Mrs. Thennie Childs, who had been confined to bed for about 18 months, perished as flames engulfed her home on State Highway 111 in the north section of Edna. The fire was reported at 7:45 a. m. Her body was found on the floor of the house in which two wood stoves had been in operation Alone at Time Mrs. Childs, believed to be between the ages of 98 and 104, was alone at the time the blaze broke out.
