Lucy Eleanor Kidd was born at Kidd-Key College on October 9, 1899, the daughter of Edwin and Cecile Kidd.  She was educated at the college where she was particularly gifted in music.  The family lived part-time on their farm north of Sherman where Lucy had to travel by horse and buggy back and forth to school.
In 1920 she married Oscar Dorr Worthley who had come to Sherman from San Antonio, to purchase and manage the Binkley Hotel.  Leaving the hotel business, they returned to Bon Aire farm were they operated a grade A dairy.  Lucy, with her love of animals, was an accomplished equestrian, and took an active part in the management of the farm.  During the war years she worked as food manager at Perrin Field.
In 1946, Lucy took the position as housemother at the University of Oklahoma, and in 1949, moved to Austin to become housemother for the Kappa Kappa Gammas.  After retiring, she returned to the farm to enjoy her family, gardening and playing bridge. She held a Grand Master Bridge playing designation
