Cleveland H. Dennis Cleveland Dennis EDNA--Funeral services for Cleveland H. Dennis, 78, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Cook Chapel here. Mr. Dennis, a retired construction worker, was a native and longtime resident of Jackson County, but had lived in Yoakum in recent years. He was a veteran of World War I. He died Friday in Yoakum. Burial will be in the Hines Cemetery near Edna, under direction of the Cook Funeral Home. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Della Hardaway of Edna, and a brother, Posie Goode of El Campo.

Carrie Diggs Carrie Diggs EDNA--Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Diggs of Edna will be held at 2 p. m. Monday from Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. R. A. Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Hines Cemetery under direction of Cook Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jessie Diggs Jr., Russell Diggs Jr., Maurice Diggs, Bernard Callis, Eartell Callis Jr. and Lawrence Prince. Mrs. Diggs was a native of Jackson County, and the widow of the late Russell Diggs. She died Friday in a Ganado hospital after a brief illness. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Claice Williams of Houston, Mrs. Mae Clair Callis and Mrs. Clara Wilkerson, both of San Antonio; a stepdaughter, Hazel Diggs of Freeport; five sons, Alex of Edna, Russell of Austin, Sylvester of Victoria, Randolph of Houston and Jessie of Corpus Christi; a brother, Morris Hines of Bay City; 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Truman Cornelius Diggs Truman C. Diggs EDNA--Funeral services for Truman Cornelius Diggs, 60, who died Thursday in a Houston hospital will be held 1 p. m. Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. G. L. Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Hines Cemetery in Edna under the direction of Cook-Butler Funeral Home. He was born April 25, 1927, in Jackson County to the late Isiah and Aline Hines Diggs. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lelia Diggs of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Brenda and Diane Diggs, both of Fort Lauderdale, and Bonnie Faye Diggs of Taylor; six sons, Truman Diggs Jr., Newton Diggs, Henry Lee Diggs and Albert Diggs, all of Fort Lauderdale, Cornelius Diggs of Houston and Joshua Diggs of Edna, a sister, Letitia Boales of Houston; and a brother, Travis Diggs of Edna. Pallbearers are Elijah Prince, Claude Prince, Alex Diggs, Randolph Diggs, Johnny Hicks and Jimmy Barnes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Varie Diggs, 43, who died in Victoria Friday following a heart attack, were held in the Edna Church of Christ at 2 p. m. Tuesday with H. Griffin officiating. Burial was in Hines Cemetery with Cook Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Diggs is survived by a son, Rufus Diggs of Victoria; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Griffin of Victoria, Mrs. Serelda Ceasar of Ganado, and Mrs. Norma Mitchell of Edna; five brothers, Aldene Green and Leaton Callis of Edna, Fred Callis of Compton, Calif., Grffin Callis, with the U. S. Army in Japan, and Nealon Callis of Houston; and two grandchildren.

EDNA--Travis Diggs, of Edna, died Sunday, April 24, 2005. He was born in Edna to Isiah and Aline Hines Diggs. He was a retired lawn maintenance man. Preceded in death by: sister, Lititia Boales; and brothers, Newton Diggs, Truman Diggs, and Will Diggs. Services will be 1 p. m. today at Cook-Butler Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Will Diggs Edna—Will Diggs, 48, of Edna, died at 9:30 a. m. Sunday in the Jackson County Jail. His death was attributed to natural causes. Mr. Diggs had been a resident of Jackson County all of his life. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. B. W. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Hines Cemetery under the direction of Cook Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Russell, Vess, J. C. and Randolph Digs, Leo Butler and Maxie Hines. Pamper A. "Lisa" Dilworth, 46, of Ganado, passed away and into eternal rest on Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was born to Eugene Dilworth II and Bertha Bryant Ceasar. She was a Baptist.
