SHERMAN - Funeral services for Martha Martin Dollins will
be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11 at Waldo Funeral Home with Rev. Bob
Fogarty, Rev. Joe Crow, and Rev. Lester Scally officiating. Burial will
follow at West Hill Cemetery with Earl Myatt, Larry Atherton, Chris Myatt,
Jeff Dollins, Gary Dollins, Johnny Southerland and Dennis Teague serving
as pallbearers. Mrs. Dollins passed away Monday, March 8. 2010 at Texoma
Medical Center at the age 60.
Martha was born on Oct. 11, 1949 in Sherman to the late J.L. Martin
Jr. and Sarah (Estes) Martin. She attended Sherman schools and married
Michael Thomas Dollins on her birthday Oct. 11, 1990. Michael passed away
in 2004. Martha worked at Wyatt's Cafeteria until it closed and then she
worked at several nursing homes in the Sherman area, retiring from Homestead
of Sherman in 2009. She was a member of the Loving Baptist Church. Martha
will be remembered for her love of purses and her two dogs, Blackie and
Susie.
Martha is survived by her brother Rickey Martin and wife Jan; sister,
Helen Myatt and husband Earl; brother-in-law, Gary Dollins and wife Sandy;
sister-in-law, Karen Dollins; aunts Ruby Sisemore and Cleo Estes; uncle
Walter Skipworth; several nieces and nephews including Misty Cardwell and
husband Garland, Chris Myatt and daughter Stephanie, Betsy Dowell and son
Grayson, Robin Atherton and husband Larry, Wendy Eggleston, Mandy Clark
and husband Kelvin, Dennis Teague, Andy Teague and wife Vicki and Jeff
Dollins and wife Michelle; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and
cousins. Two cousins Norma Risinger and Johnny Sutherland took special
care to make sure they were there when she needed them. She was preceded
in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Martin; brothers-in-law,
Pat Dollins; and sister-in-law, Nancy Teague and her husband Wayne.
The family would like to thank Dr. Larry Barker and the Denison
Cancer Center, Dr. Mark Dickson, Dr. Richard Saltz and the very kind nursing
staff on the 4th floor at Texoma Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Wednesday at Waldo
Funeral Home. The register book can be signed at waldofuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loving Baptist Church or the
American Cancer Society.
