West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas . Howard Leslie Daniel 2 January 1920 - 31 December 1995 Jackie Logan Daniel passed away Sunday morning, January 6, 2019 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Jackie was born in Snyder, Texas on August 12, 1926. After graduating from high school, she married Howard Daniel in 1943, and sent him off to war as a B-17 pilot. After the war, they moved around Texas before settling in Sherman in 1956, where they raised 2 sons. Howard worked in newspaper advertising at the Sherman Democrat, and Jackie was a commercial artist for Quinn Studios. She was skilled in bringing color and life to portraits in the age before color photography took over as the standart for all picture taking. She was also very capable in portrait and landscape painting. They loved square dancing with friends and fishing at the Sherman Country Club. Jackie's humor and love of life allowed her to easily make friends wherever she went. For the last 5 years, she lived at Pecan Point where she continued her avid reading and socializing with people. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; her parents, Hollis Logan and Opal Logan Edwards; and her step-father, Breco Edwards; her sister, Wauree Neill. Only her sister, Barbara Wilson, of New Braunfels, remains of that generation. She is also survived by her sons and their wives, Jimmy and Kathy Daniel of Sherman; and Rusty and Linda Daniel of Huntersville, North Carolina. Surviving grandchildren are Cari and husband, Rhett Parker, of Rockport, Texas; Krista Daniel of Sherman; Emily Daniel; and Troy Daniel of Charlotte, North Carolian. Surviving great-grandchildren are Katie, Colt and Hailey Parker. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, January 12, 2019 at Waldo Funeral Home with entombment to follow at West Hill Mausoleum in Sherman, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
