HOWE - Funeral services for Deborah Ruth Miller were held at 10
a.m. Saturday, October 31 at Waldo Funeral Home with Deacon John LeBlanc of
St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial followed at West Hill
Cemetery with Glenn Bateman, Steve Roby, Jeff Miller, Michael Notskas,
Joshua Dixon, and Christopher Papoi serving as pallbearers. Ms. Miller
passed away Saturday, October24, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center at
the age of 57.
Debbie was born on August 22, 1952 in Sherman. She graduated from
Sherman High School in 1970 and worked at Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas
from 1987-2001. Returning to Sherman, Debbie was employed as a customer
service rep at Lowe's for several years before her illness forced her to
stay at home. Debbie enjoyed making arts and crafts and was an avid musician.
She played the guitar and sang, and volunteered much of her time entertaining
the residents at nursing homes and veteran's hospitals.
Debbie is survived by daughter, Danielle Bateman and her husband,
Charlie, of Howe; son, Sean Miller and wife, Piper, of Valley Center, Kansas;
grandchildren, Kevin Bateman, and Chase, Abby, and Chance Miller; sisters,
Lynda Papoi of Sherman and Rebecca Dixon and husband, Wendell, of Ft. Worth;
and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded
in death by her mother, Oleta (Breece) Evans and one brother, Larry Evans.
