West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Janice P. Smith 27 May 1922 - 5 May 2016 George A. Smith 3 August 1931 - 9 May 1969 Howe, Janice Pauline Smith, 93, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born May 27, 1922, daughter of Lonnie and Reba Ann Riley Morrison. She met and married George Smith June 7, 1957 at Elmont Baptist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas. The union was blessed with 2 daughters whom she loved immensely. But first in her life was always her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was a lifelong member of Elmont Baptist Church. She loved her church family and reading the BIble every day. She would even take extra time to review the precious words. Janice was a faithful servant and had a heart of gold, always caring and helping others. She worked for 20 years at the Chapel of Care Nursing Home in Sherman. Mrs. Smith leaves behind her beloved family - daughter, Janice Kay Parrish and husband, James, of Howe; grandson, James Parrish and wife, Sara, of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Amber Parrish, of Howe, Texas; and great-grandson, Noah Wade, of Howe, Texas; brothers, Lonnie Morrison and wife, Francis, of Gunter, Texas; and Gary Morrison and wife, Rose, of Celina, Texas; and niece, Reba Hunt, of Denison, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Judy Karen Cato; sisters, Venita Morrison; Darla Morrison; Annie Morrison, Edna Ferguson, Lurline Hunt, and Shirley Underwood; brothers, Orvil Morrison and Eldon Morrison; granddaughter, Stacey Parrish.
