West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas
Sherman Daily Register Monday, January 18, 1884 Mortuary Mrs. D.D. Stallings, a most excellent and beloved resident of East Sherman, died at her residence in that portion of our city Sunday night, of that most dreaded of diseases, consumption, and was interred in the city cemetery this afternoon. She had patiently borne her suffering for the past two years, and death released her from an existence that could have been but irksome. A husband and several children are left to mourn her loss, and the chair left vacant by her can never be refilled. The Register but reiterates the expressions of her numerous friends, when it wishes for her the most profound peace in the future, and a balm to heal the wounds of the suffering ones left behind.
