 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  James N. Dowell 8 October 1821 - 18 July 1863 Family notes say that he died as a result of being kicked by a horse. A note of his sister, Susan J. Dowell Shacklett, says, "Then we came to Sherman.
