 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  John Glenn Coffey 22 June 1927 - 3 December 2006 Katie Velma Coffey 28 May 1926 - 19 March 2013  Services to celebrate the life of Katie Dixon Coffey, 86, longtime resident of Sherman, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery with Austin Prescott, Pete Bicart, Ted Coffey, Zac Cook, Jeff Prescott and Gret Stout serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Katie was born on May 28, 1926 in Anna, Texas to Fred and Annah (Baker) Dixon and passed from this life on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at the Bishop Davies Nursing Center in Hurst, Texas. Katie was raised and graduated from the Sherman schools. She married John Glenn Coffey on October 9, 1948 in Sherman and were married over 58 years until his death in 2006. Katie enjoyed the tasks as a homemaker and raising her children. Her passion was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved going to family gatherings.and visiting with all her kinfolks. Katie was a member of Crutchfield Baptist Church. Katies was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sister. She is survived by her daughters Carol Prescott and husband Austin of Hurst, and Judy Bicart and husband Pete of Southlake, son Stephen Coffey and wife Renee of Lake Jackson; grandchildren Jeff Prescott, Shelley Cobb, Aaron Bicart, Jackson Bicart and Sean Coffey; great-grandchildren, Zac Cook, Nic Cook, Madeline Prescott, and Joshus Prescott; sisters Freda LaFoy of Sherman and Mary Stout of Sulphur Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
