Burns 14 January 1940 - wed 3 April 1958  Funeral services for Warren Wallace "Curly" Burns, age 72, of Sherman, TX will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Flenniken of the Promise Land Church in Sherman will officiate. Burial will follow at the West Hill Cemetery. He passed away on Thursday, September 09, 2010 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. He was born on Wednesday, November 17, 1937, in Sherman, TX the son of Walter and Bertha Lee Meek Burns. Warren married Doretha Kennedy on April 3, 1958 in Dallas, TX. He was a member of the Promise Land Church in Sherman. He is survived by his wife, Doretha Burns of Sherman, TX, son, Jack Burns and Janet of Maypearl, TX, son, Tony Ray Burns and wife Nancy of Midlothian, TX, son, Dennis Jay Burns and wife Lisa of Valley Center, KS, daughter, LaVetta Kay League and husband Cliff of Sherman, TX, brother, Frank Burns of Sherman, TX, step brothers, Ernie Garland of Denison, Texas and Lloyd Garland of Denison, TX. Warren is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack Lewis Burns and Carl Stanley Burns. Pallbearers will be Cliff Lee League Jr., Michael Meek, Carl Meek III, Cliff League Sr., Carl Meek Jr. and Cason League. Family night will be held on Friday, September 10th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
