Mrs. Avery Barron, 53, of 327 West Jones,
died at 3:45 a.m. today at a local hospital following an illness of only
a few days. Funeral services will be held at 4
p.m. Friday at the John C. Dannel Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude Johnston
pastor of the North Park Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in
West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. T. Ashburn, Reid Galbreath,
Emmett Essin, Forrest Profitt, Hugh Campbell and Weldon Savage. Mrs. Barron was born as Birchie Ayers,
February 9, 1893 at Ripley, Mississippi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lige
Ayers. She was first married in 1908 to Willie Blythe in Mississippi. Mr.
Blythe died in 1938 and she married Mr. Barron on May 5, 1942 in
Durant, Oklahoma. Surviving are her husband; four sons,
Clifford Blythe of Dallas; W. J. Blythe of Chicago; Glenn Blythe and Earnest
Blythe both of Sherman; four daughters, Mrs. Everett Mitchell, Mrs. Carl
Ramey and Miss Cora Lucille Blythe, all of Sherman and Mrs. Lloyd Linsteadt
of Denison; a brother, Tom Ayers of Blanchard, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs.
Luther Mattox of Rinzi, Mississippi; and twelve grandchildren May 15, 1967
FORMER EMPLOYEE FOR CITY DIES
AT AGE 76
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.
Wednesday at Barrett Funeral Home Chapel for Avery Barron, 76. Mr. Barron
died late Monday night at a local rest home after a long illness. Burial
will be in West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Barrett Funeral Home.
Mr. Barron was born February 7, 1891,
in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Barron. He came to
Texas as a child with his parents and grew up and attended school at Howe.
He
had farmed and had worked for
the city until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War I, having
served in the army.
Mr. Barron was married to Birchie Ayers
Blythe May 5, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death.
Surivors are one son, Carl Barron;
three grandchildren, Carl W. Barron, Carroll Ann Barron and Pamela Barron,
all of Sherman; three neices, Mrs. George Hall of Pilot Point, Mrs. Kathleen
Dederick, Sherman, and Mrs. Leila Stover, Pampa; three nephews, Grady Barron,
Sherman; Leon Barron, Gainesville; and Claude Ruffin, Valleyjo, California
and sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Barron, Sherman.
The family will be at the Barrett Funeral
Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. When not at the funeral home, they
will be at the residence of Mrs. Henry Barron, 208 S. Elm. Mrs. Avery Barron, 53, of 327 West Jones, died at 3:45 a.m. today at a local hospital following and illness of only a few days. Funeral

married in 1908 to William Blythe in Mississippi. Mr. Blythe died in
1938 and she married Mr. Barron were married at Durant, Oklahoma May 5,
1942. Survivors are her husband; four sons, Clifford Blythe of
Dallas; W. J. Blythe of Chicago; Glenn Blythe and Ernest Blythe of
Sherman; four daughters, Mrs. Everett Mitchell, Mrs. Carl Ramey and
Miss Cora Lucille Blythe all of Sherman and Mrs. Loyd Linsteadt of
Denison; a brother, Tom Ayers of Blanchard, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs.
