OWEN), who resided in Navasota. Her daughter: Julia Dorothy Owen. Elizabeth was the
daughter of Rev. Robert Fleming, Baptist minister, who died (age 83 on March
29, 1880) in her Navasota home. Uncertain as to which of the Rev. Fleming's
wives Elizabeth belongs: 1st, Elizabeth Gunby; 2nd,
Charlotte D. Sherwood, or 3rd, Rebecca A. Harris.

Searching for "Doc" Matthews, father of James William Matthews
(b.1875) who was living with his mother Louisa J. and stepfather Ely J.
Cleveland in 1880 Grimes Co. census. Doc was supposedly killed in or around
1874. James William Matthews married Mary Ann Duke. They moved from Texas with
family to Oklahoma around 1899. Any info on Doc's given name or his or Louisa's
ancestors would be appreciated.

1787 and emigrated from Tennessee in 1833 had four daughters: Deliah, Elizabeth, Denina, and

OLIPHANT
My relatives have told me that my great grandfather was
born, most likely, in 1859 or 1860, in or near Sabine County. His mother's name
was Miranda Oliphant, but I have yet to find his father. Can someone find the
husband of Miranda? She was living in Sabine Parish, La by 1870 and her husband
had died. So, I suspect he was in Texas in the 1850s through about 1864 or so.
My great grandfather's name was Wilford A. Oliphant,
his sister was Mary and his brother was Robert (b. abt. 1864).

PARNELL
I am searching for information on my paternal great-grandparents: William
Parnell, b. abt. 1821 in SC and Nancy ?, b. abt. 1821
in TN. They appear in the 1850 TX Census in Grimes Co. with the following
children: John A. (b.Sep 1847 in TX) and Moses R. (b.
abt. 1849 in TX). I found John A. in the 1880 TX Census, Falls Co., married to
a Mary E. ? (b. abt. 1854 in
Prussia).
