John Heggem

Young Edna Child Died Wednesday

John Heggem, the three and a half year old son of Mrs. Aline and the late Lt. Paul Heggem, succumbed yesterday morning to a heart ailment after valiant fight for his young life. John was born with this heart ailment, but for a year or more hopes were entertained that he would outgrow it. However, a few months ago his condition grew worse and despite the skill of specialists and expert nursing, the little fellow gradually grew worse and Wednesday morning the summons came for him to take up his permanent abode in that ”land that is fairer than day.”

The Father once said: “Suffer little children to come unto Me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven” and we know that it was little fellows like John he loved so much and was talking about when He wanted them in his kingdom.

John I survived by his mother and twin brother, Jerry, and many other relatives, including Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Denmon, with whom Mrs. Heggem resided before her marriage.

Funeral service will be held at the Edna Baptist Church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. The remains will be laid to rest in the Edna Cemetery besides those of his father, Lt. Paul Heggem.
