Gladys Dudley, 89, resident of Denison, died at her home on Friday, March 3, 2017.
Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 7, 2017 at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas. Officiating were Dr. Jeffrey Cottingame and Rev. Michael Daniels.
Gladys was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on August 22, 1927, daughter of Andrew and Oma Lucas Tyree. She was the oldest of 14 children and graduated school from Whitesburg.
Gladys and Jimmie Combs were married in Whitesburg, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on March 18, 1987. She and John Dudley were then married and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2004.
She graduated with her LVN license and worked at Madonna Hospital and was a nurse with P.T . Swamy for 30 years. She was a member of Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church in Denison and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Gladys is survived by her partner of 12 years, Bill Sampson of Denison; daughters, June Cottingame of Denison and Donna Hayes of Viper, Kentucky; brothers, Samuel Tyree and wife, Linda, of McCutchenville, Ohio; and Glenn
Tyree and wife, Francis, of Tiffin, Ohio; sisters, Ruth Gruhn of Denison and Nora Lee Gannon of Gunter; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; children: Jimmie Duvall Combs; Kathy Hix and Freddie Lynn Combs; 8 brothers and 1 sister.

Elmo M. Dudley Sherman-Elmo M. Dudley,
69, a Spanish-American war veteran, died Wednesday at 9:20 a.m., at his
home, 1300 North Broughton, following an illness of one week. Funeral services are
pending word from a son overseas, but will likely be held at the Waldo Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. Claude Johnston, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Surviving are his
wife; 3 sons, C.W. of Sherman,
E.M. Jr. with the 3rd Army in Germany and John Dudley, with the Navy in
the Pacific; 2 daughters, Mrs. J.C. Stevens and Miss Marjorie Lou Dudley,
both of Sherman; 2 sisters, Mrs. C.T. Campbell of Sherman, and Mrs. T.E.
Campbell of San Antonio; brother, W.A. Dudley of Houston; and a
granddaughter.

Sherman - Services for
Reba Jewell Dudley of 1522 N. Broughton, 86 year old housewife who died Friday
in a Sherman Hospital, were be held Monday afternoon in Waldo Funeral Chapel. Rev A.W. Blaine of
Collinsville and Eddie Frazier of Crutchfield Heights Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Dudley was born in Grayson County, daughter of John Henry Daughety and Lillie Richards Daughety, and married Elmo
Murry Dudley in Sherman. She attended
schools in Sherman and was a member of North Park Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, John
Dudley of Denison; Elmo Dudley Jr., of Whitesboro; Ivan Daugherty of Ft
Worth. Daughters, Mrs. Andrew Brockleman
of Sherman and Earline Fletcher of San Antonio: 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were
Terry Joe Dudley, Johnny Dudley, Jubal G. Dudley, Robert A. Brockleman, Michael
W. Murphy and Larry D. Stevens. Memorials may be made to
American Lung Association.
