January 1, 1934 Mrs. S.E. Daughety Dies at Son’s Home Sherman - Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Daughety, 81,
died at the residence of her Son, G.W. Daughety, route 5, Sherman, Saturday at
3: PM. Mrs. Daughety had been in ill
health for 14 weeks and has been confined to bed the last two weeks. Mrs. Daughety was born March 28, 1852 in
Kentucky. She had lived in Grayson
County the last 50 yrs. She is survived
by four daughters, Mrs. G.H. Hines of Arlington, Mrs. Joe Cox of Longview, Mrs.
Leonard Lamb of Lubbock and Mrs. Roy Taylor of Telephone, three sons W.E. of
Grapevine, J.H an G.W. of Sherman. Two
brothers, G.W. Beasley of Shawnee, Okla., and Hugh L. Beasley of Pittsburg,
Ks., two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Ferguson and Mrs. Norman Baxter of Pittsburg, Ks. Funeral services were to be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the North Park
Baptist Church with the Rev. Claude Johnston, pastor of the church
officiating. The Rev. H.L. White, pastor
of Forest Ave Baptist Church was to assist in that service. Arrangement for the funeral or under the
direction of Talley Funeral Home. Mrs. Daughety is
survived by 41 grandchildren, among them Miss Edna Daughety, who is employed by
the Sherman Democrat. Grandsons were to
be pallbearers. Interment was to be in the West Hill
Cemetery.

Retired Frisco Employee To Be Buried Saturday Sherman – Funeral services for John H. Daughety,
86, retired Frisco Railroad employee, who died Thursday at 2:20 p.m. in his
home, 1522 North Broughton, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Waldo Funeral
Chapel. Rev. A.W. Blaine, pastor at North Park Baptist
Church, will conduct. Pallbearers will
be E.M. Dudley Jr., Earl Fitzgerald, Ben Hagan, Andy Brockleman, J.C. Stevens,
and Fred Creecy. Burial will be in West
Hill Cemetery. Mr. Daughety was born in Bulter County Ky., June
1, 1870, a Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Daughety. In 1895 he married Miss. Lillie
Richards. She died Aug. 18, 1955. He came to Grayson County in 1888 and had
lived in Sherman 56 years. He retired from the Frisco in 1922. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are one son, Warner E. Daughety of
Oklahoma City, Okla. Two daughters Mrs.
Reba Dudley of Sherman, and Mrs. J.W. Powell of Corpus Christi: one brother
G.W. Daughety of Sherman: three sisters Mrs. Sudan Hynes of Euless, Mrs. Roy
Taylor of Telephone and Mrs. Lula Lamb of Odessa. Nine grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren and several Nieces and nephews. The family will be at the
funeral chapel Friday from 7 to 9 p.m

Sunday Services Set For
Mrs. Daughety Funeral services for
Mrs. J.H. Daughety, 80, 1522 N. Broughton, who died Friday at 1:30 p.m., will
be held Sunday at 4:p.m. in Waldo Funeral Chapel, Rev A.W. Blaine, North Park
Baptist Church officiating. Interment
will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Daughety was born
May 23, 1875 in Georgia. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her
husband: one son, Warner E. Daughety of Oklahoma City, Okla.: Two daughters
Mrs. Reba Jewell Dudley of Sherman and Mrs. J.W. Powell of Newfoundland; two
sisters, Mrs. Fannie Hefton of Sherman and Mrs. Ann Goff of Howe, nine
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
