Elliott 22 March 1923 - 25 October 1990 Private US Army WWII The Herald Democrat June 13, 2013 Chesterfield, Missouri - Frances Elaine Elliott, 88, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Arkansas City, Kansas, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at the St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield. Funeral services were scheduled for Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2013, at the Church Of Christ, Arkansas City. Wayne Robbins officiatee. Graveside service were held Monday morning, June 17, 2013, at the West Hill Cemetery, Sherman. Elaine was born June 29, 1924 to James Cody and Susie Mae Taylor Edwards in Grayson County. A native of Sherman, Elaine and her husband, Judson Elliott, attended Sherman High School. Their pictures were side by side in their high school year book. They wanted to be "friends forever" and they were. Judson and Elaine married November 20, 1942. Elaine followed Judson to California as he trained to be a pilot. After World War II they lived in Abilene, Texas where Judson attended Abilene Christian College and Elaine worked as a bookkeeper. After college Judson worked for General Electric. They lived in Dallas, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Arkansas City, Kansas. Elaine established the PTO in Indianapolis at her children's schools, serving as president and other offices. Elaine began a successful 30 year plus career in Real Estate in Arkansas City. She was an active member of the Soroptimist International, serving at President. Elaine was a faithful member of the North Summit Church of Christ. She was active in many areas, but she was always engaged in shaping women's programs. Elaine encouraged all she met to love the Lord and know Him through His Word. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Haynes and husband, John, of Chesterfield, Missouri; son, Gary Elliott and wife, Ellen ,of San Antonio; brother, Joe Edwards of Irving; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Judson B. Elliott; 3 brothers, J.W., Taylor, and Dan Edwards. A memorial has been established for the Flint Hills Christian Camp or In Search of the Lord's Way. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
