Chas. H.W. Sevier
Died, at Home in This City Late Yesterday Afternoon

Charles H.W. Sevier, 77 years of age, native of Tennessee, Confederate Veteran and for many years a resident of Sherman, died about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home in West Washington avenue after a sickness of several days' duration.
The decedent was born November 22, 1832 [sic[, in Carrol county, Tennessee.  He enlisted in Company "E," 12th Texas Calvary, Parsons Brigade and was in the battles of Searcy, Arkansas; Old River, Goodrich's Landing and many other smaller engagements and during his service in the war was never wounded.
He moved to Texas in the fall of 1852 and settled in Ellis County where he resided until 1872, when he removed to Grayson county.  When the war began he was serving Ellis County as a constable.
The funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the home and interment followed in West Hill cemetery.
The deceased is survived by one son, Chas. S. Sevier, of this city.
