West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Harold Lawrence Aycock 6 October 1919 - 13 October 1987 US Army WWII Anna Mozelle Aycock 1919 - 2009 The Herald Democrat December 13, 2009 Mozelle Aycock of Sherman, retired employee of Gibson's Discount Center, went to be with her beloved husband on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at the Homestead of Denison. Graveside services will be noon Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Neill Morgan of Covenant Presbyterian Church will officiate and Mrs. Aycock will be buried next to her husband in the veterans section at West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mozelle was born June 30, 1919 at Randolph in Fannin County, the daughter of Haynes Oscar Lee (known as H. O. "Red" Lee) and Lillie Mae Tingle Lee. She graduated from Tom Bean High School and married Harold Lawrence Aycock on Oct. 12, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma where she had a double wedding with her best friend Elwanda Maddox and her fiance P.A. Jones. Mozelle and Harold moved to Sherman in 1941 where he began working at Texas Telephone Company and she became a loving housewife and mother. Mozelle was very active in her children's activities, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Camp Fire Leader and Blue Bird Leader during the 1950s and 1960s. She later went to work at Taylor Vaughn's in downtown Sherman before starting a 25 year career with Gibson's Discount Center in May 1962 in downtown Sherman and retiring in 1987 as a merchandise buyer and sales clerk. She loved to listen to country and gospel music and enjoyed attending singing events in area communities. She also was a very good cook. She is survived by her son, Ron Aycock and wife Mary Lu of Sherman; daughters, Robbie Coleman of Sherman and Becky Stephens and husband Fred of Denison; nine grandchildren, Ronald Lee Aycock Jr., Mary Elizabeth Joines and husband Brandon, Lisa Lindsey, Mickie McCollum and wife Elana, Christopher Henderson, Laura Shores and husband Daniel, Christy Hutson and husband Keith, DeAnn Roberson and husband Brian and Nicholas Kirby and wife, Mary; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Charlene Brookins of Savoy, Doris Pratt and husband Max of Sherman and Cletha Alexander of Burleson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in October of 1987, and brothers H. O. Lee, James Madison Lee and Harvey Neal Lee. Mrs. Aycock will lie in state at Waldo Funeral Home Sunday for anyone who wishes to view and pay respects. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving and dedicated care given by Homestead of Denison and Heart to Heart Hospice and also Waldo Funeral Home for their care and attention provided to the family.
