, all of Edna. Mrs. Johnnie Strellic
and baby of Ganado and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Kelton and baby of
Lolita.

R. G. Kelton
Edna—Funeral services for R. G. “Grady” Kelton, 74, of Edna will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Slavik Chapel with the Rev. Russell Moon officiating.
Burial will be in the Red Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Laddie Grady Matusek, Lawrence Poole, Allan Ray Hagan, Jon Poole, Gus Westhoff and Bill Simons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dutch Wiegand, Johnny Mac Hutcheson, Garvice Shoemate, Melvin Keith and Douglas Elder.
Mr. Kelton, a rancher was born April 1, 1904 in North Carolina. He died Wednesday following a sudden illness.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Matusek of Edna; son, Freddie of Lolita; six sisters, Belle Gerjes of Edna, Lillie Lyons of Seguin, Minnie Reed of Valley Mills, Mattie Miller and Lucille Raney of Houston, and Annie Green of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Buck of Edna and Harvey of Columbus, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Christine Kelton
Edna—Mrs.
Christine Mae Kelton, 55, died at her residence here Monday at
11 a. m. after a long illness.
Funeral service
will be held Tuesday at 3 p. m. from Edna Methodist Church with
the Rev. J. W. Griffin officiating and burial will be in Red
Bluff Cemetery under direction of Slavik Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will
be Don Latimer, Clyde Latimer, Joe Terry, Don Lawrence, Lester
Billings and Herbert Smith.
A native of
Victoria County, born Dec. 11, 1908, Mrs. Kelton had been a
resident of Jackson County for 51 years.
Survivors include
her father, Charles Gerni of Edna; her husband, R. G. Kelton of
Edna; a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Matusek of Edna; a son, Freddie
Kelton of Lolita; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Carlton of Lolita; a
grandson, Laddie Matusek, and a granddaughter, Martha Kelton.

Rosa Belle Kelton Gerjes
Edna—Rosa Belle Kelton Gerjes, 98, of Edna, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2004.
She was born Feb. 23, 1905, in Marble, N. C., to the late Robert Alexander and Emma O’Kelly Kelton. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors: daughters, Jean Hamilton and Joyce Strelec, both of Edna; son, Robert Gerjes of Edna; sisters, Mattie Miller of Houston, Minnie of Lufkin, and Lillie Lyons of Seguin; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Ed Gerjes; sisters, Annie Morris, Margaret Marquet, and Lucille Raines; four brothers, Grady Kelton, Lloyd [Loyd] “Buck” Kelton, Henry Kelton, and Harvey Kelton; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Edna—Loyd Clifton “Buck” Kelton, 89, of Edna, died Monday, July 6, 1998.
He was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Pickens County, Ga., to the late Robert Alexander and Emma O’Kelly Kelton. He was a retired owner/operator of a grocery store and was a Baptist.
Survivors: wife, Lillian Fulenchek Kelton; stepson, Vernon Chapman of Santa Fe; sisters, Rosabelle Gerjes of Edna, Lillie Lyons of Seguin, Lucille Rainey of Ganado, Margaret Lamar of El Campo, Boots Miller of Houston and Minnie Moore of Lufkin; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p. m. today at Slavik Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 10 a. m. Wednesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Joe Wes Rubac officiating.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens of Edna.

Lillian Pearl Fulenchek Kelton
Edna—Lillian Pearl Fulenchek Kelton, 86, of Edna, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999.
She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Cuero, to the late Emil William and Lena Frances Karms Fulenchek. She was a retired cashier and a member of Apollo Drive Church of Christ.
Survivors: son, Albert Vernon Chapman of Santa Fe; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by: husband, Lloyd [Loyd] Kelton; son, William Chapman; sister, Agnes Staples; and brothers, Joe Fulenchek, Frobese Fulenchek and Albert Fulenchek.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p. m. Friday at Slavik Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 11 a. m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Mr. Nolan Balsh officiating.

Minnie Reed Moore Funeral services for Minnie Reed Moore, 84, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alex Montilla officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born February 2, 1931 in Edna, Texas to the late Robert Alexander and Emma Eunice (O’Kelly) Kelton, and died Saturday, November 21, 2015 in a local hospice facility. Mrs. Moore was the last of 12 children, the oldest being Henry Kelton, who served as a deputy sheriff of Angelina County in the 40s and 50s. She had resided in Lufkin for 20 years, formerly living in Waco and Houston. She was a self-employed bookkeeper, a talented seamstress, and a lover of hummingbirds. Mrs. Moore served on the Walker Cemetery Board and was a member of Redland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Butler of Lufkin, Pamela and Juan Foster of Tyler and Linda and Mike Murphy of Corrigan; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harry Reed; second husband, W. E. “Bill” Moore; son-in-law, Eddie Butler; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Murphy, Thomas Murphy, Jeff Burns, Matthew Butler, Roland Popham and Will Johns. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Foster and Mike Murphy.
