Marie H. Lecheler 7 June 1923 - 19 June 2002
Herald Democrat 23 June 2002 page A-18 Marie was born in
Newark, New Jersey the daughter of George and Mary Klima Hock. She passed away
at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Irvington High
School, New Jersey, she went to Banking College in New York City. In 1944, Marie
took a banking job and became the first female bank teller in the state of New
Jersey. On 1 January 1946 she wed Lawrence Joseph Lechler in Belleville,
New Jersey. The couple was blessed with four children. They lived in New
Jersey and Arkansas before retiring in Sherman, Texas. Marie worked as a
manager for medical offices throughout most of her career. She was an
avid quilter and cross stitcher. She was an active member of St.
Mary's Catholic Parish, Sherman; member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary of
Hackettstown, New Jersey and the Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in
Sherman. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gayle;
and a brother, George Hock Jr. Mrs. Lechler is survived by her husband of
the home in Sherman; two daughters, Wendy Parker of Destin, Florida and Vicki
Davis and her husband Cliff of Kingston, New York; a son, Gregg Lechler and his
wife Annette of Denison, Texas; two grandchildren Ashley and Daniel Lechler of
Denison; brother, Denis Hock of Long Island, New York and several nieces and
nephews. A Rosary was recited at Waldo
Funeral Home, Sherman. A Memorial Mass was celebrated by Rev.
Jeremy Myers at St Mary's Catholic Church.
Herald Democrat 4 November 2013 Larry was born in
Elmwood, Wisconsin, the son of Nicholas Lecheler and Henrietta (Seipel) Lecheler.
He passed away at Beacon Hill Assisted Living in Denison, Texas. On 1
January 1946, he married the late Marie Hock in Belleville, New
Jersey. Larry served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a signal man. He
spent his work career as an Engineer Technician developing computer chips. He
retired from AT&T Bell Laboratories where he worked for more than 38
years. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his wife. Larry
was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Sherman,
Texas. In his free time he liked fishing and woodworking. He was a
volunteer member of the Pompton Lakes Fire Department, and later volunteered
locally in Sherman for several years at Texas Heath Presbyterian Hospital –WNJ
Timeout Program assisting Alzheimer patients. He was preceded in death
by his wife of 54 years; his parents; a daughter Gayle Blake; three brothers,
Arnold Lecheler, Fr. Anton Lecheler, and Norbert Lecheler; and one sister,
Lorraine Streuber. Left to cherish his memories, Larry is survived by two
daughters, Wendy Parker of Destin, Florida and Vicki Davis and husband Cliff of
Lake Katrine, New York; one son, Greg Lecheler and wife Annette of Denison;
granddaughter, Ashley Lecheler; grandson, Daniel Lecheler; three sisters,
Dolores Wojciechowski, Catherine Lecheler, and Sadonna Schwing; and one brother,
Owen Lecheler. A rosary was recited at Waldo Funeral Home with Deacon Gary
Vogel presiding. Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy
Myers and Rev. Antonio Aureus officiating. Inurnment follow in the
