R. Harold Howell, Sr. 21 October 1914 - 24 February 1944 Sherman Democrat May 7, 1956 Loucious Harris Howell Dies; Funeral Tuesday Funeral service were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Barrett Funeral Chapel for Loucious Harris Howell, 82, of 2223 N. Travis who died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in a Sherman hospital after an illness of five months. Rev. Hargrove Grounds, minister of Key Memorial Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Edsell Cary, Hoyt Brannum, Dewey Brannum, Jess Cary and Ted Helcox. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Howell was born in Alvin, Illinois, a son of Jasper and Elizabeth Howell. He was a farmer and had lived in Grayson County 71 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are four sons, F. M. Howell of Corpus Christi; L. T. Howell of Dumas; P. W. Howell of Caddo. Oklahoma; and Raymond Howell of Princeton; seven daughters, Mrs. W. A. Keasler of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. C. D. West and Mrs. W.E. Claiborne, both of Fresno, California; Mrs. Allen Fairbanks of Manteca, California; Mrs. H. C. Fulsom of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Mrs. W. B. Perkins and Mrs. T. O. Hethcox, both of Sherman; one brother, Elmer Douglas Howell of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters, Susan Fogle of Sherman and Mrs. Mandy Nella Lonney of Weatherford; 32 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
