Friday, March 30, 1917 pg. 4 PORT ARTHUR The body of Mrs. S.C. Davis of Port Arthur, Texas, and formerly of this city, who died at the former place on last Tuesday night, arrived in this city over the H. & T.C. this morning and was conveyed direct from the Union Passenger Station to West Hill Cemetery, where interment was made, Dr. F.F. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city, of which denomination the deceased had long been a faithful member, conducted the services at the grave. Mrs. Davis is survived by the following children, her husband being dead: Mrs. Lee Varando of Port Arthur, with whom she was making her home at the time of her death; Mrs. Cleve Rutherford of Fort Worth; Mrs.Burline Galagher of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs Ida Jones of Ada, Oklahoma; Fayette Davis of Port Arthur; and W.L. and J.H. Davis of Keller, north of of Ft. Worth. Mr. and Mrs. Davis left Sherman about 10 years ago and Mr. Davis died a few years later and was buried here. The body was met in this city by the John C Dannel Undertaking Company, which had charge of the arrangements.
