The Bonham Daily Favorite November 29, 1922 pg. 2 SHERMAN KILLED WHEN PISTOL DROPS Sherman, November 27 - R.L. Caruthers, 50, attorney, dropped a pistol this morning as he was going upstairs at his home here and was killed when it was discharged. His wife heard the shot and ran to him. He told her that he had stumbled and dropped the gun. The bullet entered his abdomen and ranged upward. He is survived by his wife and 5 children, also by one sister, Mrs. Edna Vowell, wife of District Attorney Charles L.Yowell of El Paso. He was born and reared in Sherman and was a graduate of the law department of the University of Texas, and had served Sherman as city attorney and the county as assistant county attorney. Mary E.
