Graveside service for Forrest Lee Robertson, Jr., 61, of
Sherman, Texas will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the
West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
He passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at his residence in
Sherman, Texas.
He was born on March 4, 1948, in Sherman, Texas, the son of
Marvin D. "Jack" and Jeannette M. Miller Robertson. He graduated from
Sherman High
School and joined the United States Navy serving from 1966 to 1972 in
the
Vietnam War. Jr was a lifelong Sherman resident. He was an avid hunter
and fisherman. His love for Traditional Archery led him all over the country,
winning numerous tournaments. His passion for Bow Hunting provided many
hours of enjoyment with his friends and family. In October 1995, here in
Grayson County, he harvested a 19 point Boone and Crockett non-typical
buck scoring over 200.
Jr and his brothers Jerry and Mike operated the Robertson Roofing
business, started in the 1960s by their belated father Marvin "Jack" Robertson.
Jr often expressed during his illness how much he will miss his
family and friends and this brave and courageous man, father, brother and
friend will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Walker Robertson of Sherman,
Texas; daughter, Leslie Butterworth and husband Art of Denison, Texas;
son, Roger
Robertson and wife Janet of Sadler, Texas; daughter, Marsha Phillips
and husband
Jason of Sadler, Texas; stepdaughter, Tracy Case and husband Marc of
Sadler,
Texas; stepdaughter, Diane Peasley of Sherman, Texas; stepdaughter,
Carey Enloe
and husband Shawn of Velma, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Valisa Simmons
of Sherman,
Texas; 8 grandchildren and 10 stepgrandchildren. He is also survived by
his
brother, Mike Robertson of Sherman, Texas; sister, Debbie Cameron and
husband
Rex of Sherman, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jerry Robertson.
